    Their conversations seem so genuine and natural. It's not an interview at all honestly. That's how I know these people mean what they say. They speak from the heart.

    love how marie comes across with so much clarity , the way shes saying she was considering different options and able to clearly sum them up is something that can be sooooo hard for people, we need more people like marie in the world thank god she is also varied & has more to talk about, like her interests and life experience than just giving guidance & advice.

    Wow!!!I've heard Marie's story and I'm shoked, because she put into words everything I am thinking about, I' m 22, I've just graduared, but I don't feel like having an office job.Hip-hop is my biggest passion since I was 11, but I was too scared to start dancing, I almost gave up on this dream, thinking that I am too old. I can relate to Marie's philosophy of life and enterpreneurship and even her consern about problem of gender equality and women education!!I have exactly the same vision about business and self development and my biggest dream is to create a company and to be able to combine all of this things!!!)

      Just wondering, if it wasn't for her cool and "hip" way of relaying things, -------- do you feel that she would be inspiring or as inspiring?
      Thank you! :-)

    • @murray8167
      @murray8167 9 лет назад

      Daniel Weinshtein Would you want to drive a Ford if you only know Chevy. I think it is the material, sincerity and honesty that has elevated her to the status she currently resides with.

    • @marilyndarkfire
      @marilyndarkfire 9 лет назад +1

      Her cool and hip way of relaying things IS what attracts me to her content. She obviously knows what she's talking about, she found her niche which differentiates her from all the others and that keeps viewers like myself tuned in.

    • @murray8167
      @murray8167 9 лет назад

      Daniel Weinshtein Great question and thank you. I think her "Persona" for terminology sake is a bonus. I'm 61 years young and was raised in a structured information paradigm. I feel if Marie had a more structured persona than many people would look and judge. They may think "same old, same old".
      Marie's persona is a fantastic way you demonstrate you don't have to fit the mold to be informative and successful.
      Plus, I feel her target audience is primarily female (men welcomed as well), thusly sending out a subliminal message to women (and open minded men) that you don't have to be what tradition has dictated in order to be successful. I feel she is telling them you do have to be yourself... which she leads by example.
      People dress far more casually in the work place now compared to 30 years ago. Her persona is casual within the platform of information transferring compared to even 10 years ago.
      Hope all is well;
      peace, love, light.
      Murray

    I respect how you didn't continue doing something once you realized it wasn't right for you, and how you found a way to progress spiritually as well as financially. I also respond to you being artistic because I am also an artist, although my current profession isn't the art position that I was classically trained for, but it allows me to be spiritually creative. You remind me of a young me, if I had only had my act together as you do. Thank you Marie, for the opportunities that you are offering. Xoxo Marilyn D'Auria

As a woman getting her self out there again and in b-school, I'm takimg the steps to be super honest as multipassionate, and actually make money, through whats most meaningful to me I've felt so judged by the world before and almost had truly given up. Having clarity is really a gamechanger. Trhough the hard work of being true to yourself and making a difference, Marie and b-school is healping me put myself back out there with a more courageous heart. THANK YOU MARIE, and thank you Jonathon for this interview and all the good your doing in the world!! So good!!! Thank you!!!🙏😊❤

    You are something much deeper. The voice in your head has been influenced by society, other people, even ourselves. But your soul is what you really are and your soul is connected to God and all life. Try some meditation and you'll begin to see the seperation between the voice in your head and who you really are at that deepest core.

    I'm really conflicted about my perception of this interview. On the one hand side, it's great that she had a lot of drive to pursue whatever interest she had, to build a business and it's great if people found her products/services useful.
    On the other hand, there is some sense of superficial, self-help-BS vibe about this. All in line with the "Hey, I'm successful, and you can be too!" self-optimization craze. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful thing to pursue personal growth, to look for a lifestyle that suits you etc, but for some reason so many of these "thought leaders" seem to turn this almost into a fetish, with buzzwords sprinkled all over it in a semi-religious tone: "Passion", "Purpose", "Potential", "Leadership", "Inspirational", etc...and crucially, while it may involve exchange of services with willing costumers and cooperation with business partners, it still seems somewhat self-absorbed.
    What is somewhat lacking, at least from an outsider's impression, is some sense of, I don't know, caring for others beyond just providing services or having "fruitful" relations. Personal growth & a great drive is fantastic, but it lacks a certain humanity, an acknowledgement of the ordinary, the banality.
    Again, there is absolutely nothing that I could reasonably criticize about this beyond my personal, subjective issues, because if she lives and works in a culture/social milieu in which everybody's primary interest is the optimization of one's "purpose", then I guess everybody is happy in dealing with each other in that way. I may simply recognize that it isn't the milieu for me. It seems all a bit...shallow.

Its the complete opposite of shallow. Look up her interview with Lewis Howes. She is way beyond "business" and self development.

      +Demian Haki And also you "can be successful too". There is nothing superficial about that unless you have a defeatist mentality; which is fine but don't hate on people who dont. But Maries success or someone elses success does not have to be YOURS; we all have different goals. Marie (in many other interviews) makes it clear all the time that COMPARING yourself to others is pointless. So if you don't care about personal growth (she likes to learn new things) in the same way as her thats fine. But pursue what you want; thats her main message.
      You make fun of "inspiration" and "potential" but what you fail to realize is that alot people don't pursue or even attempt to find their niche because all types of external and internal anxiety and conformity writes alot of peoples life story. Seeing other humans who you relate to is sometimes the motivation people need.
      First time I have ever seen someone put inspiration and passion in the same sentence as self absorbed.............

      I agree. I have that same feeling... like the center is missing or maybe it's the depth.

      +Demian Haki - I found your comments interesting, but I urge you to look up more of Marie Forleo's content - especially her channel and you'll see that she truly is a genuine person who wants to inspire others and help them win. You said what seems lacking to you is "some sense of caring for others beyond just providing services or having "fruitful" relations" - I don't think anyone can really accurately assess how much someone cares for others by watching a short interview about them. Marie is running a business, but it's the kind of business that is completely centered around caring for others - that's what the industry of personal development is. Sure, there may be some imposters out there and people who are in it for the wrong reasons (as with any industry), but I I truly believe Marie is one of the best humans to exist on the planet in the realm of personal development. She is one of the thought leaders who inspired me to pursue my calling for personal development even after I graduated from medical school and became a doctor. We need more people like her in the world. And I don't think she is boasting about her accomplishments - the interviewer was asking her specific questions about her life journey and she was answering them. If someone interviews you about your life you're going to have to talk about your life too - that doesn't necessarily mean that you're boasting about it if you talk about the things that you love about your life or what you love doing today. Anyway, I hope you see the positives in the interview and I wish you well in your life's journey ahead. Have a great day.

      Dr. Wasi Saleem Good points. Admittedly, it's tough to get an accurate impression from one interview.

    Marie has alot of good information, I just wish she choose to communicate without the "ghetto" slang. Sometimes its literally every other word & I can't get through her YT videos because of it. I don't know if she thinks she is reaching more people by speaking this way, and this is some kind of media persona she's adopted, or if she's actually like this. I understand some people have grown up speaking like this and literally don't know how else to communicate, but (I'm guessing) that's not the case with her.

      I see Marie's manner of speech as an amalgam of a very ubiquitous colloquialisms and highly inflected with pop-culture. I think the idea of a "ghetto" way of speaking is a think of the past. With the popularization of social media and cross over appeal of hip hop stars and reality TV stars who speak with more urban sensibilities, this language peppers the podcast, blogs, and general conversation of people from all backgrounds and educational levels. She also taught hip-hop for many years and I'm sure listened to lots of songs that use the slang she's adopted. But also, we cannot infer anything about her upbringing or friend circles. The development of language is complex and nuance from person to person. Also, language is fluid, not fixed. I'm 34 years old and still incorporating phrases and words I like into my lexicon.

      That is who she is as she has stated in a few interviews she has done. I give her great respect because she stays herself instead of giving into the "norm". She shoots from the lip and not the hip. Besides does it really matter how she talks? I guess you can always ask for your money back.
