- "How I praise Thee, precious Savior" is the first line to this hymn. I was not familiar with it until very recently when a friend introduced it to me. It should probably be played more as a praise song, but I thought I would play it as a prayer instead.
Played on a Berlin reed (pump) organ, made in Canada in 1897.
The Lord speaks to his people through the heavenly strains that come forth from these humble and noble organs of old. Thanks once again for "Channels Only"!
That little key must like your playing, cause it was dancing to the music. Well played, I very much enjoyed listening to it. Thanks for a wonderful perfomance and posting of it.
Lovely! - Hymns always sound so great on reed organs. Thank you for posting this, excellent inspirational playing as always.

This hymn is new to me, and I have to say it’s a lovely tune. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏻
Csodálatos szép dallam , Látom, hogy szívből jön a hangszer megszólaltatása. Köszönöm, Tisztelettel, h jozsi.
Köszönjük!
How wonderful - so restful and meditative, just as this hymn should be. This song seems to have unusually potent ability to reach hearts. I can never hear it enough.
It definitely reaches my heart. I think the old reed organs, like human beings, are "channels only" for the breath of spirit and the message of faith.
Been listening to this one many times. It occurs to me that the imagery of this hymn is extremely appropriate for the wind instrument... The power of Spirit is well symbolized by the wind pouring through the reeds. None of which sings alone, as in the community of faith.

Just so beautiful and what wonderful tones come out of that Organ. Such magnificent depth that I can even feel it here. Thanks Rodney for making this video. 1st thing I've seen today and I KNOW it will be the best! :-)

A very beautiful hymn sounding great.
Rodney. I have never contacted you before but it is so nice to hear that these lovely old Reed Organs have been restored to working order. I am writing from Aberdeen, Scotland. Thank you and God bless. Charlie
Sublime interpretação. Mais um inscrito.
I appreciate all these songs you have posted! You do a great job playing them! Thank you, and God bless you!
Hello Rodney, it's so inspiring. Thanks for this.
Beautiful.. I'm Very impressed!
Beautiful as always!
Geweldig mooi om stil te beluisteren
Bless you Rodney. What memories that beings back. It has been decades since I have sung that one. ~mike
Rodney, This is sort of my "life hymn" like we often have a "life verse" or two from the Bible if we are believers. It is a life hope to be able to fulfill the intent of the words as much as lies within me. Thank you for offering this! Stuart
Thanks again, Rodney, for a fresh look at an old hymn.
I'm not religious at all, I don't believe in any Gods, supernatural powers or anything like that. But I can clearly hear the dedication of that music. I love it.
The music has such power because of the devotion of the human heart. One need not be a believer to appreciate this, as you have demonstrated. 💜
Thanks Craig. As for the depth, I just noticed that @2:18, you can also see the depth - look at the fall board key on the right key cheek, I didn't know it was spinning a little from the bass vibrations :)
Works nicely at that tempo and in the prayerful mood. Another great posting Rodney!
Very nicely done, as always!
You are very welcome!
I've known this for many years. I would tend perhaps to play it a touch faster - depending on circumstances, but your interpretation also works well.
