    The Cyberpunk one is almost definitely just supposed to be Anthony's mother. The fact you could scan her was likely just an accident, especially since it was removed. Chances are the name was a random one you can get by scanning any of the unnamed pedestrians in-game.

      A lot of games also use invisible NPCs as placeholders. For example, if someone calls your character on the phone, they just spawn an invisible NPC behind you that talks to you. That is actually the easiest way to do a lot of things in video games because the game engine has a lot of advanced functions for NPCs that have been heavily tested. One famous example is that the train in Fallout 3 is an NPC that has a train hat and the NPC just runs really fast to simulate the train moving. I've seen enough examples of this to know that the "secret offscreen npc" is often not some intentional easter egg.

    The D-Day one isn't quite a mystery since it was discovered that you can summon the demon (Moloch) in one of the early missions by blowing up a church and then creating a pentagram from things that appear out of the rubble using engineer unit. I suppose the real mystery is what a literal demon is doing in the game anyway, but I suppose that red balloons as an easter egg weren't all the rage for developers just yet.

That particular level has the team infiltrate the home were a cult has gone violent, and they have graves for children and the rituals take place in the basement. Someone had an interview with the director of Faith and the clown nose from chapter 1 and 2 was an Easter egg that didn't get anywhere about John being scared of Clowns. The whispering in the appartment complex makes sense in the context of the game as there are cult members behind or in the walls everywhere and just adds to the creepy ambience of the moment.

    • @QuantumWaltz
      @QuantumWaltz 8 месяцев назад

      The point about the whispering is especially accurate considering all of the actions described are... already things the cult has done? Bar the thing with the President, of course, but it's not out of the question considering their goals are to bring about the Biblical Apocalypse, and there's a good chunk in Revelation about nations destabilizing and corrupt leaders being installed by - in some interpretations - outright devilish forces.

    • @FunkyGhostHD
      @FunkyGhostHD 8 месяцев назад +10

      The thing is those whispers are in the style of newspaper articles and/or archival text and in pretty formal in terms of tone. They are either about actual events or written to feel like so. Also, couldn't match any of them to actual events from the game. And finally searching key points on Google didn't yield any results. I'm very curious about what those are.

    My best guess for the Cyberpunk 2077 is that the figure outside is Johnny Silverhand.
    Why? He still moves even when editing mode is paused. Johnny demonstrated in some braindances that he can appear and comment something during the braindance, even while in editing mode and be unfazed by a pause, as he's in V's head.
    Also, his pose and movements look like his usual while smoking and standing, waiting for V's next move. He appears multiple times like that during the whole game and sometimes he's very hidden, always watching and judging V's actions.

    I also scanned the figure in Cyberpunk 2077 - for me it was a different name. It's likely unintentional. The game generates names randomly for pedestrians.
    I didn't realize "the figure" had caused so much mystery - I thought it was well known and accepted that the figure was Anthony having a flashback to seeing his mother behind the curtain like the old days. His father blaming him for her death I assumed was projection of grief, not a direct accusation that he had a hand in her death. She died very young, so it can be assumed that giving birth came with complications that unfortunately led to her death. His father blamed him for things that happened that no one could have anticipated or controlled - trauma raising trauma.
    As for the mysterious figure outside of the barn - the devs mistakenly left Johnny Silverhand right there at the edge of bounds where we could see him. You can see his trademark stance in the video above. No other character in the game has Johnny's animations save for V when he takes over. My best guess is that without him in the scene, the game would break and it was quicker just to stick him somewhere out of the way.
    "The Hunt" and River's questline is one of my favorites in the game because it's rare a game really delves into a "Law and Order" style storyline. Chasing clues and eventually experiencing the crimes and life of the killer through their eyes is an uncomfortable but very humanizing experience. It explores the trouble cops deal with daily and how the monsters they have to chase sometimes come to be. You get to experience both sides of justice first-hand.

      It's an easter egg that's been found in the game, you can blow up a church in one of the missions and summon him by then blowing up a series of runes to make a pentagram. Do it in the right order and he'll obey your commands, do it wrong and he'll attack your units.

    So two things.
    The Swat 4 might be connected to 9th mission, Children of Taronne Tenement. The mission deals with a cult that planned on making a massive fertilizer bomb and bombing themselves. Given the cult and the fact there's an actual children graveyard in the basement of the flat you go to, the convulsing "gargoyle" may theoretically be a cut animation or concept for that mission. Granted I am only speculating, but it would make sense.
    The whispering in Faith the Unholy Trinity is most likely connected to the events of the game. You actually visit a "dungeon under a classroom" in the level after the apartment. The kidnapping children and impregnating cult members probably has to do with the "Second Death" ritual the cult does (the details of which I will NOT be discussing here). Without hearing the audio one for one, I can't comment any more connections. But this Easter Egg is probably just connected to the game's lore and world.

    Most likely the ultrakill one is related to the arg (most likely the next act) since well the game isn't unknown to creepy stuff such as the spine staircase and the arg which was linked to p-2 and showed the panopticon (although this was found a year ago so yeah could be p-1)

      Also I didn't mention this but in the lore of ultrakill robots killed humanity it's either that or divine intervention, this might actually be the thing that proves that the robots killed humanity because of the screams from the husks and the husks are meant to be bodies of the living as well as the streetcleaners that burned them

  • @s.camerahead7563
    @s.camerahead7563 5 месяцев назад +1

    I did some experimentation with the Ultrakill one, and found some things out:
    1. The audio ISN'T dependent on whether you put the skull back on the pedestal or not
    2. It's actually also not dependent on if you kill the enemies in the starting area or not
    3. It IS dependent on whether enemies are active in that room or not- whether or not the enemies in the starting area are alive, if you kill the enemies in the blue skull room, the audio immediately cuts.
    4. Regardless of if there are enemies still in the room, it fades out if you open the secret shortcut underneath with the
    railgun, even before dropping down
    Based on this, I think the weird audio is actually the "in-battle" music for after the actual music cuts (as triggered by the burning hallway), but before the music for the rest of the level is triggered by going back to the start area. Still something the average player wouldn't hear- you'd probably clear out the enemies before moving onto that hallway, and if you didn't, you're probably going for speed and wouldn't stick around to notice it. Still no idea what it's saying- I might try to see if it's possible to track down in the files.

    So, there are a couple of important details about Endacopia's story that help explain the mystery message. First: The Mallow isn't lost, he was abandoned and found by Henry based on the images on the computer. Second: Henry regularly caves Mallow's head in based on the toilet creature comment. Third: The doctor reveals that his main job is reviving the dead, attaching extra limbs, and creating monsters like Clockey. Finally, Mallow ends back in his room whenever he dies, calls his death a "horribly intrusive thought" and stares directly at the "player" on numerous occasions.

      The figure might be there to represent some semblance of conscience and/or awareness that he knew what he was doing was wrong. It's not uncommon for people to feel like they're being watched, judged even, when there's nobody actually there because the brain is processing the dissonance of knowing you're transgressing some boundary or taboo in a sensory way. If you've ever heard someone describe a feeling like they have "the eyes of God" upon them while relaying something they clearly feel shame about it's the same sort of thing.
