I've been following this build for a long time. I'm so happy you got it going, and it's coming into its own. Fantastic job! I love this build. This is what separates the men from the boys. Very well done sir.
Mark! Great to see this finally turning wheels...had forgotten all about it until I came across the casting patterns last month and decided to do some searching to see did you ever complete it. Bravo! Regards, Brian, Ireland,
first time I heard of you was back in 2009-2010, I had just bought my first ferrari a 456 which needed a main bearing re-grind. I just remember myself and the chief mechanic at the local ferrari place just awed when looking at your build back then. So cool to see that you got there in the end, looking fwd to new pictures of videos on this. And love the wheel :-)
Oh man, I was replaying that first burnout for a minute and I had no idea there was another still to come. Thank you for not cutting that restart in the driveway out of the video, so we got to see it start with just a tiny flick of the key. Sounds ready to roar.
Plus I can't remember what box I put the shift gate (haven't needed it in 15 year now) in so I was just guessing where the shift might want to go to find the gear I wanted
yes, wondered what just a little throttle would do at like 2:40 I gave it 30% throttle (60kPA MAP) in 1st then around 3:00 its almost 40% throttle(65kPA) in 2nd...i just wasn't expecting so little throttle to cause such a reaction like that....its got some power 😲
My wife keeps trying me we should move to France! .I wonder if I cold bring this car? Where I am I register it as a classic which means very few actual rules and I'm out in the country where the noise isn't a big deal so the idea of a new place scares me a little
@@mark_gemellocattivo The French are the kings of paperwork, they would drive you crazy before you can make your car road legal in France unfortunately. Have you ever been to France? Unlike the french 😅, I should mention that I was born in Ukraine, I think France is a great place to live.
its a 3 disc carbon-carbon clutch set up for 800ft-lbs so its good. I'm currently missing the shift gate so just guessing where the gear are but 2nd does seem a bit elusive.
It's not short on power, that's for sure. I appreciate your commitment to this build. It's going to be an amazing machine when you have it all sorted.

Is this the 456 engine?

Brian! I still smile every time I look at the cam end covers you made for me. 🤗
Sounds phenomenal. Even moreso given the fact that you built it all from scratch.
Absolutely marvelous.

Sounds fantastic! Thanks for the update. Need more heat in that gearbox to smooth out the shifts. Looking forward to the next one
Classic cold Ferrari 'box not wanting to get second! So fantastic to see it out after all this time!

Looking good. Can’t wait to see more of the progress. Thanks for sharing
Works for me!!! Thanks for sharing.
Sounding good!
2:53 it almost got away from ya. Great sound

Music for the soul.
Maybe that even cleared out those clogged valves?
sadly no, that will require another engine pull but I wanted to a little play time first
Great progress, thanks for sharing, greetings from Marseille, FR

I think you could use a traction control unit on that..looks like its really a handful when you get it too the higher RPM:s
What’s the rubber? Maybe it requires something stickier to avoid unexpected burnouts?
yes. they are 285s but 20 years old summer tires and hard as rocks on a 50F day. I've holding replacing them until the car drives properly
madness
so damn cool
Nice to see it and hear it roll! Clutch not slipping? Was there any gear linkage issue?
