yes i watching a video about a very charming European equivalent but that was the catch and then there may be questions of regulations when it comes to buildings and plumbing. It's interesting to think about in terms of problem solving, it seems like you can build out of clay with less difficulty than might be expected which is a novel concept. But this won't necessarily have anything to do with the normal plumbing requirements of buildings and whatever structural requirements and costs that involves. In a way, if you also don't have running water (trying to remember if that was the case in the other build), you're kind of going back to before modernity in the sense that it's now accepted that functional buildings must have plumbing. But of course that didn't used to be the case and even after WW2 in Europe, it seems there are people who remember not living with a flushing toilet indoors in the 60s and 70s. In Sydney a lot of the terrace houses had outdoor toilets and the way sewage waste was dealt with before flushing toilets was by "nightsoil collectors". Of course in terms of public health and minimising disease spread, changes in plumbing have been associated with improvement in health. However, I'm not sure there's anything especially unhygienic about a "long drop", but they remain a very unpleasant concept. i guess it's worth it in some situations, i assume plumbing is very expensive, to the point that instead of a flushing toilet you could buy another block of land for another building. (Edit: writing at the start of the video, for some reason i thought this was going to be a schoolhouse for disadvantaged kids, i don't know why, and i was thinking that the best means to an end in that context.) @@veenachandu1 A couple of honest questions - how does the dry toilet system handle excreta when one has gastrointestinal infections - does the sawdust / mud cover it so that it does not spread through the compost? Or is there some herbal germicide that can be used to ensure that the compost is free of microbes that cause dysentery, cholera, or other gastro diseases? I assume that the pit will be closed to as to prevent flies from entering and then spreading infections around, correct? Secondly, have you had any worms, pests or unwanted insects grow in the composted material? If not, was it due to some precaution you took (herbal germicide or insectide like say turmeric or neem ) or are such bacteria tolerated by manure and not passed up into the plants above the soil after use as manure for plants? Does turmeric and neem destroy the viability of the compost? 1-Height of roof is not shown. 2-Also how has roof been made and of what? The concrete portion of the functional part of the house is shown as the roof for sitting outside but 3- What about the roof for the bedrooms? 4- Whether dome type roof has been built to save construction cost? 90% of heat comes thru the roof during 8 hot months 5- How is the roof waterproofed for the monsoons? 6- What is the costing for the house? 7- Has gypsum been used as cement between the sundried bricks? 8- Is the floor raised above the general soil outside to keep moisture or water logging away or even act as a barrier for snakes and other creatures? 9- Are the south and south west facing walls much thicker ? 10- How does the kitchen exhaust move out of the house since cooking makes the kitchen much hotter unless its a totally open kitchen like the open bathroom concept. 11- Does a verandah go around the house to keep it cooler during the hot months? 12 - What is the orientation of the main area of the house (where maximum hours of productive time during 24 hours is spent) so as to be best for living conditions during summer or winter ? 13- Nothing has been mentioned about the wood used for the house or tackling the termite problem mentioned? Increasing the compost biomass around the walls of the house or planting tulsi and desi marigold may keep the termites busy, maybe gobar or cow dung plaster for walls and flooring used to keep the termites fed in olden times 14- There is no mention of exhaust pipes for the human manure compost pit or any special design for taking out the compost EASILY after one year of the pit being filled 15- How is the house earthquake proofed ? Does a beam go around the house at the floor and roof levels? 16- There is no concept of jalli windows or jalli doors as if houseflies and mosquitoes are not a concern. 17- The windows do not have ledges or overhangs. So how will the wood weather the rain and resulting fungus degradation in the house? 18- The wooden areas facing the maximum sunlight during the day need maintenance with alsi oil or something else after an year or two? 19- Is water reuse or recycling or rainwater harvesting planned in the next phase of the construction or as incremental improvements with time as per the budget constraints 20- Drinking water arrangements are via the municipality or by treated ground water 21- How much time was spent in gathering the user requirements phase and then Implementing the design 22- Costs which could have been saved and the mistakes made 23- Overhead water tank does not seem to be there-so does the house have a good battery attached to the solar photovoltaic arrangement on the roof for the tubewell or water pumps -are some questions which come to mind

I actually like it, thanks for sharing. It's all very practical, I appreciate what the young man said at the ending, that the house blended in with its environment♥️
Sustainably built house with such pleasing aesthetics too! The compost toilet is a wonderful idea which can even provide methane gas for cooking, but the open bath might be an invitation for unexpected wild life (?) although I love the concept.

It's really vy sweet nd beautiful decision to make a life vy peaceful ...and... Make a human vy honest... Because.. Nature is most beautiful things in whole world...
This was such an amazing learning experience I got from watching this video. I love the concept, the subtle small artworks throughout the walls of the house both in the exterior as well as in the interior are a bonus point that adds to the overall aesthetics of the house. Beginning with the shape of the house designed as a functional aspect to the ventilation works everything about this house speaks architectural perfection. But as an architect myself, I'm curious to know about the structural framework of the building, as to how a mud house supports a floor above the ground floor? Is it a load bearing structure? How is the slab constructed? I'd really appreciate if you guys let me know about the structural works of the house.
Though I have watched this video before. I still feel like watching it again and again. It gives me calming feeling and is also informative. When I build a house in coming future, I will surely take an idea or two from this video. You are such a lovely peaceful lady. I wish I could see the house plan on a paper.
OMG! I love this house and admire this lady soooooo much! What a blessing to be able to live this way. However I am so scared of lizards i could never live alone in such a lovely but open house. I need a cage! But I can appreciate that how correct this way of living is.
Nice to see sustainable and economical houses. We are producing our own ecological bricks and building our house ourselves with the bricks we produce. Soon, we will show how to produce and build with them. You save tons of money doing that!
I really love to live in this house so appreciative . It's better than so called celebrity house museum . I have a huge respect here . Totally worth it
Mam everything’s fantastic and I dream of building such a house one day. But I just have one concern…. Your golden retriever, is the cooling in your is sufficient for him bcoz they have double coat and are actually not meant for countries like India. I am sure you love them like ur own kids, chandu’s picture was there.
Awesome presentation, I had few questions? 1. What is the bone structure of house? don't it require concrete and iron columns to support walls, is it used for this house? 2. what is slab made of, are wooden planks used or iron and concrete?
I can't express my feeling. Tears came in my eyes. Actually I have been thinking since my childhood to made a mud house and watching this I felt emotional ❤️❤️👏

न जाने कितने लोगों के लिए ये एक सपने जैसा है , बहुत सुंदर 👏👏
Omg, this house is only 10 mins from my house, never heard about it. Thanks fir sharing her story. Very environment friendly house and very thoughtful and that too in city like Faridabad where pollution level is too high and yes greenery is very less.
This is exactly how i always wanted my house to be....thank u for showing that it can be true...❤💟🥰
This house is really a dream come true and kudos to you for putting down your thoughts into reality. I wish to have something similar some day.
MASHA_ALLAH.....Yaqeen nahi hota ke aaj ke daur mei aisa bhi ghar banta hai jahaan chhoti chhoti cheezon ka khyaal karte huwe iski ta-meer ki gayi hai..... its unbelievable
Just a day ago my mom was asking us to make a mud house . What a coincidence to come across this video.
By looking only it feels calm and beautiful , it feels to visit this home once
Calm and peaceful indeed! Must visit
Our Mud house in Chand, Chhindwara stood for around 100 yrs. Its no more there now. We have a lot of wonderful memories from there.
I too will have a house like this soon. Thanks for inspiring Veena ma'am.
I am from a rural place Saigaon in Karnataka, Our house is built in the same way, way back 70 years ago. It's good to see returning to the roots.
Now our house needs to be rebuild again.
This is the house 🏠 that you see on any hill station. Natural life is best in today's life 🙏.....god bless you didi and amol architect..... hat's off to tour ideas
I love cob house a lot.. and feel happy that there are people who are moving towards natural building..
This is the idea where I want to built the exactly same low cost, sustainability, and using natural materials ☝️👌👍 thanks a lot for this idea😍🤩
Most welcome 😊
I wish!! I could just visit this place once!!
What I liked most about is that Veena did what she wanted in her life...We all have one life if we cant live to our fullest satisfaction, whats the fun.
Mud house is a tradition of Manipur one of the north east state. Here, most house are built using mud and wood.
Just saw this wonderful video.....one word to describe... mesmerizing
This is my dream home too since I was little I always plan and know my future life I will live in a house just like veenajis, she is so pleasant. I just hole that by the time I finish my studies I will have the resources and will find such a nice architect like the one in this video to help make my dream home!
She is living in paradise
Thank you so much Down to Earth...I also want to build this type of house and thanx for awareness about our most valuable Nature
You are most welcome
oh boy, I am like flabbergasted to experience such a home. I am ready to give double the cost if I get something like that. Wonderfully presented as well.
Nature is in the house. Plants, water ,pets and u r furniture everything is beautiful. The way u r explaining everything is very nice.
Beautiful house.
I can say dream house for me n those people who want to live their life with down to earth. Happy to see your beautiful house 😊
Damn such 🥺a pretty house. Imagine the experience during rainy season 😌❤️
Though I have watched this video before. I still feel like watching it again and again. It gives me calming feeling and is also informative. When I build a house in coming future, I will surely take an idea or two from this video. You are such a lovely peaceful lady. I wish I could see the house plan on a paper.
Wow this is what my future imaginary house looks like ... Sustainable and blends with nature!!
this is soo v. beautiful. "the house should blend and not stand out" loved this statement.
Totally worth it
Simply loved this mud house. Must be so soothing to mind
Ma'am you don't just have a beautiful house but a beautiful heart and mind too...great effort 🙏
Mam everything’s fantastic and I dream of building such a house one day. But I just have one concern…. Your golden retriever, is the cooling in your is sufficient for him bcoz they have double coat and are actually not meant for countries like India. I am sure you love them like ur own kids, chandu’s picture was there.
amazing back to the roots
Great house... It will give peace and health
Awesome presentation, I had few questions?
1. What is the bone structure of house? don't it require concrete and iron columns to support walls, is it used for this house?
2. what is slab made of, are wooden planks used or iron and concrete?
Beautiful experience… going through your video presentation… an eye opener; I’m truly inspired! Thank you so much…
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can not tell you how I love this channel!!
💯
# ALWAYS DOWN TO EARTH 🌍
I'm in love with this house. indeed its soothing to the soul
This is really natural and future forward, like dream come true
I can't express my feeling. Tears came in my eyes. Actually I have been thinking since my childhood to made a mud house and watching this I felt emotional ❤️❤️👏
Such a beautiful concept. I wish it was more easily accessible to most. Apart from the toilets and free flow of water of bathroom (will require a lot of time to adjust to that concept) , everything else was on point...
Lovely house!!!
Finally found what I was looking for! The bot is the best of them al
Soo beautifully made just loved it, I would surely wish to have a house like this.
Proud of you didi and Amol and all the supporters
Wow didi! What an amazing house 🏠 🛖 you have! I wish every Indian 🇮🇳 to have a similar mud or a down to earth 🌎 house once they retire. Good luck, didi! Your dogs 🐕 are really cute, as well. Cheers!! 👏👏🤗🎊🎈
Best home for human life

Builder now a days are urban naxalites, they play with homes
Out of the box thinking and very practical.
We used to go to our grand mothers mud house on school holidays,no electricity, really fun, i love that
Loved the house very much except the dry toilet idea.
Absolutely amazing..
This home 🏡 imbibes the concept of sustainability. ✅
