With power speakers, I would probably use the Wiim mini because it is about half the price of the pro and has the same set of features. This would especially makes sense if you are using the optical output, since you will be bypassing the DAC of the pro and using what is in the speakers.
Great point! I like the pro since I move it around the house and use it with multiple devices. But you’re right, mini is better for any powered speaker with optical!
@@Caleb_Denison Yah, it's cheaper than the pro and has a lot of the same features. It is nice that the pro has actual RCA outputs and I think it has a higher tier DAC than the mini too. I also like form factor of the chassis on the pro better too. All this comes at a price tho.
I have an android cell that uses Apple Music and You Tube music. Also I use Apple's app on a wired smart tv. How can I play lossless apple music with this device and obtain bitperfect audio streaming from the TV or cell?
Are they export the same quality digital source to External Dac? Could you hear any differences? There's a reviewer on youtube said Pro export higher digital quality than Mini through optical port... I'm using Mini now...
Please Caleb... I would like to know the best way to watch music videos on 4k tv but play the sound through my high end audio sytem in Hi-Res. Is there a way to do that the sound not sampled down and up again. Using a high end receiver with hdmi input is not an option as it would be a significant downgrade from my current setup. Any suggestions greatly appreciated
@@stevenshadrach3182 just run the tv straight to your dac... The wiim is used to stream music from streaming services like tidal or music on your phone to your dac.
Yamaha WXA50 ICE power and Musicast app and you can go clean or use any tone control and Audiophile clean through, sounds better than my Naim Nait 5!!!!
Yes, you need a Chromecast device. When you use the Wiim app on your phone to stream on the Chromecast device, the streaming actually occurs on the Chromecast, not your phone device, as it does with Airplay. This means less battery drain on your phone, which most people consider an advantage over Airplay.
Other than the extra ports and Chromecast, the Pro has more memory. I have both and have found the extra memory of the Pro results in more reliable playback. They're both great.
@@jeffreyknezovich3307are there any diffences between both of them? Quality of sound when export to externam dac through optical output? Does the internal processor affect sound quality?
High-Fry. That’s like Hi-Fi, but even crispier, right? 😂
What’s the difference between using a streamer or just switching to Bluetooth and playing directly from your phone apps?

Mini and Pro both have the same DAC circuit.

Now there is the Pro Plus! It has a much better dac.
I wish they would do a 5.1 channel model.

can it be used with apple music to stream to both homepods + adam audio speakers?

Take optical output from the TV into the DAC and out to the power Amplifier. You could probably use optical from the DAC to the amp.

No usb out for external dac
How do they connect to the nines
let me know if you found out
What is the power consumption, also watts per channel?
So when running line out, am I still getting high audio resolution? I’m chromcasting.
Yes. It does the resolution of Chromecast which is high bitrate MP3 level. I use it and it's very very good. No one can tell it's not lossless.
Is this sponsored. It reads a lot like an ad spot?
What turntable is that?
The EAT B-Sharp :)
I can't get it to work with my Marantz 8015
what's that ethernet port for?
ypu can connect it to the port...if not you can use wifi...it also has bluetooth
