Thank you! I have been working at trying to budget but I always make it so complicated that I give up. You shared so many ideas that I can incorporate to simplify and actually get a working budget!
What I like and enjoy the most about your videos is the simplicity of your budgeting notebook. I appreciate your candidness about your finances and truly like the minimalist look of your spreads. 💕💅🏻💍🤑💰
Thank you so much ☺️ I’m super not creative and I’m sure there are others like me out there so I needed to find something I could actually replicate without it looking horrible 😂
THANK YOU!!! I finally found a spread that I can understand and follow for my finances. I searched blogs and RUclips videos, and nothing was really helping, I am very grateful for this video!
Those stickers and drawings does a proper bullet journal make. Some people just need cute things to look at or they simply won't use their planners or they use the cutesy as a creative outlet.
Aww thank you so much 🥰 This is the second one of these really really nice comments I’ve gotten in the last few days and they seriously make my day 🥹 Good luck with your budgeting and I hope you have an amazing week 😁
Thank you so much Karlee 🥰 The video was a bit longer than I wanted but I had to explain all my different spreads so hopefully someone might see this and follow a similar format!
@@AmeliaBudgets I've been trying your spreads out for three weeks now and they're really great, but can you tell me how you do budget adjustments? Like if you've got some unexpected income or expenditure. Do you have a video for this?
That’s awesome! So if I had extra income I would probably just group it under “other” - because I always include an “other” line item. And then if I have an extra expense, if it makes sense, I would probably try and classify it as a variable miscellaneous cost. Otherwise, I don’t have a great way to account for them, I did have extra expense that I forgot in April, so I just ended up adding them to the bottom of the page.
Amelia I have been waiting for this video!!! I purchased everything and just couldn't get it together so I have been using paper. But the way you have the bullet journal spreads where I can see my complete month in review is priceless. Each month I am getting better and better and I love it. Thank you so so so much!. Don't worry about being too long...we need it. I NEED IT 😄 Slow down, no need to apologize and don't rush. Your videos are bomb and has helped me greatly. Thank you.
I love that so much Pat - ☺️ I know I can talk very quickly so I’ll definitely try and slow down 😂 And seriously- congratulations on starting a budget and sticking to it - good luck with everything!
You are a very good teacher if I can follow along and actually do the work!!! Can you talk about having discipline not to touch any money during pay periods. I also get paid biweekly. You have gained a student. I also like cash stuffing
Lol it WAS a great find, I almost purchased one off Amazon but the same day I saw the camera arm for $4 and the bullet journal for $3.50 I took it as a sign 😂
So you made this video months ago and probably won't see this and I know you said it as kind of an aside (after you said you were proud of the spread) and probably didn't think much about it afterwards, BUT I just randomly came across this video and had to say: You say you're not creative but you made spreads from scratch to fit your needs. You say you didn't do a "proper" bullet journal (with stickers and doodles and whatnot) but you DID. You've created a functional system (aka a system that works for you) which is exactly what Ryder Carroll created the bullet journal to be. If that's not a "proper" bullet journal, I don't know what is. All of us are good at different things. Maybe don't be down on yourself about what you think you can't do and remember what you ~can do? (Also, not for nothing, but I think your spreads look very nice💖) (This isn't a knock to people who like to beautify their journals. If a bullet journal is both functional and #aesthetic that's great. But if it's only #aesthetic, and not functional, what's the point?)
I love this, thank you so much. I didn’t know any of that so that genuinely makes me so happy. Because ultimately you are right, I created something that absolutely fits my needs, and even though I would love if it looked “nicer” - I did it in a way that I can actually keep to my budget and it was so time consuming to prepare that I stopped. Happy Holidays 🥰
Amelia, thank you for this video. You have noooooooo idea just how tickled pink i am about *THIS* very video!?! I have been trying to set up something like this for myself, looking for videos all over the internet for over 2 years now. I've tried different spreads, different format. Sadly, none has worked for me so far. I am absolutely convinced this kind of set up will help me. My biggest question now: to combine or to not combine in my day-to-day Bujo 😁 Edited to add: I made the decision to not combine in my bujo. I'm going to do as you do, i.e., using a separate journal to keep track. It'll save me creating a dedicated spread in my current bujo for 2023.
Oh Lynne this comment makes me so happy ☺️ I really hope this sort of budgeting works for you! There was another RUclipsr, Moon Budgets, who sadly is no longer active who sort of took my general format and added in so much creativity and made it more like the aesthetic bullet journal spreads you typically see on Pinterest - so even though I think you already set everything up (I think it’s a good idea to spilt, I still technically have a regular bullet journal although I use my budgeting one more frequently) her channel has some very nice videos. Best of luck in 2023 🤞🏻❤️
My question with categories is how do I categorize going to walmart where I buy groceries and other things like clothes in the same trip? I'm probably making this more complicated that it is, but that's where I get hung up. Thanks!
hey im just an other viewer going through comment and just saw this one. honestly what works for me is to "organize" grocery and misc stuff seperately in cart and do self check out only one group at first see the amount (before you check out second group), write it down (i usually put it down on my phone) then continue self checking adding other group then grab reciept for the total and subtract the first total you write down from the full amount to see the total you spent on second group. hope this helps
I would like to know when in you day/weeks you take time to fill those. I always feel like I will do it too early, so I wait and wait and finally am late
So I typically fill everything out on the weekends, but then I try to keep a running log of expenses with my google sheet budget, I just don’t always keep up with it like I should 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you! I have been working at trying to budget but I always make it so complicated that I give up. You shared so many ideas that I can incorporate to simplify and actually get a working budget!
Watching in 2024. I love how easy to follow this layout is. Thanks for sharing.
THE most helpful budget planner video on the whole of RUclips. THANK YOU!!!
Wow, thank you so much ☺️

Thank you for making this video! This is definitely THE most useful bullet journal budget set up ever! 🤩
Aww thanks Nora 🥰 I’m so glad you liked it!

Thank you for this! Just ordered my budget planner materials and this gave me some great ideas on how to maybe lay mine out.
You are the only budgeting RUclipsr that I have watched and actually motivated me to start my budget so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Hi Amelia! I am Boo! Wonderful channel you have! New subbie here to support you
I love your simple look and how you change colors every month
Thank you ☺️ I’m the least creative person ever lol 😂 So I needed to do something super simple!

Can u give us an update as if your ever coming back ??.
You get paid bi weekly and you calculate 200 for groceries per month ? Wouldn’t it be better to calculate hi weekly instead of monthly ??
