    My first rifle was a Mauser M18 .308 and I just love it to bits. Great first centrefire rifle - would recommend to anyone. Great review, mate.

    I bought an M18 several years ago in 300 WinMag. I love this thing. Ironically, I bought it for use with an electronic/night vision scope. However use of such scopes is now illegal in my state so I cannot use it for its intended purpose. Anyway, it has made several rifles now obsolete or at least redundant. Due to the heavy electronic scope, I bought this because of its light weight and good reviews and I found a great deal. Something awesome I found is that the loads I shoot in my Remington 700 "Police" (target) rifle shoot to the same point of impact as the M18 so they can share handloads! Awesome rifle that outclasses many of the others in this price range. The only downside is that I cannot fine any accessories to change or adjust any of the features but it's pretty awesome as-is.

    Great review, I have a M12 30.06 and a Sauer 100 .223. I can shoot MOA or less @200m - 300m with either all day but with the M12's lighter barrel it gets whippy pretty quick. I'm waiting on a M18 LR in 308 (or maybe 6.5C). I love these rifles accuracy and the bang for $$$ is outstanding.

    I've owned a Steyr and have handled the M18. The M18 stock is definitely not as good! The Steyr stock is really solid. I'm keen to get a Sauer 100, the bolt is smoother on the Mauser but the Sauer feels better and all reports accuracy wise are outstanding even though they are close relatives with some interchangeable parts and both made by Sauer.

    Good review mate, I am a big fan of these rifles. My brother has one in .270 and it's great. My only gripe with them is the stock felt a bit cheap and hollow compared to my Tikka, and the magazine retention spring would randomly come out. But at 2/3rds the price of the Tikka, with a similar weight, trigger, action, and accuracy, it's a winner I reckon.

    • @fhckoutdoors

    I'm new to guns and hunting. I bought a m18 in .270win. Would you please make a how to lube and maintain a m18? I can't find info anywhere.

    • @fhckoutdoors
      @fhckoutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Hey mate, it’s a bolt action, so you don’t need to go too over the top. Store it with a light coat of oil. Wipe it dry before use. Lubricant attracts dirt and crud, and will not benefit the operation of the rifle. After firing pull through the barrel and re-oil.
