Wow, I was just thinking about this. My Palestinian mother-in-law made them when she lived with us. I never got to see her make them though so this is great. It was like she would snap her fingers and it was made!! Love it!!!
“I’m just chopping vegetables” 😂 You tell ‘em! Food and pronunciations are regional and variable. Thank you for helping me learn the Arabic names. My brain and tummy are satisfied 🎉
You’re so right about reminders of childhood - was just telling my sister I lived on these fritters in pita from grade school through to university! 😂.
I made these last night for dinner, with a cucumber/tomato salad and some baba ganoush for dipping--we loved them! They remind me a little bit of petite okonomiyaki (Japanese cabbage pancake). I've experimented with variations on that theme over the years, using broccoli, kimchi, or zucchini instead of cabbage, but hadn't even considered cauliflower - what a treat.
OMG love your dinner! Yes they are kind of like okonomiyaki come to think of it, though I have never tried making those pancakes before. So glad you like this version!
It's very nice, my mom has diabetes, cauliflower mix with flour and vegetables is good idea 💡, I can make it for her late supper, because she always want to eat so much at night.
This looks so delicious and a great treat especially with the hummus which I love. Got to try this. Blanche, Ive been wanting to ask what kind of nail polish and color are you wearing. It is so pretty and shimmery.
I did them today and my husband says that to he would like to have them on Friday because it is meat free dish. cauliflower was 1 €, Joghurt 65 cents, herbs and veggies 1€, eggs , flour and starch 1€ also. 4€ serves up to six Leftovers are great with bread and veggies...we love it ♥️♥️♥️
Oh I have been waiting for this! My husband is not a big vegetable person. He doesn’t like the way they feel in his mouth. The texture you know😂😂😂 Anyhow I just found this great broccoli potato and onion patty that you dip into Tzatziki sauce. I think he’d be ok with that. I saw your little things here and I thought I bet you he’ll be down with this? We will see.
The correct pronunciation of shallot is, according to Merriam-Webster, both: shə-ˈlät or ˈsha-lət , so you are right in any case! The french word is different: une échalote.
Your comment on the shallots made me łaugh. You know what? Tell the people who scold you on pronunciation of the shallots and tell them to pronounce cumin as the Arabic comoun in future! lol
I could not eat fancy Middle Eastern dishes right now. I know you have to make a living and Middle Eastern cooking is your forté, but I wish youd switch to do something different, something far more important for this moment in history, until history dramatically improves. Ask God/Allah for that direction. Thank you.
First of all, this is not a fancy dish, it is a peasant's dish that stretches out vegetables when meat is scarce for those on a budget. If you do not like Middle Eastern food, what drew you to this channel since this channel is literally called Feast In the Middle east? What is more important to you?

Awesome!!!
love this recipe very similar to our family recipe frm jordan we also sometimes used cousa squash pulp blessings
Nice to know--yes the cousa pulp works great with this. I will have a fun and unique recipe using the cousa pulp this summer so stay tuned for that.
Blanche, you're a beautiful soul.

Looks neat Blanche ! Never had this. I love Maqloobee when I can get it !
Oh if you love Maqloubee you will love this one (and it takes a lot less time to make lol!)
It looks delicious Blanche! I love these so much. I remember your aunt well. She used to visit us with your grandfather quite often. Great family. ❤️
Awww thanks so much Judy, so glad you knew her too!
Yummm!!!
This looks yummy! Why do I always watch cooking videos when I am fasting? 😆😆😆
Mouthwatering 🥃🥃
Superb, I'm loven it. Always love to watch your precious recipes 💖
They look fantastic. A bit different than my mom's recipe n to be honest looks better. 👍
It's really neat how families have their own interpretations, hope you enjoy this one!
It's very nice, my mom has diabetes, cauliflower mix with flour and vegetables is good idea 💡, I can make it for her late supper, because she always want to eat so much at night.
Hope she likes it! If you want it even more low carb for her you can use almond flour instead of regular flour.
Video of top notch excellence and magnificence, good work 🔥🔥 👍
I LOVE cauliflower and these look fantastic!! 😍👅
Hi hon--hope you enjoy these, I eat these all the time--I use the kodiak protein mix ;) Congrats on surpassing 10,000 subscribers woo hooo!!!
This looks so delicious and a great treat especially with the hummus which I love. Got to try this.
Blanche, Ive been wanting to ask what kind of nail polish and color are you wearing. It is so pretty and shimmery.
I wish I could tell you the color of the nail polish, I just picked it from the manicurist's collection because I was attracted to it haha!
Holy cow! I make something like this but with squash onion dill! Mmmm and all this time i only knew about steamed cauliflower with sesame sauce!
I don’t know how it’s spelled but it sounds like “ijee”
Yes!! I have a recipe for ijee too!! You know what's up :D Here it is: ruclips.net/video/i2HsrR_Fbyc/видео.html
Miam miam!😋
Lovely! Can we use something beside eggs?
Tough one, do you need a vegan sub? You might be able to use 1/4 cup yogurt.
@@blanchetv Thank you!!! ❤️

Wonderful, thank you so much for your feedback and for giving them a try! Yes I love how economical this dish is too and so filling! =)
Make me Molohaia!!! 😜

Yes--this would be great for him, it has the texture of a nugget you can use broccoli instead of the cauliflower.
Those people can shallot !
LOL yes you know it haha!
Could tabbouleh be used instead of straight parsley?
Do not recommend. Will be too soggy.
@@blanchetv Thanks Blanche. I didn't think it was a very good idea but I wanted to know what you thought.

LOL. shal-lot is not the American (or French) pronunciation, though of course the French has an extra syllable at the beginning.
The correct pronunciation of shallot is, according to Merriam-Webster, both: shə-ˈlät or ˈsha-lət ,
so you are right in any case!
The french word is different: une échalote.
Say you're Arab without saying you're Arab: "everything tastes better dipped in hummus".
Haha you know it! =)
Your comment on the shallots made me łaugh. You know what? Tell the people who scold you on pronunciation of the shallots and tell them to pronounce cumin as the Arabic comoun in future! lol
Yeah!! You get it LOL!
Please do not get upset, I have been living in the States more then 40 year’s, I always get criticism for my grammar when I leave some comments.
I never get upset at people leaving nice comments, no matter the grammar. I understand!
I love how you handled the “shallots” question. You have true Palestinian fire running in your veins!
@@wyenne8046 LOL the rebel in me is strong haha!!!
She's hot..

Do you add baking soda or baking powder? You wrote baking soda but, in the video, you said baking powder.
Sorry for any confusion, I meant baking powder. Will change in the writing!
