filling it to the brim makes it more likely for the freezing to rupture the bottle, you can fill it closer to 90% full with water and position the bottle such that the dent is pointed upwards. This makes the air bubble positioned against the dent and when the water freezes it with increase pressure against the dent until it pops out. With this method you definitely do not want to fully fill the bottle.
Just about all my stainless steel water bottles have battle scars. I get bent out of shape when it happens. Maybe I should have a frozen carbonated drink?
Bro I just got this new water bottle. I loved it, I put stickers on it,it was perfect. No dents and anything. I even went out of my way to grab the one off the shelf that didn’t have any dents in it. And then the next day right after I got it, I dropped it in a store and now there this giant pimple ugly dent in it 😭
This did work for me. The small dent was gone. But it ended up making it worse the bottom pushed out and the skin started to peel and now it cant stand up anymore. So yeah and I had to get a new bottle.
@@mickylene no. it has to be filled all the way because when the water expands only half-way filled up, it will go up rather than outwards if you filled it all the way.
Clever. It looks like the freezing causes the water in the Pepsi to expand and the carbon dioxide gas pressurizes the bottle further since the gas does not freeze and does not have anywhere to go but to push outward.
my dad's girlfriend gave me a swell water bottle and the first week of using it i accidently dented it... my dad is very dissapointed but i hope with this i can repare it!
It depends what they are made of. If it's just metal, it should work fine. But if there's other material inside for insulation (like plastic or glass), it could shatter. You need to check.
Hitomi Reiki mine has the same issue but unfortunately this will not work. The bottle in the video is not insulated. Insulated bottles will not let the water cool down.
very true - I tried this with a hydroflask and the liquid would not freeze in the freezer - I should have realized that the double insulation keeps cold out just as well as cold in. :)
I would worry that the expanding soda would push too hard on the plastic and crack it. Maybe try with water first, then adding a little carbonated soda.
Did anyone know how to fix sweating hydro flask bottel? My 4 or 5 years old 40oz hydro flask bottle is sweating now, after i keep the bottle emty inside of my car for 3 to 4 monts.
Same question here wish I could help wish your question was at least answered with an I don't know but of course when it's something small it's viewed as insignificant even it brings a great imbalance to your cup. Hopefully you get an answer cause I'm dying to know the same thing as the dent isn't so prominent to where it's protruding in the inside of the cup.
If the dent is much smaller, I might suggest trying just freezing water or mixing a small amount of pop with water to reduce the amount of expansion. Experiment!
Good question. It depends on how your bottle is made, but you could probably use a mallet and gently knock the bottom back inwards. Just guessing though.
yes, but it will most likely pop the lid off and will create a mess. Just water would be a safer bet, but leave some room in there for water to expand.
igam ogham dented bottle, Pepsi freezer out, from this school picking game. ickle ockle chocolate bottle ickle ockle out. hahahahahaha or is it just me can see it ......

Unlikely, with such huge dents. He would have to keep repeating the process many times, thought. Eventually it could burst.
I love how many views this got... I'm glad I'm not the only one that dents their water bottles LOL
Elizabeth Flowers LOL

My bottle has extremely thin metal so I’m a little apprehensive about trying this haha

What an absolute mad lad
Does this work with hydro flasks?

Thank you! That was super useful and really entertaining, thank you for saving my bottle.💕
now use acetone to remove the paint.
Thanks for sacrificing carbonated soda for Science , I will give a try I have many dents in my metal bottle
how did it go
A scientist who wants to put a metal bottle into the microwave... 🤣
What if the dented one is the metal cap of the metal bottle? How do i fix it? Is this trick gonna work for the cap as well?
Note
Don’t fill full of water
Keep eye on it otherwise it will split the bottle surface
Imagine an alien from another galaxy watching this video on their own alien youtube, wondering how weird us humans are
Surprised there weren't any body parts in the freezer
Tanner Rhodes it’s candid, they took them out before hand
My bottle dropped out of my bag today and fell on the road and a car ran it over
Hi will it work for a copper bottle? My bottle just slipped frm my hand n have huge dent.....
Same
You shouldn't deep freeze copper bottles
Which liquid have you filled inside the bottle ???
It was not liquid it was Pepsi 😅
Does it remove every dent on metal thermos bottle?
Will the bottle explode
what about hydro flask water bottles.....?

JD Hobbes mines out of stainless steel. so would it work?
My thin aluminium bottle dent gone but now bottle is broken
Ice broke the bottle and popped out from that dent area ..
I DENTED SOMETHING ELSE AND MOM'S NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

@@isha3418 Really? You tried?
This did not work at all and I tried it twice! I'm so sad as my water bottle was brand new and my favorite.
Can u use coke?
As long as its carbonated, it doesn't matter what brand you use.
shame to waste the Pepsi ... what if bottle is thermos and two layers ?
Soda sucks. Not a waste at all.
Will this work with a double walled insutor flask? (The dent is small and is the external wall)

Does it do the same with the copper bottle?
Will this work with hard plastic water bottles?
I would worry that the expanding soda would push too hard on the plastic and crack it. Maybe try with water first, then adding a little carbonated soda.
JD Hobbes I tried using all water, when it froze up, nothing happened. Bottle basically stayed the same. I tried it on a dumbbell water bottle
Then try mixing water and carbonated soda to try to control the pressure of expansion.
Does it work for thermosteel water bottles ???
Does this work for Hydro Flasks to?😂
Sorry to ask.
ThisIsn’t_ Rae. Did it work for you because that's why I'm watching this?
It won't because the hydro has an inner liner. The bottle he's using is just a single layer
which raelin ? I came to watch this video because I dented my hydro flask
the short answer is "no"

WTF i have the same bottle
I'm going to try this for my S'well ... but can someone buy this guy a new water bottle!?
Alison Bolognese did it work for your swell bottle?
Annamarie Wheeler nope. I left it in the freezer for several days too. I think swell walls are too strong.
