at least the first one has become easier. You can now die in a level and still get the box gem; in the original you had to go through every single level without dying to get their respective gems. (now this only applies to certain levels that have the colored gems) also, the boxes in the bonus level weren't required, but at least you can retry bonus rounds in the n sane trilogy unlike CB1
I'd say that the orginals are actually easier with their own jumping mechanics, of the remakes Crash 3 is on par with the original in terms of playability.
I never owned the original PlayStation as a kid so most of the time I saw Crash Bandicoot was when my friends were playing it at their houses. The only real experience I had with Crash Bandicoot myself was Crash Team Racing which I played a fuck-ton, and whenever you got the Aku Aku power-up he would yell "Ooga Booga" so I always just assumed that was his name.

One quick thing I noticed about the N. Sane Trilogy, in the original Warped in the medieval levels the guys who would swing the swords around would sound super over the top and loud. Now they just make a quick "eh" sound and that's it, this literally has no importance, but I'm not gonna lie, do miss all of their overdramatic screams. Doesn't change my opinion of the new trilogy though, it's great. RIP over the top knight guys swinging swords, you will be missed.
The bridge part is one of my favorites actually LOL. When I was a kid I remember being stuck there actually for months, and when I finally made it, it made me feel so good that it just made me love that level.
In Crash Warped there is an idle animation where Crash throws a Wumpa fruit in the air. If you wait for him to throw it and then start moving around, the fruit will eventually land on you showering you in pink fruit. Because you are moving Crash doesn't spin, and you can keep the pink on you!

Oh my god I found that first hidden level you were talking about when I bought them game for the PS3 from the PS store a few years ago..I was so...so shocked to see that.
After so many years...man that was a nostalgia hit.. even though i cant afford to have a system to play it, watching playthroughs of it made me kinda time travel to the time when i was a toddler. and enjoying those weekend mornings with Crash. Man i had so much fun back at those days. Playing and just by accident entering a secret level or getting a hidden gem was so thrilling. I mean nowadays games are like go there do that buy this to manage or acquire something , Crash managed to make you have more fun without even guiding you anywhere, just portals or levels that you just enter and have fun.
It would have been great if the code at the main menu has Spyro fly across the screen or something, that would have been way better than.. Removing the icon select.
I'm at the point where I'd buy a PS4 JUST to play this, I LOVE the original games for the PS1 and it's killing me that I haven't tried out the remastered games yet
Love that they kept the Alien Sign level! SO Awesome! In the Warpped game- did they also keep the hidden bonus stage at the 'end' of the game? I believe it was 5 more levels? It was found in the center of the main stage when selecting world of levels. (I know, spoilers!) but it was one of my fave aspects of the game.
as much as i love modern video games especially first person shooters and open world rpg's, it is SO refreshing to play a simple and fun game like crash. its just fun, and i am so happy they remade this. let's hope they do the same for spyro!

90's were the golden era of video games (at least for me), and this remastered versions of "old" games are a love letter to that era.. the nsane trilogy is by far the best, crash bandicoot is freaking hard, just how it used to be! job well done

I remember knowing about those secret levels when I was 7yo, but it's funny cuz I definitely didn't find out about them on the internet... I guess I read it in those PlayStation magazines that came with a lot of hints and walkthroughs. This brings back memories. Great video!
It's funny to still find things that I didn't know about. Actually the crash games were my first games I ever played and I played them way too much. The best part is that I were so confused when I missed 2 gems on my playthrough and the ones I missed were the dino might secret level and the last one that just pops out of nowhere to the ward room xD

I don't know if you guys know but there was a glitch commonly called the glitched high jump where you slide, jump, then immediately spin. they actually brought it back, but there were some very big cheats you could do by doing the high jump like getting the red gem early. well vicarious visions actually moved the gem upwards so you could no longer cheat

There is ONE thing that was left out of the remasters for Crash Warped and it was the dialogue at the end of Dingodile, N. Tropy, and N, Gin fights. There used to be dialogue in them at the end of the original crash warped

In Warped you can cheese the 2nd Boss, Dingodile. Before the fight take the time to practice and learn how to "super spin jump". It's achieved by doing a slide jump and as you reaching the peak of the jump, you spin giving you greater height. (Equal to a double jump... which you get after defeating this boss) Once you got it down, go to the fight and as it start super spin jump over the defense crystals to reach Dingodile in the middle. Smack him then super spin jump back to the outer rim of the stage before he explodes. Before attempting to go for a second or third damage, wait till he proceeds with the animation of firing the rockets... Go too early and he will aim at you while your in the center. You can finish that boss in about 30-40 secs. good tech. for speed running.

Crash was more a guest character, like Bowser and Donkey Kong were. Spyro is part of the main Skylanders cast, so unless the Skylanders series is cancelled (As a guy who likes the series, I would be personally disappointed.), or Activision allows him to have solo adventures again... I mean I'm not saying it won't happen, but Spyro I think has less of a chance than Crash. Then again, sales for the last Skylanders weren't great and the N-Sane Trilogy is selling really well...
