He wrote this song months ago when juice died for his daughter. He didn't want to be in the position where he hadn't said everything he wanted to say to his daughter. He was scared cause he was still kinda heavy on the drugs and was scared that it coulda been him. So he had wrote it and sent it to her to listen and I don't know how much he changed the sound for this album or if he wrote it exactly like this when he first wrote it for her.

Bro like, here's a thought I just had:
This album "Tickets To My Downfall" is literally him predicting his own downfall and making a production out of it. He welcomes the audience with the first track, throws back bottles of liquor and drowns himself in drugs and sex for the opening act in the second track, then starts peeling back the layers behind it all with each track. It all ranges from childhood trauma, toxic relationships and his inability to recognize affection without living in extremes, the loss of his loved ones and his consequential survivor's guilt, and how it all impacts his current emotional state, his personal relationships, and the state of his business.
This last song is more than just a farewell track addressed to his daughter. It's also a prediction of what his final moments will be like and a testament to how SHE is what will matter most to him in those moments and how she was what made him Machine Gun Kelly in the first place.
So to sum all that up, we literally are watching his downfall from beginning to end. It's on record, and when/if it does happen, because he made this album, he'll know he went out in style instead of just taking it quietly. I think that's the type of energy that went into it behind the scenes. That's my take on it, and I think that's why this album is more punk rock than anything I've ever heard from Descendents, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Sex Pistols. Anything, dude.

My husband died of an overdose May of 2021. I made a slideshow of pictures to this song for our children and his family. This song sounded like words from my husband to myself and our kids. It breaks my heart every time I hear it but it's also comforting. Mgk has this way of being vulnerable and letting you into his life, but being so relatable to those of us going through the same struggles and pain.
This is for his daughter. My 15 year old daughter heard me listening to this song and started crying. She said she wish she had a dad like mgk. Her dad is also an addict and has never wanted to be in her life. MGK is an amazing father and just an amazing person.
I respect Ernest for being open-minded about mgk's new music unlike many Eminem stans who just write him off without even giving Hotel Diablo or Tickets to My Downfall a fair listen... you can not like the guy but you can't deny he's talented and is putting his heart into his newer music.

The difference between MGK and everybody else is MGK is just trying to tell his story and he's just trying to get people to hear him and everybody else is selling their soul for money and women and cars and jewelry. That's the difference between Colson and everybody else, his whole life he's been just trying to get people to hear him and FINALLY people are hearing him but at the end of the day those demons continue screaming in our heads when we lay down to go to sleep at night and the silence is so loud that it's deafening and the loneliness is suffocating. That's my personal struggle, every single day. That's why I thank you for giving me my little bit of happiness everyday with your videos because it makes the voices in my head stop and it fills the void with a little bit of Hope and happiness. I could write a book with everything I've went through, like literally everyone that loved me died and the one person I was left here with is the one person that didn't want me in the first place, I called her mom. She's always looked at me with disgust and never showed any type of motherly love towards me. Still to this day I'm 43 years old and she still is mentally, emotionally, spiritually abusing me and her goal is this song. That's her goal, she thinks if she pushes me and keeps pushing me she'll end up pushing me into my grave but what she doesn't know is that I've never been weak. I was forced to be strong and responsible but she's never worked a day in her life and she keeps boyfriends around who have good jobs but have drinking problems or some kind of issue so they don't see her for her issues and her drug abuse that she had in the past. I swear, it's crazy, I beg her and beg her everyday just to talk nice to me, I'm never going to get her to love me but I give her permission to fake liking me if it will save a little bit of my mental health but she can't even fake it. So Colson has literally saved my life on numerous occasions and doesn't even know it. I hope he knows how much he's loved, till we die 💯

A long time viewer but first time commenting. I just wanted to say thanks for explaining addiction in a deeper level. There’s a huge difference if you just go hard on the weekends it isn’t drug addiction. Addiction is so debilitating and misunderstood and seen as hand in hand with crime but when you are one it’s the loneliest, darkest times of your life.
No one grows up hoping to become an addict.

Damn. Unfortunately, I understand all too well, exactly what Kells is trying to say to his daughter. I have already written goodbye letters to both my boys, and their mothers. Sometimes the anxiety and depression are so overwhelming, and you get to the point where you are compelled to say your good-byes. It is a painful feeling, the thought that you are leaving all that you hold dear behind. My boys are my everything, and are literally the only reason I am still alive. However, there are days when the weight is so heavy, even their love cannot lift it up.

This song is so good it's the best when I'm gone song because he's being honest saying he isn't gonna say everything will be alright when he's gone because especially at first, nothing is alright when your parent dies, but that the crying she's going to do when he's gone is alright.
