  • Today we take a deep dive into the origins of the Disneyland Resort. We'll talk about how Walt built his dream and how Disneyland changed the course of the entertainment industry forever.
I hope you guys enjoy these longer videos. I'll continue to upload them, just know they take longer to make than the basic 10 minute long ones. Thanks for all your continued support!

i asked my grandpa before he died how the world was before disneyland/disney, and he said it was nothing but sarrow and unhappiness. my grandpa said that if he were ever able to, he’d go back and thank walt for making america happy again, the whole time i talked to him he had a smile on his face, walt disney had such a big indent on everyone, no matter if you lived during these times or if youre here after. whether you want to admit it or not, disney has a giant impact on your life.

Fun fact. My grandfather was one of probably many people who looked at buying that rural patch of farmland before Disney came in. It was orange groves, if I remember the stories I was told correctly.

I was born in that area of California, and each time the family went to Disneyland, it was a true treat. The ambience, the rides, the shows, it transported me to another place and time. It had been years since I was there, then about 10 years ago I went back. Aside from the parking lot being replaced by another amusement park, the entrance lured me in. Once inside, I was taken back to the days when I was a child, and when Walt had sparked imagination in me. Now as an artist, I owe my life to the ideas that Walt Disney had. I sure wouldn't mind going back and act a kid again within that park.

My friends may ridicule me and tease me for being “obsessed” with Disneyland, and I may have stayed in band to go on our trip to Disneyland ( which I am really excited for and leaves in 5 days ) and I am forever homesick for my true home, which my heart belongs to, not a stupid man or woman or family, to a magical world of pure awe, which I love beyond reason, and it makes me feel a complex way where I simply believe

I waited 50 years to go to Disney as I live in Australia and never had the opportunity until 2015. The minute I walked under the tunnel I was transported to a magical world, where cartoon characters come to life, where I could be just as excited as my grandkids and not feel that I was not being scrutinized because I should be acting as an adult. Its the magic inside us that it awakens. Cant wait to go back in March 2018.

If you enjoyed Disneyland you should consider saving for a Disney Cruise some time. I've been on a few different cruises but none have been as good the one time that I went on a Disney cruise. Not only is the food superb but the staff is too, they were some of most genuinely friendly people that I've ever met and I did not begrudge a single dime of tip that I paid them at the end of the cruise. Part of what makes them so nice is that you really get the chance to know them and them you because your wait staff is with you for the entire length of your stay, you may change dining rooms every meal but they're with you at every meal regardless of what table or dining you're at.

I gotta say Disneyland to me is more than just a park. It’s a home, it’s a state of belonging. It’s the cultivation of one man’s dreams that changed the world. It’s my childhood. Whether it’s the rides, the foods, the shows, or the parades, everything just feels.. right. The one thing, however, that will always stick with me, is the music. Whether it’s the ragtime beats of Mainstreet reminding me of shopping with my mother, or the more futuristic tones of Tomorrowland, bringing me back to the awe and wonder of my childhood days, it will always stay close to my heart. Disneyland helped shaped me as a person, so much for the better, and I feel truly lucky to live so close.

I’m 58 years old and I was born, raised, and have lived my entire life in Orange County. My family lived in La Habra since 1963 just about a half mile west of Imperial Hwy. and Harbor Blvd., and roughly 7.5 miles (12.1 km), from the Disneyland entrance. One of my very first memories is when I was 4 years old and being at Disneyland. My oldest sister (19 years old at the time), was a Tour Guide at Disneyland and she was of course showing us around. My Mom and my sister who was a Tour Guide, have always told me we met Walt Disney that day but unfortunately I do not remember it. I do remember being near the Fire Station, which is where my Mom and sister have told me we met Walt Disney, but again, I do not recollect meeting him. I do remember however on that same visit being by the Submarines and having gotten separated from my Mom and realizing I was lost. I also remember crying out loud and a woman coming over to me and taking my hand. My Mother told me I was reunited with her very quickly.
The last thing I’ll share from that visit that stands out is that I remember being outside of an area and my sister telling us about the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ ride that was being built there. That was my earliest Disneyland memories from my childhood so I just thought I’d share them here.

I grew up with WDW in Florida. It’s my “Home Park”. However I had always wanted to see the original. Last August I finally went for a week.
All I can say is that Disneyland is where you go when you want a purer dose of Disney. Old school no bullshit (corporate free) Disney.
While Florida is vast and has so many things on Anaheim, Disneyland is the only place where I honestly can tangibly feel Walt’s spirit. It has an honesty and a charm and a story that just can’t be re-created.
If they had only built Epcot (the park) in Anaheim...I’d forget there was anything in Florida...
    Absolutely in love with Disneyland.

Disneyland to me means going back to happiest times with friends and family. Not saying that there was only happy times back then but there's something about that park from the moment you get there and see the ticket booths to when you go through those turnstiles that it transports you to a time a time when you had no worries or cares. The feeling you felt going in as a kid is always there no matter what time of the year it is. I first went to the park when I was 3 and I remember how I felt and me a three year old looking around seeing all these things. I remember seeing people ridding the Matterhorn going on the submarine Voyage, walking around tomorrow land. Then going back when I was 8 and being like "omg this was all real, I didn't just imagine all of this when I was younger" and having that same feeling I remember as a child. Waiting in line for 3 hours for splash mountain when it first opened with my cousins, aunts and uncles dancing with the splash mountain characters to a dixieland band while we waited. Seeing all the characters walking around and feeling the excitement and joy just to be near them is priceless. Now as an adult (38) every time I walk in to the park I stand there on main street for a bit, look around, take a deep breath and remember all those great times we had growing up with the park and the new memories we're going to make now. I have nieces now and when we go to the park I love seeing the faces they make and think wow... I. Wonder if that's how I looked when I was their age 🤗😁

Disney Parks as a whole are a massive Special Interest and Comfort for me. When I feel horrible and miserable, I think of being there and free to be myself, no judgement. It's a labor of love, child-like wonder, and a beautiful collaboration between creativity and skill, and imagination and wonder. Disneyland is home, to me.

Disneyland for me is the history and the imagination that made it possible. It's the light in the window above the firehouse and knowing the spirit of Walt is always inspiring anyone who allows themselves to be, myself included.

If I were to nail down one statement about what Disneyland is for me, I would have to say it is a place where I can let go of the stress of everyday life. Simply walking through the gates is a recharge, one I hope to be able to share with my children one day soon...
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Disneyland is life! Disneyland is my childhood! From the beginning to now, I've seen Disneyland transform in so many ways. As an AP pass holder, I go almost every weekend with my daughter. Disneyland is our happy place. The food is great, the attractions are awesome and the imagination never ends. I love that Disneyland is a place we love to call a second home. When I need a break from adulthood and work, I love taking my daughter. We always enjoy ourselves and discover new things every time we go. We love Disneyland. What would we do without it!! Even if they install new rides and change things here and there, it will always be a place where our imaginations can run wild.

disneyland is more than the physical, it always feels like there’s this amazing spirit there full of history and magic and experiences that mean so much to many people. it’s a feeling of love and togetherness and hope and safety, i think that’s what makes it feel like home. of course the attractions and food and entertainment are a part of it, but that feeling you get can happen from just witnessing the park and observing. listening, smelling, watching everything unfold and knowing it’s an incredible piece of history. that’s what i love about it

I was never a Disney kid. I can't say it had a big effect on my childhood but i wish it did. 3 year ago i started learning everything I could about Walts/Disneyland/Disneyworld. I learned how truly...truly magical it all is. Im 20 and i vow that my kids are gonna be Disney kids. I'll give them the childhood i always wanted.

To me, Disneyland is kind of like a feeling. A feeling I only get around Christmas time. Joy, happiness and memories of having fun as a kid with my family. Now I share those feelings with my own family. The attractions and food are top notch too. But that feeling you get there, brings it all together.

Disneyland is an escape from reality into a land where the outside world is literally blocked off, beauty and creativity are all around, music fills the air, thrills and adventures are embraced, and where all trials and fears can be overcome to arrive at happy endings. Upon leaving the park, one is inspired to fill one's own world with beauty, creativity, music, to embrace new thrills and adventures, and given hope that their trials and fears can be overcome to arrive at a happy ending.

It's my childhood. I grew up going to Disneyland in the 1970's and 1980's. Still remember the old Mine Train where Big Thunder now stands. I still remember the snoring bear between the Haunted Mansion and Bear Country. I remember when you had to take an elevator to get to the rockets above the People Mover. I remember two Autopias - one in Fantasyland and one in Tomorrowland. I remember the Motor Boats and America Sings. I remember being at Angel games when you could watch the Disneyland Fireworks from the View Level of the Stadium.

Walt couldn't have said it better, Disneyland is my Land. I remember all the times my parents took me to the park and even the 6 hour drive from Stockton to Anaheim was an adventure. Whenever I knew I was going to Disneyland I could not fall asleep the night before to save my life. To me Disneyland is something that has become apart of my life I don't think I could or would want to be without it. This video made me so happy and every time I hear the name Walt Disney, the only thing that comes to mind is MAGIC.

I have loved watching disney films and shows all of my life since about five, but sadly will probably never visit any of its theme parks. I don't believe any other Park on Earth could do what Disneyland did or all of its other world parks do, bring our Imaginations to life. I grew up in an Era where incredible talented Cartoon artists made all Animation and no one on Earth could match Disney's Team for this. sadly Digital imagery has replaced Drawing Animation but it can NEVER match those million pieces of paper a Disney Feature Film did. my all-time Favourite one still is "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"

it was the atmosphere. I grew up in anaheim. Went there more times i can count but so much more sentimental now than ever. It was like a dreamland. Each part of the park caught a different emotion. Whether exciting , wonder or scary. THe smells, certain rides or attractions had a smell. From the haunted house to the pirates its like you would associate it immediately with that environment. My dad is not dong well, and its been an emotion ride the past couple months and really hard the last month. You tend to play back the good times, advice, memories and all the things he did as an amazing dad. I remember the beaches , fishing , my failures and he was there for me but i also remember fondly disneyland with him. ALways there , strong , always got me hot dogs , cotton candy, he made the experience so good. I came across your videos at a perfect time been watching t hem and smiling because its been through my childhood to current day . My niece now (who has grown so quick) has passes with my sister and they just went . You really took me back in time and i thank you so much for the history of it all.

Disneyland for me is the story, the triumphs and fails. He did this not only for the studio but for everyone and generations to come. At Disneyland you can make friends and travel to “far away” destination or places you may never have seen. Every single time you go there you create a new story that’s why Disneyland for me it’s all about the stories and the adventures to come.

"Fine, I'll just make another company! With blackjack! And hookers!" - Walt Disney, probably
Overdone Futurama jokes aside, it warms my heart reading so many comments from fellow Disney lovers that consider Disneyland their home! I have always considered Disneyland my second home since I was a child, but often when I would tell this to others, they would laugh and tease me. "What a weirdo! What kind of person is *that* attached to an overpriced theme park???" I always thought I was alone. But now, thanks to RUclips hosting channels dedicated to my favorite place on Earth, it has allowed me to discover other people just like me, that love Disneyland as much as I do, and to whom Disneyland holds just as special of a meaning to them, as it does to me!

To me Disneyland feels like a mixture of nostalgia, longing, and having an optimistic future.
I long to be there for the nostalgia I have for the park but at the same time when I do go there, I feel hopeful. Like; maybe this world isn't so bad after all. We CAN change the world together.
Also Haunted Mansion is there and that's the best ride so
