    Thanks, Jack. I really enjoyed seeing the garden as it was just waking up. It will be great to see the follow up videos when things fill in. I like your tips - hosta to cover the allium foliage- helpful for home gardeners. Keep sharing your knowledge, we learn so much from you.

    You have one of the greatest jobs! I can see you don’t mind getting dirty for the end result. Beautiful gardens and that fountain....amazing. Thanks for sharing.😁

    I really love seeing your whole process of Mackinac Island gardening with the early spring tours, the thought process behind design elements and the “bones”/structural/anchor elements so prominent. I’m a little jealous of your crew! It’d be my dream job to tend gardens on Mackinac for the season!!!! I hope you also take us back for a visit later in the season! Thanks again for sharing.

    I am loving these videos. I like just seeing the beautiful gardens and getting ideas for my own yard. But it's great that you're also adding in gardening tips along the way. Thanks for taking the time to post, I know how time consuming it can be.

    Beautiful!! Garden Answer toured this garden showing it in late summer. Fun to watch that next to see how much the gardens evolved in just a few months.

    Lookin’ good 🌞 You have a great sense of humour (so cute). So cool your brother also has a biz on the island. I’d wager he could have an interesting and creative RUclips channel too... After seeing your tour of your grandmas place I assume you grew up running around this storybook place. It must be a love filled career that you’re sharing with all of us. I feel it vicariously while I’m watching.

    I have so much respect for you. You inspire me!

    Jack, just love all the work you do up on Mackinac. The whole island is beautiful. Wish I lived there and could work for you. Hoping to get there this summer. Take care and keep up the great work you do there and in Florida. Love your videos.

      I would love to be a part of Jack's team up on the island. Even if just for one summer.

    Absolutely lovely. You have my dream job. Great examples of keeping the plantings simple and succession planting. For such a huge landscape. I would bet the most maintenance is the putting green?

    Oh I was so happy to see this! I don't know how I missed it - I'm subbed. But, thank goodness I did! It took me a minute to figure out this (Cimicifuga 'Chocoholic') plant and find one online to look at. Wow! I love that and how pretty mixed in with the other garden colors! I love historic water features and waited to see if you would add the clip! Thank you!! Great video!

    I live in a zone 3b (Edmonton, Alberta) and so it's so reassuring to see that my astilbes and hostas are not lagging behind, but rather right on course haha! Thank you for showing us the spring clean ups! I remember Laura walking through this garden in it's prime and it's crazy to see the difference between the seasons! Would love to see a fall walk through!

      How long do your perennial usually last? I’m in Arkansas which I realize is quite a bit different from you, but I was strange for me to see hostas and day lilies not fully awake.

    • @maryanadublanko1732
      @maryanadublanko1732 4 года назад

      @@michaellasagna7216 Do you mean how long do they last for the season? They start to poke through the ground around mid May and they last until about late September. As soon as get a chilly night, the tender leaves can't handle it so they wilt and die off. Then we cut them back in preparation for the winter. Repeat every spring :p

    Loved the tour of this garden during the Grand Garden Show last August!! It was one of my favorites! So nice to see it in the spring! One question - could you talk a little about those fenced in vegetable areas at about 8:11 in the video? I remember liking how they did that to keep critters out, (removable sides?) but now I can't remember how they did it. If anyone else knows, feel free to comment! Thanks.

    Stunning property!! I want to see those alliums in bloom along that wall followed by the hostas. Wondering where you store all your annuals for the amount of planting you do on the island? Do you have giant greenhouses?

      We are about a 4b on the island~ our springs are later and fall lasts longer though due to warm water temps surrounding the island in fall~~
