People are also forgetting that both links in different clothing literally have the same body proportions. All links (besides toon links) have different hair colors, body sizes, and proportions, so Nintendo would not just use the same Link model, they are only lazy in making ports, not 3D zeldas.

Something I haven't heard anyone talk about:
It's well documented by this point that Breath of the Wild took a lot of inspiration from the film Princess Mononoke, the opening scene in particular.
Well, in the film, while Ashitaka is running from Tatarigami, his arm gets infected its demonic tendrils, and his journey begins with him seeking out the forest spirit Shishigami in hopes that they can cure him.
I think Link's arm being infected by Malice and possibly him having to have it cured/repaired by the green magic we see in the trailers could be yet another choice from the Zelda team that was inspired by Princess Mononoke.

Maybe it's just an artistic styling that represents Ganondorf from TP. I mean, the Malice does pour out of where Ganondorf was stabbed in both the execution scene and then by Link, and in the first trailer his neck cracks back into place, which could be a link to where Zant broke his neck.
I believe we are dealing with the mummified remains of TP's Ganondorf, which begs the question, how? In Four Swords Adventures we see a new Ganon, one entirely separate from the original Ganondorf, who was said to have also been a Gerudo male. However, of this is TP's Ganondorf, how has he come back to life after he was supposedly dead and reincarnated?

I think the battle between the Ancient Hero and Ganondorf ended up with the Ancient Hero suppressing Ganondorf with His arm like we saw in the first trailer. He was able to suppress Ganondorf for 10000 years until Link and Zelda when exploring beneath the castle in some way caused Ganondorf to break free. So the Ancient Hero's spirit still alive through his will of wanting to suppress Ganondorf wasn't able to hold it anymore so he fused his arm with that of Link's.

He's done it so many times that the Sheikah ended up building hundreds of powerful machines specifically to counter the Calamity.

I can't believe no one has said this. In BOTW, to the west of the Gerudo Desert and Hebra Mountains as well as north of Lost Woods and Death Mountain, you can see giant cliffs separated from Hyrule by a massive chasm. What if the floating islands are chunks of land from this area that broke off? It explains the new style of construction, new environments not matching anything in the current Hyrule, and the weird lack of craters in the ground.

My 2 -cents- rupees: A few months after defeating Calamity Ganon, the monsters of Hyrule are still somehow affected by Malice. Even worse they seem to grow more intelligent, teaming up with powerful monsters. Zelda goes through the Castle's library researching the events of 10,000 years ago, while Link does his best to repel the fiercer monsters. Finally, Zelda finds a lead and they decide to venture wherever Ganondorf is supposed to be detained. As they make their way through the grotto, they start to see embers of malice floating through the air... Eventually, they arrive at the resting place of the King of Thieves. Malice is pouring out left and right, but the the Hand still seems to hold him down.
Ganondorf feeling the presence (of the descendants) of those who sealed him here, manages the turn his neck and open his eyes. He sees the Princess with the sealing power, his hatred flares up, the malice intensifies, the very earth begins to crack under our heroes' feet. Link draws the Master Sword, but Ganondorf attacks his arm with malice, corrupting his skin, muscles and bones. His arm starting to wither, he drops the Sword, the earth cracks wide, Zelda and the Sword falls down into the Abyss. Without hesitation, the silent knight jumps to save the Princess of Hyrule. The Hand dislodges itself from the chest of the Demon King, releasing him, but catching Link who's holding Zelda.
However, the corruption is still spreading and Link loses his grip, the Princess falls. The Hand brings our Hero back up, fusing itself to him, stopping and reverting the corruption. The shock of his arm dying, losing the Princess, fusing with an unknown power, he falls unconscious. Ganondorf raises his arms, using all of his hatred and malice, he raises the Castle to the skies, leaving the Princess and the Hero for dead... Zelda miraculously doesn't die from the fall and is rescued by what remains of the Zonai tribe. They go back to find Link and nurse him back to health and give him a *fire-breathing shield add-on*. The game starts underground as shown by Link fighting the disgusting ceiling worm... or none of that happen. /shrug

I would also like to point out (since skyward sword is one of my favorite Zelda games y’all can bite me) that when Link meets Gorko the Goron on the surface he describes a land above the clouds with trees of gold. Not unlike the visuals portrayed in the trailer for BOTW 2. At the time we all thought it was just a fun jab at how the legend is always better than the actual thing but perhaps there’s more to it than that now. It also adds more evidence to this being the same area above the cloud barrier from Skyward Sword.

The mechanical being strikes me as friendly (being powered by similar energy as Link's arm), and I speculate that the yellow symbol may be cue telling the player what "rune" is used to make it work. Also, the "earrings" move in tandem with the creature's hands, making me think that they are actually part of its arms. The rest of the arms are not corporeal, connected to the hands by energy as in the robots of Skyward Sword.

Secondly, I think that Aonuma may think he wasn't able to release Skyward sword the way he wanted as a result of hardware limitations, like having a day-night cycle in the sky, which is heavily shown in the trailer. About the green monster / guardian in the sky with green energy flowing through:
IF the green energy emitting from the hand holding down Ganon is the source / fuel, then when the hand merges with Link... The transmission of energy should end abruptly thus proving the objects running on the green energy as futile. Which means since the source is cut off the monster / guardian in the skyland should no longer function. MAYBE... We get to activate whatever that is in order to get hints or obtain side quests or maybe it serves it's role as a guide which leads me to believe perhaps it's an alley or a guardian of sort created by an ancient race.
By that logic, the hand would work as a companion to Link just like Midna, Fi or Navi. I'm betting my money on the hand being the remainings of an ancient sage imprisoning Ganon cause we didn't exactly get to see the sages in Breath Of The Wild, The ones who sealed the *Calamity* away were Link and Zelda. They did NOT mention sealing away Ganon to be precise rather the Calamity

20:06 another possibility that I have yet to see since everyone seems to assume it’s a malice infection, is the possibility that the malice completely destroyed his arm to the point that it was obliterated or maybe even had to be amputated (maybe that’s why he was lying down in his underwear), and the spectral green arm fuses to him as a replacement. The arm glowing green to me just seems like magic, and the fact that Link’s arm is black reminds me more of how the mummified sheikah monks as well as ganondorf have rotted black skin. I think that is the spectral arm, not Link’s.

12:08 for the lizalfos looking robot guardian thing it looks more like a power or on button on consoles, and it maybe even looks like the yellow might be standby mode. maybe its like a friendly lizalfos style guardian on arrival to that shrine, it'll be cool to see once the game comes out

With the whole pocket dimension time travel theory. I haven't seen many people talking about how the luminous stone crystals seen in the first trailer resemble some of the time crystals seen in the mines in Skyward Sword. When Link uses the new stasis ability you can see spacial warping as it takes effect. The is a bubble like lensing that happens and you can see a warped image of the spike ball moving away as the spacial warping expands outward. This is also similar to the expanding pockets of time the time stones create.
