    Firstly , don’t touch the ports if you ain’t got a clue as your more likely to damage performance rather than gain performance. Knowing 2 stroke performance exhausts your stinger is far to long ( end of your front pipe ) . Change the carb to a bigger carb , don’t pee around with jets unless you know what you doing . Don’t pee with reeds , change with race ones as they be set up already close to help you run right . Just changing petals you could buy the wrong type where it under travels or over travels. ( petal don’t flex enough or over flex’s ) don’t remove the transfer from the intake , it’s there for a reason , stops heat cooking your fuel in the carb , reason why all bike are mounted this way . Remove the injection pump and make a plate to cover the hole . Powering the injection pump zaps power from the motor and being a small cc you want more power by every means . Always run a rich oil mix at first , better to fowl a plug then run with less oil and seizing . When it’s as hot as it can be it should produce a v v fine haze of smoke , your mix is close to where it’s right . Am surprised this bike ran when it got really hot , probably the reason your not seen tanking it out because when it warmed up it broke down

    hi mate yes you sould of use the hexi spacer because the piston is a tight in the bore when you first put it in but when it wears in the hexi spacer pushes the ring out to make a better seal if you remove you head and piston after wearing it in you will see that the piston moves very freely in the bore and this is when the spacer really helps just to give you that better seal =)

    this takes me back 10 years :D i had done most of what u had done, but i just bought a dolorto 21mm carborator. and im pretty sure my mallossi sylinder was 48mm.

    My first bike at 16 back in 84. 75cc bore kit, power pipe. Mallossi carburetor (no reeds). K&N air filter. Went great. My mate had one (same set up)and could pull power wheelies in second gear and mine couldn't. I knew he had changed one of the sprockets either the front or back one but wouldnt tell me... i messed about with various size back wheel sprockets but just couldnt get it right. He told me years later it was an extra tooth on the front sprocket. I remember a bike copper pulling up next to me on the ncr near stonebridge and tapping on my helmet. I took my helmet of and he said to me "do me a favour, slow down a bit will you". good times.

    An 85 "C" reg was my first ped in 1988. Came with full Gianelli exhaust and after a filter change was just about good for 45 mph. Within the month I fitted an Aurtisa? 65cc kit, reeds, larger jet and a 15 tooth sprocket though I kept auto oil but increased ratio. Jack up kit of course and 65-70mph. Best bit was those bores had 49cc stamped on the side so plod was none the wiser. We did polish and port the barrel though.

    Good days my friend of an era gone by. I still think one of the best 50 ccs ever. It wasn't so much the bike but the times enjoyed with it. Nice one still got mine 22 years old and mot next week if covid 19 allows.. Keep motoring !!!

      Hey "Super Mawnanite" you just spun me right out lol. I was reading through a couple comments and the first few a from 10yrs ago then yours came up in the middle of them. I started reading agreeing with you and thinking of the day I can get my 1990 tsx back together and next thing it says is "COVID19"! I'm thinking WTF! this was 10yrs ago. Wow dude don't do that s£#t! Lol

      Ha ha, yeah I can see how that might of been a Scooby Doo Zikes moment... Haven't passed another TS50x on the road or seen one parked up in at least 10 years. That's why its worth getting it back on the road again, rare species nowadays.....and always gets a look from those who remember the days.

    if you have only got one to hand put it on the bottom but try and get two try and pike one off your local dealer for a couple of quid its worth it i found that when i dismantled my engine befor i saw that gases had been leaking past the first ring because after i wore in the new bore kit the top ring didnt push far out enough because there was no spacer there hence why i put one on each ring and its worked a treat loads of compretion and ticks over well low too with ease =D

  • @masretals
    @masretals 15 лет назад +1

    i put a a 70cc bore kit on mine but i didnt include the hexirings i have never used them before so i didnt include it how ever it started first kick and i have already began breaking the engine in and it has tons of compression. for my carb it was a 67.5jet and is now a 77.5 i might go up to 80 but i hope the hexagon ring missing wont effect the engine it seems ok it was a tight fit as it was. on the read block instead of replacing the reads i bent the read stoppers up a fraction

    Great video, but I have to dissagree when it comes to the piston expension rings. With a good piston and ring kit, thy should not be needed. If you are using a cylinder that has been bored or honed alot, I would recommend them. They add friction which makes the rings wear to the cylinder and get the correct shape quicker. With a new and good quality cylinder/piston+rings, they are perfectly round and should not need to wear to the correct shape as much.
    What you said about removing the plastic gasket between the cylinder and carb is a great advice! By experience a longer intake gives more power and efficiency, but at the cost of throttle response. I used up to 15cm long intakes and seen improvement in power with that

  • @rebound92
    @rebound92 15 лет назад +1

    ha i removed the reed valve stopper and! made no difference lol but ive just ordered a piston with windows in it for more fuel 2 bypass into the crank case, i will put the hexi spacers under both rings to increase compression hopefully maiking my 4th gear to 5th gear response better. by the way how fast does your bike go with all these modifications i can get 50 out of mine on the flatcheers Oliver

  • @lukeere
    @lukeere 15 лет назад +1

    can you tell us how your new piston goes when u put it in please because i read the same thing about having a hole in the piston but i wasnt sure if it would work so just put a message on here when its finished cheers

  • @kezmaticks160885
    @kezmaticks160885  15 лет назад +2

    it makes it a shorter distance for the air and fuel to travel but if your bike head gets really hot the heat can transfer from the head to the carb because there wont be a plastick spacer there but i have got a really good set up on my bike and it dousent get very hot at all so it all depends on your engine and what its heat range is hope that helps safe =)

  • @kezmaticks160885
    @kezmaticks160885  15 лет назад +3

    get a (big one exhaust) stage three thay sound amazing and add lots more power thats what ive got on mine in the vid defonately the number one exhaust to have for the tsx =)

  • @lukeere
    @lukeere 15 лет назад +1

    im not sure what size sprockets it got but it still wont go past 800 rpm which is saying it doesnt have enough power for the gear ratio but i think it might be a problem with the new carb on it so ill put the original on and see how it goes the exhaust was a good point though its given me loads more acceleration.

  • @kezmaticks160885
    @kezmaticks160885  15 лет назад +2

    also have you rejetted your carb and set it up properly on the mixture screw ????
    also have you upgraded the reed valves lots of little things make a big diffrence !!!!

    my buddy, adrian, had a zr50sk with a 60cc cylinder,21mm dellorto and gianelli, we got it up to 95 km/h without changing the sprockets, i have a ts50er i might put up some vids of; )

    my mate has just bought a ts50x and is giving it to me to tune up egsactly the same as mine but the only diffrence is
    ITS ROAD LEGAL YYYYAAAAYYYY
    so you will all be able to see how fast it goes on road and the performance of it on the road so stay toned pease out

  • @lukeere
    @lukeere 15 лет назад +1

    yeah if my old ts did that then i would of happily kept it but my spec was 70cc mallossi 21mm mikuini carb big one frontpipe and this only but it to 50-55 and it wouldn't redline in this gear ratio so i couldnt of uppered the gearing to 60 the thing i never understood was the bigger carb gave it loads more acceleration but didnt add anything onto the top speed well thats why i ive now got an aprillia rs 50 it wont last as long but was to slow sounds like your would of been about right though.

  • @disturbedlol
    @disturbedlol 12 лет назад +1

    Awsome tut :D but you should write that you can get more speed by putting on 14 or 15T in front to get more speed ;)
    Got everything on this tut :D and a new carburetor is just waste of money... buy a 85 nozzle and it will run as a dream :)

  • @parrotbasher
    @parrotbasher 14 лет назад +1

    I agree - you won't get 73mph with just bolt on goodies. You need to take the bike to somebody who knows how to make a TS work (and that's not your college mate doing a NVQ in car mechanics!). Having said that, the basic design is very sound and strong so those sort of speeds should be fairly easily obtained by the right tuner.

  • @lukeere
    @lukeere 15 лет назад +1

    yer ive got a big one front pipe on now sounds well good really loud tho but sounds good the only problem ive had is it melted through the 2 stroke tank lol but ive replaced it with an old yamaha ty 1 its given it loads more power but still wont go over 50 lol but yer its made it a lot better thankss

  • @omaliveatlast4688

  • @kezmaticks160885
    @kezmaticks160885  15 лет назад +1

    if you put a bigger carb on it it lets more air and fuel in but i have filed out the valves and cylinder ports so if i stick a bigger carb on it it would be too much air and fuel mixture going in resulting in the engine choking and not firing properly but trust me you dont need a bigger carb its only a 70cc you want better air flow in to the cylinder plus what costs more bying a nother carb or using a file ;) and also i wanted to keep the whole engine as close to suzuki parts as possible =)

  • @lukeere
    @lukeere 15 лет назад

    now then i need some more help please lol ive just bought some racing carbon fibre reed valves and on the box it says replace every 1000 miles of 8 hours in mx riding did it say this on yours and im just wondering wether its worth taking the barrel off if it will only last 1000 miles just tell us what you think about em cheers

  • @kezmaticks160885
    @kezmaticks160885  15 лет назад +1

    i didnt change the carbrettor because i wanted to keep it as close to original parts as possible plus because i made all the ports bigger on the head if i put the bigger carb on it it would choke and flud the engine trust me ive tried but the original carb is big enough anyway remember its only a 70cc not a 700cc just change the jets in the old carb to bigger ones add a k&n air filter, 70cc bore kit and a big one exhaust and your sorted massive power gaines easily done!!!

      With all due respect ,isn't the TS50 a rotary valve engine ? Or are you by passing this and tuning it into a regular piston port engine with reed valves using an aftermarket cylinder. ? BTW your asking for trouble if you run 2stroke pre-mix & don't keep that CCI bottle full - it lubed an important main bearing that premix doesn't reach.I have the rare MX90 version it's like a TS90 with TM125 graphics, although it runs premix the owners manual stipulates under no circumstances run the little oil bottle under the seat ! & Mines a OEM racer. I note you aren't freely making it avail where to buy parts.Take it from a hardened racer From Roger Decoder days you aren't coughing up. The ring expanders are there for show on a 2 stroke & 1 source is sealed power in USA if you need them & don't argue, I build race engines for a living.Did you put a cork in the rotary valve hole ? -Youd be better off using the rotary valve modified into ram tuning the longer timing cut into your rotary valve.& Mounting your factory carb at the end of a long bent metal tube - like they used to work the bigger rotary valve brigstone Jap engines - no use reinventing the wheel.and not raining on your parade but did you know there is over 100psi pushing the rings out against the bore walls on any compression stroke.Thats 4 stroke technology or you don't know what you are doing or all the manufacturers would be running them from stock.Cheers Trev New Zealand

    Hy i have a ts50x and have a big one front exhaust and 70cc bore kit the same as yours.. also a k and n style filter plus bigger main jet problem is i only get 45 out of it on the flat....anoying as ive spent over £200 on it....be glad if you can help...and does the filing of the valve port work? cheers Oliver

  • @kezmaticks160885
    @kezmaticks160885  15 лет назад +1

    you can only buy a 70cc head but you can buy a 75cc or an 80cc piston but you halfto bore the barrel out yourself if you can bore it for cheap then go 80cc but if you cant just buy the 70cc head kit thay only cost 70quid.
    you can also get a piston with port holes cut in it (power valve) like motocrossers so it might be worth getting that =)

  • @lukeere
    @lukeere 14 лет назад +1

    @mattdeakinable by bogs down does it seem like its running weak ? like a starvation of fuel ? im not to sure but it may need upjetting(bigger main jet in the carb) just add 10% on to the jet size thats in it and see if it makes a difference , if it seems to be getting better then keep slowing increasing the jet size until you get it right.

    you definitely need a performance exhaust thats where the problem lies youve got 70cc worth of exhaust gases flowing through a 50cc hole its like you trying to breath through a straw put it this way my friend has a 50cc ts50 and has a perfotrmance bigone exhaust and it does the same speed as your bike and thats a 50cc when you have a performance exhause youl be in a whole diffrent league go for the best and get a bigone its the best on the market for a ts50-70 when you get one youl be proud =)

  • @kezmaticks160885
    @kezmaticks160885  15 лет назад +1

    yes bud you will need to try three or four diffrent sizes to get the best one for your bike start off small and work your way up and see witch one runs best
    try these sizes
    8.0
    8.5
    9.0
    9.5
    one of these will make it run sweet and then to tweak it finely do the mixture screw
    on the carb remember every engine is diffrent no two engines are identical hope that helps safe

    hi mate i cant test how fast my bike goes on the road because its a field bike but it goes like shit off a shovel and there will be a vid soon of it in the field and good job with the two hexi spacers it makes a diffrence but remember a good 2stroke mix and when you take your head off have a look at your intake port and compaire it with my filed out one on the vid youl agree theres a massive diffrence have a look and tell me what you think safe

    great vid cheers for all that info but ive got the same problem as that other lad ive got a 70cc kit and a bigger main jet and geared the bike up but it wont go over 45 and doesnt seem to want to get revs over 7000rpm in top gear its also got a dep end pipe but a standard front pipe ive seen vids with ts(70)s doing 65mph on here so if you culd give me any info wuld be loads of helpp gave this 5 stars btw:D

  • @lukeere

    @mattdeakinable have u geared it up? get a bigger front sprocket wemoto are good for ts parts then it will have a higher top speed but less acceleration. ps if your sitting at 10000 revs then that poor ts wont last 5 mins !

    no a front pipe makes the gases expand better and easier your dep pipe makes the bike sound a lot louder but the front pipes makes your bike have a motocrosse tinny sound see my video again where the bike starts up and you get that crosser sound and thats all good =) trust me youl notice the difrence in power you might need to tune the bike on the mixture screw on the carb as well because you are tuning the engine with parts so mixture needs to changed and get a performance spark plug =)

    because i wanted to keep all the parts as close to the origional bits as possible not to fuck about with diffrent carbs ect plus after grinding and reporting the new head if i put a bigger carb on it it would just choke the engine hence the original carb and is plenty big enough any way its only a 70cc!!!! plus if you want the same exhaust as mine then just type in to google suzuki ts50 big one exhaust its the best one for the ts youl understand if you get one sirious power gains!!!!!! =)

    lol it said that on my ones too mx riding stands for motocross offroad where you are on full throttle all day if you fit these in your ts youl only be riding it on the road mostly so no massive stresses on the engine you will not have a problem for years by the time thay wear out youl need to replace the piston and rings anyway plus thay are specially desighned so if thay snap in the engine thay wonld not dammage the piston and barrel at all thay will just decintegrate unlike the metal ones =)

    yeah it had a lot more power at low revs but lost it at higher revs and yeah the ports hadn't be touched from standard but couldn't malossi research into porting and get the standards done as the whole point of a big bore kit is to make the bike faster well i dont understand it anyway lol

    @TSXskilzz95 well if you watched the vid i wanted to keep the engine as original as possable ie keep the old carb and do minimal mods othewise i could spend hundreds on it making it more powerful theres no need for this because i have a kx250 and a yz125 so if i want to go like a rocket i just jump on them =S

    @kezmaticks160885 yeah had a ts 185 they fucking fly bog standard with loads of piston slack and bottom end was on its way out yet it would still lift front wheel in 3rd gear easily. in a ts50 frame that would be rapid!

    there not closest to original parts for the ts and i liked the original parts to see how much power i could get out of them if you change too many parts its not a ts engine any more get what ime saying

    the original exhaust pipe is not the same shape as the big one performance exhaust the big one has better expansion for gasses and flows easier trust hold the two up together and thay are not the same at all plus diffrent back presures and a totally diffrent sound as well and if you tried a standard exhaust (derestricted) it dosent give as much power as a big one try it and you will see =)
    and year send me a tuning book never heard of it but allways well interested in stuff like that safe

    What end exhaust?

  • @kezmaticks160885
    @kezmaticks160885  15 лет назад

    alrite mate yes i think i know where your problem lies you say you have a standard front pipe well look at it like this the standard pipe is for a 50cc bike so you up your bike to a 70cc but the pipe is only built for a 50cc and ONLY CAPABLE of getting out 50cc worth of exhaust trust me a diffrent exhauset makes a massive diffrence it lest the exhaust gasses flow better resilting in more power quicker reving and it sounds a shit load better as well plus i think your bike could do with a tune =)
