    Not forcing or fighting to move the pin is probably the single best advice. Learning this takes time. IMO, one needs to be alone with ZERO distractions, to begin to see the float pattern at the moment the shot breaks. Developing timing is crucial in a quality shot cycle. And figuring out a way to not let " performance " issues develop under even the slightest " pressure?" is paramount. One needs/has? to be under mental control like at a 3-d or indoor competition where we all want to perform as well as we do at the house range.

    Interesting to hear your comment on relaxing the index finger with a hinge because I also have a bad tendency to creep off the wall when trying that method.

      @@rcrchery did you shoot well over the season?

    The best shooting technique is the one that allows you to hit the first shot well without warming up. For the hunter.I always start my training with 3 shots from a long distance like 70m to find such a technique and then stick to it. To date, this is a trigger punch for me, everything else sucks.

    Makes sense, What release would you recommend for a new shooter

    • @rcrchery
      @rcrchery  3 года назад

      I would go with a tension activated release to get the basics of a solid foundation in order. A hinge is also a great alternative.

    Any suggestions on a release for someone with limited flexibility in hand from arthritis? Currently use a Stan extinction wrist strap.

      How are you with finger curling and can you describe the limited movement more?

      @@rcrchery thanks for responding. Thumb is fine, but middle three fingers probably can curl/close them about 1/3. I use a Stan extinction wrist, able to lay my trigger finger on it and kind of squeeze it, but sometimes leads to a punch. Just been shooting archery over a year, love to practice.
