    I truly believe pre injury D rose is the most athletic player to ever play in the NBA

    • @justonerandomguy6580

      WaffleWacko and Gerald Green. But Green ain't as fast as them. He is as strong and explosive as them, and we all know he can jump hella high.

    • @coopermorris236
      @coopermorris236 9 лет назад +32

      Wilt Chamberlain had a 50+ vertical at 7'1 I think that Derrick Rose is the one of the most athletic guards but MJ is at my 2 all time people don't look at how athletic he was he is way more athletic than LeBron trust me

    • @MrAGlove
      @MrAGlove 9 лет назад +102

      +Cooper Morris ...come on man Wilt did not have a 50+ inch vertical. That's not accurate at all. Obviously he had a phenomenal standing reach of roughly 10 ft, but if he had a 50 inch vertical, he could reach well over 1 ft beyond the top of the backboard...not true at all

    • @coopermorris236
      @coopermorris236 9 лет назад +4

      MrAGlove He did! See he had jumped that high a couple of times and had a base of around a 43 inch vertical

    • @MrAGlove
      @MrAGlove 9 лет назад +16

      base of around a 43 inch vertical? you dont just randomly jump 7 inches higher a few times. he also didnt have a base of a 43 inch vertical. there is not one video that shows his hand above the top of the backboard....because all of the videos are taken from an elevated angle. elevated angles are meaningless bc the perspective is all wrong...same with videotaping dunks from below the height of the rim...dudes look way higher than they actually are

    D.Rose is the perfect mix between:
    The quickness of Allen Iverson
    The jump of Vince Carter

    D rose before the injuries in my opinion was the most athletic player in nba history. He had the greatest combination of speed, strength, and vertical leap and could dunk on literally anybody with two hands which is really hard to do. He also had great body control which is why I've always thought that he was way better than Westbrook ever was before injuries. Even now he's still arguably the fastest player in the league and the second most athletic at the point guard position behind Russell Westbrook

      I swear, it's like people have never seen Dwyane wade play before. Watch the one wade dunk on varajeo to see the pinnacle of athletic ability in a nba guard. Wade posterized and blocked big men routinely too.

    Every dunk he does he lands on one foot rather than both which is prob the reason that his knees are weak

    • @KPJ311
      @KPJ311 8 лет назад +21

      +NingaSquad Possibly a contributing factor. But an interesting thing I just read was that the actual take off of the dunk causes more wear on your knees than the landing. Hence why we haven't seen Derrick dunking all season.

  • @zachhaines15
    @zachhaines15 9 лет назад +42

    He plants so hard before he vaults himself up and only lands on one foot rather than coming down on both feet with his knees at 90 degrees. As exciting as he was to watch, it should be a lesson to up and coming basketball players that playing at 120 mph is a threat to your career

    • @Dprofit581
      @Dprofit581 8 лет назад +1

      dumbass damn there every dunker comes down on one leg it's a momentum ordeal, nothing drose did on purpose cause it was cool, his Achilles heel was always his knees not his fault he was born that way of course he would have probably been the best pg in 2016 if he would have never tore his acl but coming down on 2 legs wouldn't have prevented that

    • @zachhaines15
      @zachhaines15 8 лет назад

      You're an idiot if you honestly believe that. His Achilles heel was his pace of play. He was an incredible talent but he always needed to just slow down a bit, because playing that hard and that fast and all of a sudden coming to a hard stop to come up and dunk will destroy a person's legs. And no, not every dunker comes down on one leg. Only the ones that are reckless and seemingly don't care about the longevity of their careers do that. Coming down 7 feet and landing on two feet is much safer than landing on one foot. Landing on two feet prevents the knees and ankles from bending in ways they aren't supposed to. Please read a book

    • @sonicoduh1125
      @sonicoduh1125 8 лет назад +1

      Playing 120mph and landing BADLY is a threat to your career. It didn't matter that he was going extremely fast. But how he stops and lands is what killed him

    • @qoki2244
      @qoki2244 7 лет назад

      Its also a common to get torn tendons and ligaments as a result from growth hormone and steroids use, which almost all professional athletes take. This guy was just a combination of recklessness and drug use.

    His dunking are amazing, but his landing is what killed his knees and shorterned his prime. He should grab the basket for 2 seconds and land lightly.

    Has anyone else noticed that everytime D Rose goes up to dunk he lands on his left foot first. No wonder why he got injured in that playoff game against the 76ers. His leg could only take so much.
