Acceleration is indeed the biggest culprit but it's also the surge in power and rpm that actually provides the fun element.

Great Points, thank you - Some other items 1. Clean spark plug with proper gap adjustment 2. Replace normal spark plugs every 10000 kms or as per recommendation, If it is iridium tipped it can last for much longer time and produce better sparks 3. Proper Chain slack adjustment and cleaning and lubrication frequently. Tight chain can cause friction and very loose chain comes with risk of it coming out 4. Understanding torque delivery, Riding at RPMs higher than the RPM at which peak torque is produced leads to less mileage. Hard revving beyond this peak torque RPM leads to making more sound and higher fuel consumption. If a motorcycle makes max torque at 7000rpm, pushing it beyond this results in higher fuel consumption and is pointless. 5. Riding at higher speed leads to increased fuel consumption due to wind drag. This will be more with naked bikes 6. Using synthetic oil helps with reduced carbon deposit in engine leading to better and efficient operation for longer time. Frequently checking oil level and topping up if needed 7. Check if wheels are rotating freely, at times brake pads if not maintained well might be rubbing against disks. 8. Coolant - If green coolant is used (Inorganic Acid tech.) better to drain it off and fill the radiator with fresh coolant once every 3 years or as recommended by manufacturer. Organic and Hybrid Organic Acid Tech based coolants come with higher replacement intervals. 9. Higher Octane fuel does not help with improving mileage or power. It is required to be filled for engines that come with high compression ratio or unless mentioned by manufacturer, typically more than 11:1 ratio and is designed only to avoid petrol pre-detonation. Otherwise it is just waste of money. Please fill good fuel from a reputed fuel pump. 10. If you love to ride at high RPMs please go for bikes with engines that make power/torque at higher RPMs (example: KTM duke etc.). if you prefer sedate/relaxed riding at low and mid range RPMs at sane speeds it would be better to go for bikes that make good torque early in RPM range like Honda Highness, Enfield vehicles etc. Generally Oversquare engines (Bore larger than Stroke) with 4 valves are good for higher RPM riding while the Square Engines (Bore and Stroke equal) are good for Mid Range and Under Square Engines (Bore smaller than Stroke) are good for Low to Mid range RPMs. Most commuter bikes come with Square engines (FZ, Pulsar etc.) while Honda Highness, Enfield families mostly come with Under square engines.

Check if wheels are square. You have no clue. KTM Duke is a single, low rev torque curve. Yes, fuel makes a difference because you get poorer fuel economy with ethanol additive fuels.
Way to summarize internet BS, but you didn't even mention cleaning the air filter or proper tire pressure.
Just shift sooner and keeps revs low, it not rocket appliances.

Thank you Sir for this informative video. Great insights. One quick question for point related to vapour losses. For my daily commute I only get 500 Rs worth of petrol filled every 15 days which is less than 50% of tank capacity (Honda Unicorn 13 L tank). Considering this scenario, will vapour losses would outdo the mileage benifit gained from less fuel weight?

Hi from Australia. Thank you for your coveraged of the new 452 at EICMA. Subscribed :)
Yes tyre pressures are crucial. I pump mine up to max indicated on the side of the tyre. It helps a great deal. Even more so is speed 60km/h is ideal. As you double your speed you quadruple your drag from the air.
Also on my Himalayan I found the rear brake was dragging slightly. Some oil on the calipre slides fixed this.

Hi Sir, could you explain how more load put on alternator when more electrical items are added on the bike?
The earlier motorcycles were consuming power for the headlights and other electrical items directly from alternator however nowadays almost all the manufacturer started providing the power to electrical items from the battery and alternator provides the power to charge the battery and the load on alternator would be constant. (This is my understanding).

Too little input parameters: how much distance do you cover, how are you with the throttle, where do you ride ( city, highway, hills, country roads) with pillon without pillon, tyre pressure and much more without these it's hard to even give a estimate based on mileage got by other gt650 owners

    • @bigbearbangalore

@mysteriousmystic3350 yes and how to improve mileage from what one is already getting right now is my input. Road conditions, load conditions and route being generally the same. Thanks.

    Hello Saar, Namaskar
    Hengiddiri,
Please give some instructions on how to maintain a scooter, including how to check the oil, determine which parts require replacement, and replace any that are needed during a service.
A top-notch service and repair facility would have to give way.
If at all possible, please modify the original part for the duplicate part, especially for Suzuki Access riders, since section 01 is the scooter section.
If a scooter service lies about a part needing to be replaced, we will have no idea and will simply say replace it. We will not know whether he is lying or not and will simply say yes replace it. Please help us on simple steps to know what is reality.

@@bigbearbangalore Thank you so much for responding. Its an honour.
if i had to pick 3 .. I would go for (not in any order )
1, Harley davidson x440.. Saw your video as well on this.
      2, Honda CB 350 RS/H’ness CB350
      3, Royal Enfield - (Hunter 350 or Meteor 350)
My concerns are around comfort on ride .
since i have been riding Honda Unicorn love this engine. Being 165 cm tall give less choice .

Octane boosters do nothing. They just avoid knock on high compression engines. All octane rating does is slow the burn of gas.

Fill to just where it touches the bottom of the filler hole ring. To the cap rubber seal is not recommended.
