Its worth noting this works way better than a finger or paddle pop stick. Exactly like using a silicon spatula in a cake tin. The rubber cleans off the excess from the wall and tile. That is key

Nice! Back when I was fabricating and installing stone countertops I learned that spraying denatured alcohol just before wiping the silicone helps stop any extra from sticking to the wall or counter

That's pretty cool but your other video on using soapy water was also pretty genius...

Every job is different depending on the color of silicone used and the type of finish required 👍

The soapy water thing has been shown to leave ridges, I was thinking of trying it but prefer what he’s done here.

Don't use water. Silicone doesn't stick to wet surfaces

Don’t tape, don’t soapy finger. Do what this man does. The objective is to prevent mould and water leakage.

Why would you use black silicon on white tub?

  • @sunshinesquares

If you cut your tip a little smaller, then hold the gun almost perpendicular to the area you are applying it to-there’s no need to wipe anything and waste half the product.
I do it for a living. Tried all the toys.
They all wear out in a few weeks.

What about on tile with grout joints every 2”. It always makes a bumps in the silicone at every joint. Any tips

The profiling kit comes with attachments to act as a bridge over grout lines, this will help to create a smooth transition from one tile to the next👍

nah that's old shit, if you really want to do it it all comes down to how the nozzle it cut and you don't need a tool to smooth it out.
