Casting Suranne as a companion for a male Doctor is a wastage of her talent. I would really really love her to be the 14th DOCTOR ❤ She is brilliant & amazing with unforgettable roles like Karen McDonald, Ruth Slater, Rachel Bailey, Gemma Foster, Mona Lisa, IDRIS & Anne Lister 🙌🏼
Oh look, Its the 14th Doctor! I really hope someone is reading this in like 3 - 5 years time and is like "How did he know?" Please Whoniverse Gods make it so 🙏🙏🙏
One of the absolute best episodes. Thank you for your performance. What you did with the character was amazing. I could seriously not imagine anybody else playing the TARDIS made human.
I have never been SO impressed by the TARDIS than in this episode. It was a revelation in performance, writing, and costume. So much for me that I didn't give enough credence to the rest of the show until the second watch. This episode brought so many of my favourite things all together. Thanks.
Suranne Jones is brilliant, she's so talented, so dedicated and so enchanting. 💞❤️ It's a delight seeing her in Doctor Who. If you wanna see her shining bright (even more) give a chance for Gentleman Jack, she NAILED IN IT. So perfect.
It really warms my heart to see so many people coming together to share in our appreciation of this show at a time like this, fans, actors and writers alike
"The Doctor's Wife" is one of my favorite episodes of Doctor Who. Suranne Jones is fantastic in the episode. If only they could have made the episode a 2-parter. Neil Gaiman's writing is brilliant, as I've enjoyed his stories since his early Sandman days. When I originally watched the episode back when it first aired, I had no idea that Michael Sheen was the voice of "House." Another great performance to add to a long list. I also agree with the other comments, that Suranne would make a superb 14th Doctor!
LOVE THE STORY...The only criticism that the storyline is too short, Suranne was the right chose to play the TARDIS / WIFE. The ending...what a ending!. if you got hankies...its not enough.
You know when you see an actor doing an interview, and they are so unlike the character you're used to seeing them play. I've known suranne in a few roles. I'm not a massive fan or anything. I've not seen everything shes done, but I admire her as an artist so much! Every role I've seen her play it's like a different person! Her voice, her facial expressions, her body language. It's rare you see that. I honestly think if she was to play the doctor I don't think it would be long before people forget its actually the same actress who played Idris. Same with how no one ever mentions "funny how the tardis looks so much like mona lisa" People forget. She plays them both so well, so different, people actually forget it's the same actress. Plus it would probably the logical reasoning why the doctor would have a face of someone they'd encountered before. The face of a random alien s/he once defeated. Really? What for? The face of a random human he once saved. Not exactly plausible, but we'll role with it. The face of an old companions, fiance/freind/family membe. I don't think so. The face that s/he associates with his/her tardis. Who else?
She could still be the Doctor. Peter Capaldi was in Doctor Who and Torchwood before being the Doctor and she was also in sja so she could be? I rlly want her to be cos I just watched her in Gentleman Jack and in Doctor Foster and she is brilliant!!
"Emulate The Doctor, in a way." Symbiosis. Poor Old Girl's been silent for years and has just as many casualties and trauma on her mind as him. No wonder she's a Bitey Mad Lady. It was an excellent job, and I can't applaud her enough. It's like The Doctor being the man who forgets, and The TARDIS forever stuck as The One Who Remembers.
Weird little story here. When my daughter was younger, she was asking why some people are names "sir" Alex Ferguson, "sir" Tom Jones ect. I explained why. After we watched the SJA eppisode suranne stared in, she became somewhat interested in the actress. I told her the actress name. She seemed confused, by the name, probably because it wasn't a name she'd heard before. I explained that her real name is Suzanne, and alot of actors change their names, and why. A few months later we watched the episode again. She asked me her name again. I told her. Her freind was with her. My daughter turned to her friend and said "her real name is Anne Jones, but she got knighted by the queen so now her name is "sir" Anne Jones 😅
@@lisah6928 Thank you but it's ok.. I just have something planned with my family for tonight that happens to clash... I'm joining for the next one though :) x
Yo yo yo! HBO! Where’s the second season of your bestest show? Gentleman Jack season 1 once bomb but it ended in July and it’s been too long! I need more adventures of Anne and Ann, the couple that made 1830’s England say “damn”. So get your act together and put in on the air, because that show is just amazing and, despite myself, I care. (This is not about Doctor Who, it’s just my inner monologue)
Gentleman Jack 2 is filming right now and only delayed because of the covid -19 pandemic. You will be able to see this amazing show again maybe by the end of this year 😄
@@pferreira1983 Mr. Gaiman wanted Suranne for the role. Specifically. So please just stop attacking her or being deliberately "sarcastic". It's just not good, mate.
@@lowkeythoth But they ended up with a Helena Bonham Carter impersonation. Not saying I hated her performance but it's kind of obvious that is what they were going for.
@@pferreira1983 The Frankenstein's Bride/Tim Burton's type of heroine. That's the definition you're looking for. Suranne did it better than HBC, though. Suranne being the Doctor would make sense as it could be a face the Doctor likes.
Tim Lemmens I’d certainly watch that
@@lifeonmarsproductions Thanks.
I'd really love her to play the Doctor!
That would be epic... if she plays the next 14th Doctor!
@@BrotherTree1 Totally, but only if she references looking like Idris.
She absolutely NAILED the Tardis.
"No, but I ALWAYS took you where you NEEDED to go!" pretty much describes the entire series.
Does anybody else think she would be fantastic as the Doctor?
I had money on her last time
The Doctor is a man...
Anything would be better than the current one, could just be the story and the direction but its needs fixing.
@@bjnz wow aren't you cool.
Ben Jones no the Doctor is an Alien....
The Doctor's Wife was one of the best episodes Doctor Who ever did, and Suranne Jones was brilliant in it. Thanks for this.
Amen.
I really think she should play the Doctor
I so want Suranne to play the Doctor, just give her gentleman jack character. You wouldn't have to change anything.

"She's a woman and she's the Tardis" 'Did you wish really hard?"
Finally something like minded here
"You're going to be playing the TARDIS!". Imagine Suranne's disappointment arriving on set to an actual TARDIS costume. xD

She should absolutely be the next doctor🤩
Wow, iv allways loved this lady, fell for her in corrie, all I can say now is. Suranne to play the Doctor!!! Deffo....
I love this episode. I wish Neil could write and be show runner for an entire season!
She was so wonderful as the Tardis! 😘
Idris was amazing!
she ties with Lesley Sharp for my favourite guest performance, later I found out they did a series together (Scott & Bailey)...that's pretty good too.
Love you, Suranne 🥰😘😘

I wonder if Suranne would ever audition to play the doctor. I think shed make a fantastic doctor timelady
There aren't many actors who can say that they've played both the TARDIS _and_ the Mona Lisa! I've always thought Suranne was brilliant in both roles.
Total opposite of Whittaker. This is a classy cultured lady.
Well both certainly have more class than you, which frankly wouldn't be difficult.
I just can see her and don't remember Anne Lister and Idris .Two amazing characters and performances
My personal canon is that Rachel Bailey is actually Idris. Scott & Bailey is a Doctor Who side arc.

Hi Karen McDonald
the bbc would not pick her she's not diverse enough(white) even though she would be (as a 51 yo man) dam great as a female doctor.
Suranne Jones to be the 14th doctor and get Russell t Davies back to help the show be like before with better aliens and stories.
