When I was 12, my big brother took me, cruising with his best friend. I remember pulling up at a place where all kinds of very fast cars were parked and everyone was drinking beer. When we got out of the car, I remember this song playing, it was the first time I heard it. That moment change my life, and always made me really appreciate this song, but not just hearing it. It was what it stood for back then. I’m 52 years old now and look back on those days with a smile.
Right there with you, brother. I'm 50. My life was changed when my Parents bought me Kiss Double Platinum, on my 5th Bday in 1978, the year that double album came out. I still remember playing it on my fisher price record player. Since then, Kiss has always been my favorite band. The Original Kiss! Ace Frehley has always been my favorite Kiss member, my favorite guitarist, and the reason why I started playing guitar.
Reading the vibe and checking the atmosphere! I'm one of those guys who's band played these songs that certainly DO still hold up! BUT THESE DAYS, PEOPLE? TRUST ME! YOU CAN'T ROCK IN AMERICA LIKE THIS ANYMORE! If one person doesn't get it, there's a problem! Worse than footloose.
Brad Gillis on the guitar can really shred. I remember when he was with Ozzy Osbourne. Which was slightly different music. I always liked Jack Blades on bass, too. Phenomenal in Damn Yankees
@@javiermoretti1825 Especially these guys. This LP went platinum. They saturated FM & video. My band covered this song "back in its day." IMO, "underrated" in YT comments means either "I just discovered these guys," or "I like them, & I know better than you." Nobody uses the term on unknown artists who actually are underrated. It's always applied to the really huge acts like Night Ranger. Why is that?
I think Brad Gillis is the most underrated guitar player in Rock . Maybe the best. Have seen them eight times and every time they were better. Got to talk to Kelly Keegy for a few minutes, he says singing while playing drums is not that difficult.
@@ronaldfinley2985 Some drummers do it easily, and some can't manage it at all. I've played with all sorts. Many years ago I played with a drummer (still the best I've ever played with) who got so fed up with the mic boom getting in his way that he finally got a headset mic. Drummers have an advantage there. They can do it on the cheap - no need for them to go wireless!
There were at least seven bands killing it in this decade. This was one of them. The fact that the Damn Yankees became something was because of prior bands that were freaking awesome.
Thank God, we can still Rock in America. This is one of my fav songs of all time. Can't listen to a lot of the crappy music now a days. I saw Night Ranger on the 7 Wishes Tour in Binghamton, NY and it was fucking awesome! Went to a lot of concerts in the 80's and this was one of my very favorites. I'm going to pull out my Night Ranger cassettes and rock out tonight. Good, good stuff.
Oh how I loved those guys and that twin guitar attack, like an 80s alien version of Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter. For some they were too melodic but, for those I sent to their shows they always came back blown away. Over the top professionalism, tunes and musicianship. All tours were great but, I'm glad I got to see their absolute pinnacle on the Seven Wishes tour.
Everyone will love going down this rabbit hole that will show all that we are the same one with unconditional love for all, sovereignty, and freewill. Then all will learn the truth and that will be the start to bringing heaven to all that is inside all the same. I LOVE YOU ALL HERE WE GO! The 1st family the blue people from Sarah desert, abandoned by God made by Adam and Eve. The Fugate Family blue people, they say blue because same family make baby. Adam and Eve same and make babies, so it makes sense if it's true like they say about the Fugate family, blue because same family make baby. Then think now 7 continents and before only one and 1st family blue people made garden of eden which now Sahara desert. Also the Lader De Saints say the Garden of Eden is located in Joplin Missouri and they own 3000 acres and have a special alter there. Now the 1st family they made cheese with blue fungreek and they say the blue people from Sahara desert are blue from blue fungreek dye. The 1st family are here and also owns all in Missouri and more around the world and the one was born in Missouri and is here now and he has fugate family in him and is a boy girl twin and the twin sister did not survive birth.
They gave a free concert in Dallas in 1984, and when that American flag dropped on the stage behind them and they launched into this, the place went stark-raving bananas!!
If people don't think you can still rock in America then they need to watch the US Navy Blue Angels in their F-18 Super Hornets and the F-35 fighter jets. Hell yeah, you can still rock in America and above foreign countries with bad thoughts in their hearts and minds. I was born in 1983, graduated from high school in 1983, love 1980s rock mainly and you legends I still rock in America.
I agree with you. I saw Ozzy in 82' it was the make up show at Brendon Byrne Arena for the Diary of Madman tour when Rhandy died. Brad Gillis was the stand in for Rhandy Rhoads for the rest of the tour. That says alot, it was seemless! There was alot of stredders they could have gone to. Brad Gillis ripped your face off! I never got to see R.R. RIP.
Yeah I have always liked brad Gil's he is a definitely accomplished guitar player bad ass guitar player..An I think he played with Ozzy at one time. An that would be the frosting on the cake.
I was at a friends house at the age of 9 and he had a hot teenage babysitter. This video came on and there she was dancing in her mini-skirt to this video going nuts and talking about how "radical" they were. I look at her then at the t.v., then again at her and the t.v. and it clicked. I have to get a guitar. Thank you Night Ranger.
Sweeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Jaxx in Springfield!!Watson, Keagy, Fitzgerald, Blades and Gillis-backstage with them and bro in law!!1998---not here though
@TheSuperEupher First of all, I did not leave the comment above. We all LOVE Night Ranger and play the greatest hits cd ointo the ground. Second, if you want to show some balls, meet me face to face and have the nerve to say that to my face. GOT THAT?
They're baaack Can'twait to see em at Ruoff, Indianapolis. Saw them in the 80's at a little club in Cocoa Bch called Brassy's. And when I meet them I'm goingtoask themif they rememberthe spot! Guaranteethey will. Because they actuallysaid they had the best time. It showed in They'replaying!!!
Oh yeah, 101.1 The Fox, Kansas City every day! No, really, I was just trying to be funny, I see everyone dogs that guy, frankly I don't even know who he is, so he can't be all that good anyways!
I wasn't comparing, but obviously you can't compare a rock band with a singer or singing group. Sounds like you're angry. Crank up some good old rock & roll and you'll feel better and don't listen to pop radio.
You can still Rock in..America.. with.. Night Ranger..ln..2024 !! Mr Dilly.. Approved !!👍🎸😎

So do I. I'm 51.
52 in October: you just described every Friday night cruising “the loop” in my hometown.

間違いなくロック史に残る名曲。カセットテープが擦り切れる程聴きまくった。56のジジイが少年時代を思い出す。生まれて初めて行ったコンサートでのロックインアメリカは感動したな〜

I am so happy to find this now..
This band is ..amazing
First heard Night Ranger in 1982. Sing me away& Don't tell me you love me were phenomenal songs back in the 80,s.
this is the most underrated band back in its day.... they had everything and it still rocks today
Who "underrates" bands?
The guy going away on a motorcycle has Richard Page's hairdo.
