I must say Boulderdash and the Hewson puzzle shooter Anarchy are among my favourites - I just keep getting back to them. So I reckon they should classify as my favourites. Cybernoid has a great soundtrack but it is so very very tough! It is a very good computer collection. :)

Thanks again for these extensive Evercade reviews you really can’t find anywhere else. I’m glad you actually read the manual and research the games to give it a fair opinion. These computer games required it! I got C64 3 when it launched and still have not touched most of the games. Paladroid is so addicting and hard. It really requires a few tries to get the hang of it. Just plays like nothing out there. I really like this on a handheld. Like you I am enamored with Summer Games. Always thought they where some of the best looking games on the C64. I never had them back in the day. You would probably hate if you did not take time to learn. Your top five games are all you need to enjoy this collection! One of my most played this year.

That's strange that they didn't have anyone fix those issues in Deliverance: Stormlord 2. I happen to know that the first two C64 collections had games modified so they'd work better. I'm curious about how the weapon changes are implemented in Cybernoid 2; on the C64 you need to press keys 1 through 5 or 6 to select weapons. Do you need to use the virtual keyboard for that on the Evercade? That'd be a pain.

With Cybernoid and Cybernoid II they mapped all of those keys to buttons on the controller, so no need to pull up the virtual keyboard. I didn't mention it in the video, but for platformers they also mapped up to a button as well, so you can push a button to jump instead of pushing up, but you can still push up to jump if you really want to.

Good video as always. Did you stumble across the baked in cheat in Cybernoid 2?

I saw the cheat, and I tried it, but I didn't get it to work. I only tried once though and I may have done it wrong.

Thank you for clarifying how to change speed in original Jumpman! I tried playing it but got frustrated by seemingly random speed settings. Also, the level graphics went black once, don’t know if it was a glitch or feature.

Yeah... kind of works with a real keyboard, but a pain to set the speed with the virtual keyboard since it has to be timed correctly. If you were playing levels at random, I think at least one of the levels is completely dark and only gets lit briefly at certain times.

Ah, thank you. I will try it again with another setting, it was probably not the best introduction to Jumpman!

Sunsoft Collection 2 has games that appeal to me more than the first one. Aero the Acro-Bat 2 is better than the first, Zero the Kamikazi Squirrel is better still and Ufouria is kind of similar to Gimmick, only far less unforgiving.
