Respectfully David, I think you’re way overthinking the J Cole situation. He’s for years has been talking about how he’ll kill your favorite rapper and how he’s the best.. but when it was time for a rap Battle( not beef) against the best,he put out a song and then apologized. So as rap fans, people are disappointed. Since it’s inception, rap has been a competitive sport. Nobody wanted to see a real beef, but a lyrical battle to see who’s the best.. absolutely yes.

The hip hop community wasn’t mad at Cole’s apology, they were upset of him robbing the hip hop community of a chance for rappers to be competitive and no violence were to ever come from it.
Cole spirit wasn’t upset because he was dissing his “brother” and his music catalogue, he spirit was disturbed because the overwhelming response was that no one liked it.
He completely assassinated Kanye and his “brother” Wale’s character on “False Prophets” and never issued an apology to them because why.. the overwhelming response was.. that everyone liked it.
This was a moment for Cole and Kendrick to have a moment of competitive rapping and show people that you can prove that you’re the best and everyone comes out unscathed.
Cole is scared of Kendrick Lamar as a rapper, not because his spirit was disturbed.
But we’ll take it at face value.

Yeah the problem is it’s the rap game and battles are part of the culture. As a person who feels the way they do I respect what he did as a hip hop fan I don’t like that he bowed out it’s like watching a boxing match and 3rd round he’s like I’m sorry I swung at you and hit you with that two piece combo fight over Boooooo lol.
I was actually looking forward too the rest of the fight from a sportsmanship point of view. This was not one of those beefs that I feel was gonna get nasty. It was suppose to be the elite lyricist testing each others pen.
