Kawazu Zakura! February Sakura Cherry Blossom Blooming in Japan

It's Sakura time! After flying back to Japan from America we started our sakura journey! (Sakura = Cherry Blossom) In February kawazuzakura starts blooming. The best place to see kawazuzakura is in the place this sakura originated from, Kawazu Shizuoka. This special type of sakura blooms early. We felt we stepped out of winter into spring when we visited the town of Kawazu. These sakura are a darker pink and have a much longer blooming time, up to a month! If you come to Japan before sakura season starts but want to experience it, we recommend coming here! The station is right at the entrance of this kawazuzakura lined river.
