Wilt Chamberlain had a 50+ vertical at 7'1 I think that Derrick Rose is the one of the most athletic guards but MJ is at my 2 all time people don't look at how athletic he was he is way more athletic than LeBron trust me
+Cooper Morris ...come on man Wilt did not have a 50+ inch vertical. That's not accurate at all. Obviously he had a phenomenal standing reach of roughly 10 ft, but if he had a 50 inch vertical, he could reach well over 1 ft beyond the top of the backboard...not true at all
base of around a 43 inch vertical? you dont just randomly jump 7 inches higher a few times. he also didnt have a base of a 43 inch vertical. there is not one video that shows his hand above the top of the backboard....because all of the videos are taken from an elevated angle. elevated angles are meaningless bc the perspective is all wrong...same with videotaping dunks from below the height of the rim...dudes look way higher than they actually are
D rose before the injuries in my opinion was the most athletic player in nba history. He had the greatest combination of speed, strength, and vertical leap and could dunk on literally anybody with two hands which is really hard to do. He also had great body control which is why I've always thought that he was way better than Westbrook ever was before injuries. Even now he's still arguably the fastest player in the league and the second most athletic at the point guard position behind Russell Westbrook
I swear, it's like people have never seen Dwyane wade play before. Watch the one wade dunk on varajeo to see the pinnacle of athletic ability in a nba guard. Wade posterized and blocked big men routinely too.
+NingaSquad Possibly a contributing factor. But an interesting thing I just read was that the actual take off of the dunk causes more wear on your knees than the landing. Hence why we haven't seen Derrick dunking all season.
jimmy salgado he said wouldn't you have loved to see . Prime derrick rose is a much different player then you see now it was possible for him and that bulls team to go to the finals if it weren't for the injuries 👌🏻
He plants so hard before he vaults himself up and only lands on one foot rather than coming down on both feet with his knees at 90 degrees. As exciting as he was to watch, it should be a lesson to up and coming basketball players that playing at 120 mph is a threat to your career
dumbass damn there every dunker comes down on one leg it's a momentum ordeal, nothing drose did on purpose cause it was cool, his Achilles heel was always his knees not his fault he was born that way of course he would have probably been the best pg in 2016 if he would have never tore his acl but coming down on 2 legs wouldn't have prevented that
You're an idiot if you honestly believe that. His Achilles heel was his pace of play. He was an incredible talent but he always needed to just slow down a bit, because playing that hard and that fast and all of a sudden coming to a hard stop to come up and dunk will destroy a person's legs. And no, not every dunker comes down on one leg. Only the ones that are reckless and seemingly don't care about the longevity of their careers do that. Coming down 7 feet and landing on two feet is much safer than landing on one foot. Landing on two feet prevents the knees and ankles from bending in ways they aren't supposed to. Please read a book
Playing 120mph and landing BADLY is a threat to your career. It didn't matter that he was going extremely fast. But how he stops and lands is what killed him
Its also a common to get torn tendons and ligaments as a result from growth hormone and steroids use, which almost all professional athletes take. This guy was just a combination of recklessness and drug use.
Did you hear Reggie Miller on dunk #3; he says, " I know his knees are healthy. Kevin Garnett's knees might not be healthy." He jinxed him. Reggie Miller is the reason Derrick Rose's knees were destroyed, lol.
Retired after 15 seasons no matter what he made an impact in my childhood especially making his athleticism unbelievable. Wish he won a NBA championship 😢 at least
Facts, never saw and probably we'll never see something like that again by a player, a complete jump and complete two-handed smash on the rim like that, just perfect, it was a posterizing too.
Its sad that all his best dunks were when he was with the Bulls! Damn if he hadn't been seriously injured he would have been one of the all-time greats! He's got the heart of a lion and overall a very cool dude.
Such a great athlete !! So much determination ! Sad what what happened to his knees. Glad he's back though. Now for the people making fun of him or saying he should leave because he's done, shame on you ! I'm glad he's proving y'all wrong! He's clearly a perfect example for anything who want to surrender at some point in their life , there's always hope ! Stay focus and listen to the voice inside you .!!!
he could have been the second best player in bulls history easily if it werent for the knees.I still have faith he'll come back to compete in the playoffs.
WaffleWacko I think Cleveland would like a word with you. Not to mention DC and Atlanta. Oh and like, every playoff team in the West, as well as a few that didn't even make it. Don't get me wrong, Chicago has a legit team on its hand if (and its a big if at this point, sadly) they can get Derrick Rose back at even 75%. But they don't have him back, and they might not ever. If you think you've got a "serious chance" I think you're being a bit too overly optimistic.
#8 & #5 were the two most amazing alley-oops I have ever seen, the way he just lifted up in the air like he was wearing a jetpack or something was incredible
You don't really lose that bounce just from injury I'm sure he's as strong as ever, it's just like why risk it, rather be playing a different game then watching from home
The reason I don't think this is quite true is because he's had breakaway opportunities and just for social media buzz you would think he would wanna demonstrate one last time he can still yam on em.
Pre injury Rose was a monster, more explosive then Westbrook. I still remember watching his MVP season when he was schooling lebron, wade and bosh. They literally couldn't stop him.
D Rose was the bizness pre-injury! Home grown Chi legend that got a chance to play in the house that MJ built. He carried the torch well. D Rose, Joakim Noah and the rest of that young Bulls squad was the most exciting team in the post Jordan/Pippen era ❤
Una super estrella que al jugar baloncesto el problema no era brincar, si no caer, cada brinco era un temor para el pues estaba latente el romperse la rodilla una vez mas.......Mentalmente difícil jugar a tope así.......
Just to think if Derrick Rose were to never get injured, Jimmy Butler was always playing at the all-star level, The Bulls were still one of the most elite defensive team, and if Fred Hoidberg never became coach, the Bulls could've won the championship
Everyone who says he does not dunk no more look at his dunk at Team USA and preseason vs the Timberwolves. He will be pulling off crazy dunks next year I know it. Because of the knee surgeries his knees have more lift and he already had a 40 inch vertical and it's even higher now
1. Quik In Back Scratchers 2. Back Scratchers Off One 3. Back Scratchers Off Two 4. Straight Arm Tomahawks 5. Athletic One Handers Off One 6. Clutch Reverses Off One
Has anyone else noticed that everytime D Rose goes up to dunk he lands on his left foot first. No wonder why he got injured in that playoff game against the 76ers. His leg could only take so much.
I truly believe pre injury D rose is the most athletic player to ever play in the NBA
WaffleWacko and Gerald Green. But Green ain't as fast as them. He is as strong and explosive as them, and we all know he can jump hella high.
Obviously he had a phenomenal standing reach of roughly 10 ft, but if he had a 50 inch vertical, he could reach well over 1 ft beyond the top of the backboard...not true at all
MrAGlove He did! See he had jumped that high a couple of times and had a base of around a 43 inch vertical
base of around a 43 inch vertical? you dont just randomly jump 7 inches higher a few times. he also didnt have a base of a 43 inch vertical. there is not one video that shows his hand above the top of the backboard....because all of the videos are taken from an elevated angle. elevated angles are meaningless bc the perspective is all wrong...same with videotaping dunks from below the height of the rim...dudes look way higher than they actually are
D.Rose is the perfect mix between:
The quickness of Allen Iverson
The jump of Vince Carter
The shoot of Kobe
...and the health of Grant Hill
waipareil He isnt the greatest shooter but he can shoot when needed.
Not even close to the shot of Kobe hahahah
stormspinner9000 yeah they both miss as much as each other hha
His shot is very far from kobes my friend
+Samuel Wallace true but he got MJ's ability to finish at the rim
D rose before the injuries in my opinion was the most athletic player in nba history. He had the greatest combination of speed, strength, and vertical leap and could dunk on literally anybody with two hands which is really hard to do. Even now he's still arguably the fastest player in the league and the second most athletic at the point guard position behind Russell Westbrook
John Wall???
De aaron fox is the fastest
Lillard might be a match for him in terms of physical capabilities these days but I think D Rose mentally handicaps himself to an extent as well
I swear, it's like people have never seen Dwyane wade play before. Watch the one wade dunk on varajeo to see the pinnacle of athletic ability in a nba guard. Wade posterized and blocked big men routinely too.
@@metsrus he didn't have body control like D Rose though. And his air time was less than Rose
Every dunk he does he lands on one foot rather than both which is prob the reason that his knees are weak
I thought the same thing..
+NingaSquad he was landing stiff kneed
+NingaSquad Possibly a contributing factor. But an interesting thing I just read was that the actual take off of the dunk causes more wear on your knees than the landing. Hence why we haven't seen Derrick dunking all season.
Ur absolutely right
How most players land that get up this high
wouldn't you have loved to seen prime derrick rose vs prime russell westbrook in the nba finals
That'd be a treat
that will never happen
jimmy salgado he said wouldn't you have loved to see . Prime derrick rose is a much different player then you see now it was possible for him and that bulls team to go to the finals if it weren't for the injuries 👌🏻
Die hard knicks Fan since the 90s he cannot do that to lebron
jimmy salgado I'm not saying that ., im the biggest lebron fan ever 😂😂😂but he had that type of talent
He plants so hard before he vaults himself up and only lands on one foot rather than coming down on both feet with his knees at 90 degrees. As exciting as he was to watch, it should be a lesson to up and coming basketball players that playing at 120 mph is a threat to your career

crazyaboutnature I peeped it and I was looking for someone to say this lol
😂😂😂
I sweared heard that shit and got mad!!
Derrick Rose - The Cursed Legend. If only the injuries had never happened 😖
Retired after 15 seasons no matter what he made an impact in my childhood especially making his athleticism unbelievable. Wish he won a NBA championship 😢 at least
I think Rose before injuries more bounce than Westbrook
he did.
He definitely did. Most Athletic PG Ever.
Yup I just watched the Westbrook top 10 and Derrick Rose definitely could evaluate way higher than Him. It's such a shame he can never do this again
+Kai Hamasaki not necessarily I think he can chooses not to for his legs sake
Yeah he can do it he just doesn't want to injure himself again. I feel so bad for him ;(
2 & 1 should be switched in my opinion
I agree.
cmon man he posterized shaq
That wasn’t Shaq.
Facts, never saw and probably we'll never see something like that again by a player, a complete jump and complete two-handed smash on the rim like that, just perfect, it was a posterizing too.
same thing i was about to say
Who is here after D Rose Career high 50 points in Minnesota?
Spencer Szeto vintage d rose 🌹🌹🌹
Damn it’s been almost a year already
2:07 How ironic, Reggie?
Its sad that all his best dunks were when he was with the Bulls! Damn if he hadn't been seriously injured he would have been one of the all-time greats! He's got the heart of a lion and overall a very cool dude.

I agree
+Dark Chief word
G.A.M.A
As he had a career high 50 last night against the Jazz!
he could have been the second best player in bulls history easily if it werent for the knees.I still have faith he'll come back to compete in the playoffs.
He already is the second best Bulls player in history
WaffleWacko I think Cleveland would like a word with you. Not to mention DC and Atlanta. Oh and like, every playoff team in the West, as well as a few that didn't even make it.

Erick Diaz I don't suppose you saw game 3 against Milwaukee did you? 34 points 8 assists for DRose. If you don't know he's back... He's back.
John Abraham I agree 100%
X02Overdose he's not better than scottie
And he is only 6’2, what a legend
Roger li crazy finding that out now
Derrick Rose had other dunks not shown in this video that were just as good as some of these.
If not better
Awesome mix! DRose highlights will echo for an eternity.
#8 & #5 were the two most amazing alley-oops I have ever seen, the way he just lifted up in the air like he was wearing a jetpack or something was incredible
#2 is the #1 dunk all day omg
Who's here after Rose announced his retirement🥺
I bet he can still get up like this but he just don't want to take a chance
yea agree
yes definitely
finally someone said it
You don't really lose that bounce just from injury I'm sure he's as strong as ever, it's just like why risk it, rather be playing a different game then watching from home

This man just played too hard
You can’t play too hard in a professional league. Maybe a park or in the local gym but not the big leagues bro
#2 will always be my favourite dunk ever
i swear derrick rose dunks like spider man
Does spider man dunk? XD
wtCube AC I guess he’s talking about Andrew Garfields version
@@youtubewatcher4955 ah yea the amazing spider one
@I'm 6'4 and I wanna grow more taller what made u fly
His layup game this year were crazy. He made them look better than dunks
Man Derrick Rose was truly great before injuries.
I remember seeing the game live with the number 2 dunk. Shit was HARD! Stil my number 1 off D-Rose.
2k21 and stil watching this crazy guy 👑
8 is pretty amazing. He kinda misjudges the lob but still has time to adjust. Such a drag that he keeps getting hurt, he had so much left in the tank.
The best yet in my eyes. That dunk that murant did against the pacers though🤦🏼♂️🔥.
Pre injury Rose was a monster, more explosive then Westbrook. I still remember watching his MVP season when he was schooling lebron, wade and bosh. They literally couldn't stop him.
the last dunk rose had to keep the ball from being block in mid air thats how athletic he is
1:30 Best throwback Rose Jersey and my favorite dunk
I really wish he never had all those injuries, D-Rose was something special. 💪💪💪
Just like before there was Kobe there was Penny, before Westbrook there was Rose. Tragic.. :(. It's that #1 jersey I'm telling you.
I know what you're trying to get at, but Rose was only in the league for one season before Westbrook was drafted.
They were drafted the same yr.
Thanks for posting.
I miss this guy. He is one of the most talented players I have ever seen. I wish he could get his head back in the game.
Derrick..penny Hardaway
..n grant Hill thosec3 what ifs those injuries hadn't occured
D Rose was the bizness pre-injury! Home grown Chi legend that got a chance to play in the house that MJ built. He carried the torch well. D Rose, Joakim Noah and the rest of that young Bulls squad was the most exciting team in the post Jordan/Pippen era ❤
#2 should definitely be number one it aint even close.
Great Quality
By the far the most athletic pg in NBA history hands down
The healthy D ROSE! very entertaining moves!
this made me cry
Shit fr had a nigga tearing up man.
Very cool post would like again!
The most exciting player I’ve ever seen.. sad to see injury rob him..
#8 is my favorite. The way he climbed the ladder. Luv d rose.
The back scratcher tomahawk he had in November 2010 against the Knicks should no doubt be on here somewhere in the top 3
Really good no#1 pick… people forget but joel anthony was one of the best shotblockers in the league at the time and drose still got him
Una super estrella que al jugar baloncesto el problema no era brincar, si no caer, cada brinco era un temor para el pues estaba latente el romperse la rodilla una vez mas.......Mentalmente difícil jugar a tope así.......
he was my favorite player at one time and i never even watched basketball back than
Good video bro
Buddy off the Phoenix bench stood up on that dragic dunk 😂😂💀💯👌
2:08 "I know his knees are healthy"
Number 6 is the best out of the uncontested dunks. That's a perfect dunk contest dunk, but he did it in game.
Impeccable athlete
Imagine how much force had to pass through his legs for him to jump like that
now make a top 10 injuries of his career video
Go ahead and achieve what he has achieved and then talk.
Oh, and he will eventually get back to this form. You better believe that.
Ashraf Guitooni
No need to be sensative over a light hearted joke.
19acouto92 injuries aren't light hearted. They prevent you from doing things you love, hold you back and cause extreme pain. It's not funny
Just to think if Derrick Rose were to never get injured, Jimmy Butler was always playing at the all-star level, The Bulls were still one of the most elite defensive team, and if Fred Hoidberg never became coach, the Bulls could've won the championship
He used to freakin jump out the arena so effortlessly it seemed .. he was nuts to watch man 💯💯💯
Everyone who says he does not dunk no more look at his dunk at Team USA and preseason vs the Timberwolves. He will be pulling off crazy dunks next year I know it. Because of the knee surgeries his knees have more lift and he already had a 40 inch vertical and it's even higher now
***** He has said in interviews he doesn't dunk anymore.
+J. Corey Buckner so you're telling me, going down fast breaks with no one near him, Rose is not going to Dunk it?
Just a Knicks fan here, gettin ready
Well get ready not to see this cuz sadly prime D Rose is gone
HeyItsN8theGr8 He wasn't even in his prime :(
U ready now bby
Man if only Tom would have took him out of the game instead of leaving him in to bust his knee
Anyone knows the background beat ?
Damn D Rose was a baaaadddddd boyyyy. Still is and always will be. Keep goin at it D Rose.
Derrick Rose is by FAR my favorite all time player
You missing the baseline dunk against the Knicks ! One of my favorite D rose dunks
Rose said this player is dead and gone but he can still dominate by playing under the rim.
some of the craziest hops...
His dunking are amazing, but his landing is what killed his knees and shorterned his prime. He should grab the basket for 2 seconds and land lightly.
derrick rose fan 4 life....NO MATTER WHAT
50 points baby
bacon 123 already know
Derrick Rose is one of the if not the biggest what if in NBA history. Youngest MVP, nearly led his team to the NBA Finals
That's a good beat to this video
my man drose the only dude who can make a 2 handed dunk look sexy
Those landing mechanics hurt my eyes
Dude was literally stomping the ground
#6 & # 1 my favorites
Prime Derrick Rose should remind us we are always reaching higher levels 👊👊 and god will help us get there 🙏
#2 is one of my favorite dunks of all time
Too Sick!!!! Better than all lebron dunks put together!
+catsnake7 I agree! Lebron is a good all around player but his dunks are way way way overrated.
number 2 is the best in-game dunk i´ve ever seen
Number 2 was my #1
1. Quik In Back Scratchers
2. Back Scratchers Off One
3. Back Scratchers Off Two
4. Straight Arm Tomahawks
5. Athletic One Handers Off One
6. Clutch Reverses Off One
4 one of the best dunks
My favorite NBA player
miss this drose
Derrick Rose then Human Highlight machine, Derrick Rose now a no-call no-show
I like the song they got for him.
Has anyone else noticed that everytime D Rose goes up to dunk he lands on his left foot first. No wonder why he got injured in that playoff game against the 76ers. His leg could only take so much.
#2 better than #1 IMHO
Thank you for recording all of these clips with a potato. Wow.
NICE!
ASAP ASAP ASAP ASAP ASAP ASAP. Probs my fav song ever haha
#4 🔥🔥
What's crazy is that game when he first got injured didn't look like anything unusual SMH
If he saw these dunks he'd realize how much force he put on his knees when he lands
no one wonder he is injury plagued, look at all these unsafe landings, coming down on one leg on every dunk? Cmon man!
Number 9. The best dunk of all time
who's better/more athletic prime rose or prime westborook?
