    After that first video I thought she would be a lot more anxious about all the new stuff but she seems like she has such a lovely, trusting personality. Congratulations on finding her, she looks amazing and couldn't have found a better home than with you.

    Well this young lady is quite clearly part unicorn. First of all their is the coloring and really cool tail but more importantly it looks like she might not land which means she probably has only recently shed her foal wings and horn. U need to keep her away from "magic" clover and leprechauns. If she discovers she can still fly she will become really hard to work with.

    What a wonderful baby!!! You can see she came from a good breeder/home. I'm shocked at how quiet she was with the desensitizing!! I've re-started ottbs who were far jumpier than her! Looking forwards to seeing her progress----and color transformation :D

    I missed seeing this video last month! Fernanda is beautiful! I love all the snorts when she was running around at the first showings. She's a lucky horse to be chosen by you, Lauren. You really know how to get the best out of a jumper and you take such good care of your horses. I'm looking forward to seeing lots more of Fernanda. It was great to see Boo, too!

    Did the storm go to her head? 😂 She seems to have quite a lot of bounce.
    Quite a lot of the ponies didn't get their weekend turn out here, so they are very fresh. The stable was able to give the horses a couple of hours in the arena in smaller groups, sadly some horses had to be excluded.

    Ohhhh, she's incredibly lovely! A brilliant mover, so much scope (from your earlier free jump video), and what a great mind! You have picked a winner! You are doing a wonderful job of bringing her along! She's happy and confident. Is she coming 4 this year? I'm sure you said it somewhere, so apologies for asking. Wishing the best with her!!

  • @Anchored4

  • @SarahG1183
    @SarahG1183 4 года назад +2

    I like the freedom of her movement and it will only get better when you starting working on getting her balanced. I will say from the video clip she's incredibly smart and doesn't take long to get the hang of things. And damn, that tail is so full! (added bonus!) Not even a change in the ears when you popped on her back, so chill. It will be fun to see if she remains this chill or she's easily excited!

    Just purely curious. Starting to put weight on her back in her stall. Is that a safety concern? I've always been told that an outdoor yard or larger space is safer in case she was to react (rear or shoot forward). Just curious about your opinion on this.

    • @taixtaio
      @taixtaio 4 года назад +1

      Sunset Girl xoxo just my opinion here, completely uneducated really, but my friend sat on her horse for the first time as it was her ‘safe space’ saying this, she is a rescue.

    • @MF-qh8pg
      @MF-qh8pg 4 года назад +6

      Lots of people back their horses like this. Yes there is the risk off them rearing but roofs are usually high enough to counter that. Most horses are very comfortable in their stable and there are less distractions than say a big indoor where it is more likely they’ll spook. Also means the horse can’t bolt and potentially injure themselves and others or get a bigger fright. Personally, I don’t think there’s one correct way to back or train a horse and all factors need to be considered including the trainers preference (which will usually end better because of skill) and the way the individual horses brain works eg I would back a claustrophobic horse in a smaller outdoor arena

    • @harrisonpage4115
      @harrisonpage4115 4 года назад +2

      Many people including where I work we sit on them in the stable for the first time. It’s a safe space that’s controlled rather than a big open space with outdoor distractions/ noises etc.

    she seems like that show jumper you see on TV where you go:
    Oh wow, that horse is crazy! Lots a lot of horse! He's probably all stressed out all the time!
    when really back at the cross ties/stables the horse acts like Fernanda, and is such a saint and sweet and calm, but as soon as theres a space to run, or sees jumps the horse is crazy again. Like Fernanda. I bet you your gonna have a winner on your hands because she loves to run!

    When she puts her head down and does licking and chewing motion, turn your back to her and she'll come to your right shoulder! I urge you to watch Marty Roberts vids on RUclips! The "Join-up" one esp!
    When the horse puts head down and licks or makes a chewing motion, it means "I want to come back into the herd and eat grass and or suckle my Mother! When you turn your back it means "come back in!". Also when she does this it means she doesn't like what you are trying to make her do! Or she doesn't understand what it is you want her to do!

    Also horses hate those "blankets" and they don't need them for warmth at all! The reason she was kicking and bucking a little bit is because she's trying to get the unnecessary stupid blanket off her back! If you watch Marty Roberts Join-up and listen and watch him and the horse very carefully to learn his method, you'll be riding the horse in 30 minutes!! No joke! Forget months!
