I think Area 1 should be kept as a natural reserve/sanctuary. It looks so good as it is, and it would make a nice contrast with the more built-up areas

This could have cool "preserved" colonial assets-- either maybe french or dutch (or even some you have downloaded for blightea?) and some churches, boutiques, a small harbour for cruises and a wall that separates the older looking assets from new developments? I'm thinking, for example, of the old city and citadel in Quebec city.

At the beginning of the series, you've built a cable car connection over the mountain. It would be really interesting, how often it's used by those lovely people.
I think you should expand the area 2 or 3, and building a touristic beach place, with attractions at the beach, kiosks, beautiful resorts or smaller hotels, a downtown full of shops, restaurants and night clubs facing the sea.
Area 3 looks a little like Japan so it could be like Hi-tech and research facilities islands. There is a japan green tea called Shizuoka so it can be called Teazuoka :)

I know that you aren't a big fan of the helicopters but this would be a limited case and it save civs from having to go around the long way. If you limited the number of helicopters would the civs choose the next best service or just give up their trip? As for expansion I would recommend doing Area 2 before Area 3. If you do Area 3 first then you will spend time placing infrastructure on Area 2 only to have to replace it when it comes time to build on Area 2. Then you will have to worry about impacting Area 3 when you delete something on Area 2. Something that I'd like to see issuing back to rebuild sections of the city now that it has grown. Then later on come back to change the medium density to high density and put a ring of medium density around the high density. Play the game as if the city were alive and growing. I understand that while filling in the areas it might be too difficult to do both. It just feels like everyone is focussed on building a static city, which doesn't exit. This comment isn't aimed directly at you and it's not meant to be a criticism. I enjoy your videos very much and they are greatly entertaining. I haven't found anyone whom does CS like it was a living city and it would be nice to watch.
Area 3 ( or "Area Fif-Tea 1" as i like to call it ) needs to be a super secret navel/military base where the "secrets of the tea" are heavily protected/guarded!
Area 1 would be a great wildlife nature reserve park area 2 since airport is near could have a more modern industrial area and area 3 I'm sure your imagination will take you far to something beautiful
I reckon a blimp that goes around the map would be cool as the people of New Tealand can get an aerial view of the island. As for expansion, I think Area 3 would be perfect for some sort of small holiday villas or small hotels. It's a bit secluded for privacy, but not too far from civilisation. Love the vids, biffa! Hopefully you hit 600k very soon
Area two seems like it would be cool for a historical village emanating from around the old fort and maybe a secondary, more modern base on the island without a fort
Area 1 can be a National Park, Area 2 I feel like should be some sort of Military base, it just feels like it should be like that. Maybe adding dilapidated buildings there to show some history of "Old Tealand". Area 3 can be Nuclear Power Island.
Agree on Area 1. Should be a nature reserve. We only have PG Tips and the other volcano-like mountain and that's it. New Tealand is lacking in natural green spaces.
Really enjoyed the bus tour at 8:31 it would be cool to do like an ASMR/relaxing hour long vid of just vehicles driving around your city! Nice background music. Get to see the whole city.
Every series has its own titled playlist in release order. Numbering videos doesn't work well on RUclips 😉 Also, each video also has a #newtealand or whatever the series is below the video, as well as the playlists as described above. As much as I want to make things as easy as possible, doing the things you mentioned would adversely affect my videos performance :-)
As a resident of New Zealand, something I find interesting about some of the small islands around me, is they have no real road network on the island. There are several ferry stops around the island for people to get there, with jetties on the coastline and then a short road going up to a cluster of houses. There are plenty of walking paths, but people visit their neighbours by boat.
Build a University Campus on Area 3, Area 2 could be an old naval base -> castles, forts, military museum kinda place, Area 1 is just perfect, make it a nature reservation area/national park
A minor suggestion for the airport area. The area view (at least to me) feels a bit unfinished. I feel like there either needs to be a few trees or rocks around the outside area or have the runways sticking out into the water a la LAX, with quay walls or something. Might just me me though. As for the area, I think area 1 is perfect for a nature park, area 2 for VERY low density residential, and area 3 is good for farms.
Great job on New Tealand, Biffa. That landscape is the most challenging landscape to build a city on. Not too much land, a couple of mountains, and it's mostly ocean! But you still succeeded!
2 suggestions: 1) Place a side gate between the Teasney Land metro and the amusement park, so they don’t have free access! 2) People can enter the park for free by your new Taxi Depot and parking lot, and the road close to the harbour to the pathway. :-)
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines also do you still remember your disaster city Tahitea Islands? Because it would be cool if you bring back some of your past cities
Great video as always! That massive bus line from the space elevator to the airport should be replaced with ferries. Always overlooked but much more appropriate for that journey Biffa.
At the end, when you ask us where to expand, in that image, right above (towards the top of the screen) the right end of the bottom airport (which is on the bottom of the screen), you have an island which looks like a flipped C letter (according to the map you show us), which I think could be a low-density island with one high-density housing block and one or two office blocks (so people don't have t leave the area for work), as well as using a few tiny services (which you would need to get from the workshop, if you don't already have them, like a 1x1 or 1x2 police booth, and similarly for the other services), which are more than enough for such a small island. It could even have it's own water and sewage system, and use water recycling pontoons to clean the sewage they eject into the ocean/sea. I think the beach on the inside of the C could serve as a very good tourist attraction / park, if you have the required assets, which would make a ferry feasible. Having a tiny school, highschool, and university, would allow all the residents to not need to leave the island their whole lives, if they choose to.
Hey Biffa, I dont know if youre aware of this or not, the reason your props dont pop into detail until you get quite close is a setting under ultimate level of detail mod, i believe its like prop fade in distance or something like that, you just need to adjust that setting larger, city planner plays did it in one of his videos and this is how i found out about it! awesome video as always and i hope you read this!
i would love to see some more really really high rise building, mb some semester resort perhaps, pools and all that? i liked the idea of the natre reserve, but then again the whole mountain chain is already like a nature reserv kinda-ish. i did like the name Old Tealand for number 3 that somone suggessted! more high rise, down town manhattan, i know you build one, but didnt see much of it, want to see more biffa i cant get enough ahah! love the vids!

Biffa! Great bus line going all over the place xD But you could have used the metro station under the airport to directly connect to that entertainment area!
Turning area 2 into a preserve or National park of some kind to show off the fort would be really cool and it would preserve some green space in the city!
That Airport Bus line reminds me so much of when I was in Okinawa,Japan and used the airport shuttle there. It was basically driving through the whole island and the trip took us about 4 hours.
How were you even able to make a 100km long bus line and get it to physically work? I know there was one time where City Planner Plays had issues with a 46km bus route when he was building Verde Beach.
Maybe Area 1 as a Golf Resort? Could have Area 2 as Historical/Naval/Military Base, and Area 3 as Old Tealand. As you have built up the mountainside, maybe you could connect the Cable Car to the new TeasneyLand too? I would probably suggest adding some underground parking there too, might increase revenue!
I definitely agree with all the folks that said area 1 looks perfectly like a nature reserve. I know people are saying that it makes more sense to be a tourist area or something else, with the proximity to the airport, but I used to volunteer at a nature reserve, and I've visited a great many of them, and one of the surprising things about those places is that they spring up in places you'd never expect, because other people don't want to live close to big noisy places like airports. That means the land is both empty and cheap. It sometimes gets snatched up by developers looking to make cheap housing that people in a low budget can move into and put up with with the noise. It sometimes gets grabbed by industry looking for good connections on cheap land. But it also often gets grabbed by charities or state bodies looking for good land for a nature reserve, especially if there's a reason why nature like to live in that area. You could easily justify the island being preserved if there was a rare species of flower or something that only grew on that one island, and the preserve was originally set up to protect and cultivate it, the land grabbed just as the planning permission for the airport was filed, as a way to stop any industry moving in there. Perhaps after that, the flower was planted across New Tealand, and the preserve just grew into a combination of a botanical research centre and a full nature reserve where people come to see the amazing wildlife that would come to area like that, especially birds (even if the airport authorities would be keeping a wary eye on the place in case of birdstrike in the airport). Then you might even have the flower become the emblem of New Tealand...
Great video as always, Biffa, thank you! I would like to vote for Area 1. A small area could be made into a nice green cities theme with local produce for commercial, and eco housing for both high and low density, with lots of trees in-between. If you have not placed the Central Park asset, that would look really nice in there.
I'd like Area 2 & 3! Would be cool to see one of those modern marvel really large bridges! Area 1 I could see for sure as a military compound. If not, the "woods".
I'd really like to see some structures being built encroaching on the mountains - it would create some really fascinating topographical interest to the city, now that the 'lowlands' are getting closer to being all built up.
I think heading towards area 3 might be the best decision. Although you mentioned you don't want to add a bridge, perhaps with the 3rd small island above that area you could make a connection to the highway or something, a bit further from the city grounds. It could be a nice split connection towards the airport without the need of that 100 km bus ride too (though I know your traffic keeps up with it, it still sounds quite insane for a local bus :D) I don't have a specific idea for what to build though, since most tourisr attractions have been done by now, and I don't know how much you'd want to bring in a build theme there
With that new cruise station, your paths are too close to the road for the amusement park, they are simply walking aroudn the gate and not being counted.
Hi Biffa, excellent episode as always, keep up the good work. As you scrolled around I think I caught a glimpse of a metro at the Airport pointing almost directly at Teansly World. In my mind it would make perfect sense to have a direct line connecting Airport - Space Elevator - Tearantula Hub.

I love new tealand as well! My suggestion is to make use of the area number 2 to build around the existing fort (the star shaped building) a military base where tiwis can do their classes and learn to defend their land from sea borne enemies.
I think a coastal resort in Area 2 would be good. It’s far enough away from the airport for a holiday resort but not too far to get to. Love the new Space Odytea area and seeing it so full of people.

Since you have so much parking inside the toll area maybe you should turn that big parking lot around for the harbor
Would you mind adding series name, ie Newtealand and episode number? Would make it easier to go back and watch the start of the series.
Every series has its own titled playlist in release order. Numbering videos doesn't work well on RUclips 😉
Also, each video also has a #newtealand or whatever the series is below the video, as well as the playlists as described above. As much as I want to make things as easy as possible, doing the things you mentioned would adversely affect my videos performance :-)
Thanks for the explanation Biffa
As a resident of New Zealand, something I find interesting about some of the small islands around me, is they have no real road network on the island. There are several ferry stops around the island for people to get there, with jetties on the coastline and then a short road going up to a cluster of houses. There are plenty of walking paths, but people visit their neighbours by boat.
Many people from the harbor are going into the park area without paying. Have a look and make them pay!!
Build a University Campus on Area 3, Area 2 could be an old naval base -> castles, forts, military museum kinda place, Area 1 is just perfect, make it a nature reservation area/national park
I really like the way you are thinking! Area 2 would be cool to build out as a base. It is close to the airport and the shuttle launch site.
28:00 you have BOB mod exactly for this!!!!
You can remove those surfaces with it
I would suggest to make a Parking Garage. It would fit nicely in a commercial area.
Hey biffa, I love your British build series and was wondering whether you could upload those episodes more often?
2 suggestions:
1) Place a side gate between the Teasney Land metro and the amusement park, so they don’t have free access!
2) People can enter the park for free by your new Taxi Depot and parking lot, and the road close to the harbour to the pathway. :-)
The gate to the foot path in front of the harbour where the cruse ships come in, people are going around the gate instead of going through it
Needs a bit of fencing to direct them I’d say
My vote is for area1, with some nature reserve and eco friendly area.
Can you bring back the old musics from the series new tealand? Because i like those musics
I switched it up as we are now in the Airport DLC and using the music from the new music packs :-)
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines ok biffa, like your new tealand & bliteaonthewold vids :-)
*First!!!! lamest comment ever*
I love this series, may I suggest to add in a another connection from the west side of the airport so people don’t have to travel so far. Hopefully I don’t sound harsh!
Area 1 - Nature/Wildlife Park (animals do get used to the noise of airports
Area 2 - Historic Military Area, add to the fortifications, low level hotels for vistors, tour buses
Area 3 - Watersports/Sailing
I don't know what resources the game offers, I'm a watcher not a player but I have been really enjoying watching this city develop
Area 1!!! That could be a great upscale resort with a golf course.
The airport looks so impressive.
Biffa! Great bus line going all over the place xD
But you could have used the metro station under the airport to directly connect to that entertainment area!
Area 2 looks like it could make a really cool holiday resort.
I liked that thought creating a mega bridge that directly connects to the islands. Maybe a boat that travels from the mainland to the airport.
Area 3, you could create a holiday village, campsite, hotel complex, boardwalk with restaurants, market squares, the works!
"look at that slide !" 25:07 did anyone else notice the rouge Green car flying by while the Cruiseship slides in XD
If not, the "woods".
your long bus route has made me think it would be nice to get the mega bus in your british city
Theme park should've been called Teaniversal going against Teasney just make sense
I'd really like to see some structures being built encroaching on the mountains - it would create some really fascinating topographical interest to the city, now that the 'lowlands' are getting closer to being all built up.
Area 1 needs a golf course.
I think heading towards area 3 might be the best decision. Although you mentioned you don't want to add a bridge, perhaps with the 3rd small island above that area you could make a connection to the highway or something, a bit further from the city grounds. It could be a nice split connection towards the airport without the need of that 100 km bus ride too (though I know your traffic keeps up with it, it still sounds quite insane for a local bus :D)
I don't have a specific idea for what to build though, since most tourisr attractions have been done by now, and I don't know how much you'd want to bring in a build theme there
25:06
Everyone else admiring the ship parking to harbour
Me: Wait, hey, that green car is totally driving on the air, to the sea!!
With that new cruise station, your paths are too close to the road for the amusement park, they are simply walking aroudn the gate and not being counted.
What about a ferry from the airport to Teasneyland. I know you wanted to use your bus transfer, but it sure is a long drive.
I'd like to see area 2 turned into a historical preservation with some Biffa back story
New Tealand is like a paradise, i wish it exists in the real world
Hi Biffa, excellent episode as always, keep up the good work. As you scrolled around I think I caught a glimpse of a metro at the Airport pointing almost directly at Teansly World. In my mind it would make perfect sense to have a direct line connecting Airport - Space Elevator - Tearantula Hub.
I'd like to see Area 2 with some old european style, as Dragonlord suggested. Great episode, Biffa! This city has been going on for quite a while. I'm happy that it's still going, can't wait to see what comes next.
I love new tealand as well! My suggestion is to make use of the area number 2 to build around the existing fort (the star shaped building) a military base where tiwis can do their classes and learn to defend their land from sea borne enemies.
I'd love to see area 2 developed. The fort structure could be an interesting tourist hotspot or really cool park.
On area 3 I would love to see a huge vacation/ tourism island. Lot of resorts and wide beaches
Giving me Heathrow vibes with everyone crammed in. Loving it, love seeing all the people!
I think a coastal resort in Area 2 would be good. It’s far enough away from the airport for a holiday resort but not too far to get to. Love the new Space Odytea area and seeing it so full of people.
This is my favorite city, too! I absolutely love this build!
‘Hey babe? Why you still awake at 12:30?’
‘I’m watching a man design bus routes in his make believe city on RUclips’
Not sure this is how I imagined my future when I was 8. But have to say i kinda like it
I think having area 1 as a residential private complex or something like that with easy acces to the airport to their privates planes would be cool ans also area 2 as a place to study withn a city campus that cover all the island would be also really really cool
My thoughts too... Gated community to keep the riff raff out. Lots of mansions and beach side villas that are completely unaffordable to regular Teawis...
I think area 2 could be cool to expand into. As a name suggestion, it could be something along the lines of Tea Fort instead of tree fort!
You need to put a Fence up at that Harbour, there are tons of sims jumping off the Ships walking right into your Park without paying.
That half moon island in the middle off the map would make a great beach resort
