@@Bubbs_Kahn I see it more of a problem of diversity. The higher skill matches all feel the same. Everyone is running whatever is meta, having basically the same play style. Cod used to be more of a sandbox, now people just run whatever is good no matter what.
SBMM does not “put you in a lobby to make you feel like a god”. EOMM does. SBMM puts you in lobbies with other people who are roughly as good at the game as you are. That allows you to progress naturally up the ladder by moving slowly from skill bracket to skill bracket without the frustration of potentially pitting you against overskilled players or the boredom of stomping underskilled players. There is a reason real life competitions have skill brackets. The best play against the best and the newbies play against the newbies. You don’t see a competitive basketball team contain both LeBron James and Brittle-bones Magee, the guy whose never held a ball in his life. SBMM has been around for decades in gaming and has been a part of some of the most beloved shooters of all time. The fact Activision found a way to twist it into something awful in the last five years doesn’t mean the concept is a bad one. I’d even go as far as to say pure SBMM could have actually buoyed player numbers, by protecting new, low skill, and casual players from getting dropped into lobbies with (no offense) guys like you. At least allowing the option to continue in the skill-based intro lobbies indefinitely alongside the random matchmaking lobbies could have stemmed at least SOME of the player churn.
That’s because it’s not awful. The literal ONLY people who complain about SBMM are streamers, content creators and try hards. Average players have no issue with it. 90% of the player base doesn’t mind playing people in their skill level. @toptiertech7291 god, could you imagine if LeBron one day just went “I’m tired of having to try my ass off every game against these pros. I should be allowed to go play middle school JV teams. It’ll be fun for them too because getting stomped 200-0 will inspire them to want to suck less.” If you are proud of being good at a game, you should be proud to have to sweat your ass off every, single match against other good players. Why would any self-respecting good player even want to be in the same lobby as someone who picked up the game that day? If anything, demanding no SBMM as a good or great player is, in fact, demanding to be ‘put into lobbies that make you feel like a god’.

If you love it, you can still enjoy it while it's still there. You still have a good 6 months before it dies. Think of it like this. This game was meant to imitate classic CoD, and CoD games before 2019 basically had a 1 year life span anyway online. So it dies as it lived, a true CoD clone to the very end.
When I did try playing it and it was not Fun and felt like it was sweaty and had a lot of try hards and I didn’t like the gun play and it felt it had more sbmm
I really enjoyed the game but it getting delayed by over a year with nothing to show for it and having god awful hit detection at release really killed the momentum of the game. Edit: Forgot to mention the movement nerfs
The game was released in the exact same condition as the beta. To this day, hitsscan is a major issue with ghost bullets happening every 2-3 gunfights. No ultimate goal in the game, progression was ABYSMAL. 3 weapon level a match if you’re LUCKY. Shit camo. Shit game modes. Shit abilities. The game was ass. Imagine if a CoD game released and the bullets you were firing just stopped working. It’d be fixed in a weekend. The fact that xdefiant has this issue TO THIS DAY is just unacceptable as a player. So glad I dumped this heap of garbage after 200 hours
SBMM only works for the bottom 10% of players. It doesn't increase player retention for those who know how it works. The moment I get my super fun or high score match, I'll play a different game or do something else entirely because I know it hasn't been since CoD WW2 where lobbies didn't disband and you could actually make friends and have some sort of fun socializing and not just playing.
I really wanted to like this game and gave it a pretty good shot during season1, maybe 50 hours or so. But I just didn't end up liking it. I really wanted this to be serious competition for COD, which has always been my main. But I always ended up going back to COD, despite the oppressive SBMM. Never went back to it once bo6 launched. I liked the maps and general gunplay, but didn't like the "super powers".
Free to play kinda killed it it’s not a game for everyone but the people who enjoyed could’ve just payed to play the game instead of just expecting people to spend money on the item shop or on battle passes
Free to play works with lots of other games--CS:GO, Fortnite, etc. If this game were paid, there would be zero reason to buy it over actual, real CoD. The entire premise of XDefiant was that it was like a free Call of Duty game.
@ yes it works when people are spending money on the game but with xdefiant if people payed to play they could’ve put that money into giving people more content
Back to singleplayer games exclusively now. I absolutely refuse to ever engange with these BS SBMM algorithms ever again. They don’t deserve a penny from my wallet or a second of my playtime.
Yes let's go 😂😂. I hated this game with a passion. This game was full of sweats and elitist. The git good crowd obliterated me and talking about i started from the bottom so do you. Guess where this game is going back to u guessed right the scrapyard. It feels bittersweet knowing the cod killer couldn't dethrone the goat cod 😂😅. Also the lack of sbmm couldn't keep players so now what?
Thats litteraly not the reason and it doesnt matter if its on steam or notits free and the ubisoft app is just like any other client to play games and its free plus it got good marketing but still its not a COD killer because COD has to many players and its just not the same
The only real competition left for COD multi-player is Battlefield and Halo. Halo really needs a Playstation release. If Sony can put MLB on Xbox, Microsoft can put Halo on PS5.
The people that wanted Xdefiant to beat CoD are same people playing Bo6 right now. Hold that L gamers. CoD is unstoppable, you couldnt stop yourself from playing CoD if you tried.
Okay but that's not a healthy mindset to have regardless of the many flaws of XDEFIANT it needed to stay in the sphere so cod would actually have a reason to innovate and try to do better that's what competition does with capitalisim.

@@UnknownHome42 What're you talking about. Wuthering Waves is the Genshin killer
It's the internet do you really expect clickbait bullshit to go away?
@@heavenlyvirtue8367quite a contender😂
Only game that succeeded at that ironically is CoD which the first one was known internally as “Medal of Honor killer”.
But yeah, calling any game an “X Killer” is setting very unrealistic expectations.
@@latro5002the problem is that doing that invited direct comparisons. As a brand new game you don’t want direct comparisons to the biggest and best
I don't like sbmm, but without it, new people don't join your game, because when they do, they get CRUSHED by the game's veterans... it's a necessary evil to maintain a community.
Its not,if that were the case then none of the muktiplayer games since the dawn of time wouldnt work or sell well
@bigbig54 u know that they had it right? The problem with cod is that they abuse of it... i just to strong.
@@drk-designer9651 yeah, thats what i meant, they have to have some sort of matchmaking but if it gets to spevific it becomes a problem
@@bigbig54SBMM is necessary. How many multiplayer games today have zero SBMM? There’s a reason. If I’ve been playing the game for 3 hours there’s no reason I should be in a lobby with people who have played it for 400 hours.
@@toptiertech7291 just bc they have them doesnt mean they need them... multiplyer was good before and now you are litteraly setup to lose or win depending on the mercy of matchmaking
Battlefield works just fine without it
Yes ,there is no reason ,but obviously i dont mean zero matchmaking, every game had some but EOMM(engadement based match making)has no place in games
I loved this game but I left a long time ago because of the issues with stability and my oh my the snipers. In a game like this with a longer ttk snipers took the fun out of the game on every map and gamemode. I played back when it released for about 30 ish hours, my friends got a few guns gold till they changed how to get gold too and they stopped playing and we kept up w updates for months too but we didnt like the direction the game went
alternate title: acknowledging xdefiant
First rainbow six extraction now xdefiant damn ubisoft what is happening to u 😢
It's the market correcting itself.
Ubisoft sponsoring a video about their own direct failure is wild 💀
Been playing since day 1 and ill be there on the day of its funerL. My jaw hit the ground last night when I heard. Ubisoft has been failing game after game...I thought since this was one of their very few games with its head above water that it would be safe...for now.
😂😂😂😂 says he likes the game but never made any videos on it cod community is a different kind of special people
Ikr lol, he’s only here cuz of that bag he doesn’t care. The whole video is literally just a 10 min advertisement reading from a list lmao. He even plug in a ss2 gold pack in the middle lol.
And the fact that he’s only lv 14 even tho he said that he play for hours. Idk why he need to lie his ass off for the bag but ok 😂😂
True. Although he's not the only RUclipsr to not do so to be fair to him.
sign the save xdefiant petition and share it changeorg
nothing is gonna change dude lol its ubislop we are talking about
@@sesuneirooh u poor thing the game was failing long ago yall just couldn’t get it through ur heads it was never going to survive and had nothing to do with Ubisoft 😂
You realise companies exist to make money & they’re not going to lose more money just because people signed a petition
“Oh you signed a free petition? I guess we will just keep eating 100k+ losses a month now”. Maybe you should have bought some bundles
Honestly i wouldnt have played but idk i like cod too much
It was a good run......
My guy anyone with a brain saw this coming
Thanks for noticing my brain. 😁

ThE cOD kiLLeR
It’s not Xdefiant Ubisoft is going down, look at the new AC game, they haven’t made a new division game either, rough times for Ubisoft
The game began falling about a month and a half after launch, I know u people wanna hate on Ubisoft but just face it the game was never gonna survive
Lmao i love how people were acting like this game was gunna be a cod killer because no SBMM/EOMM. Huh, guess the matchmaking system focused on keeping players engaged and having balanced matches thats supported by mountains of data keeps more players. Plus the camo and challenges were such ass
Lmao the cod killer lasted not even a year loooooool
Love the game, but uninstalled it right away as I just don't want to spend more time on something I know is doomed. Fuck Ubisoft. I hate rigged COD, but love this type of game. Now there's nothing to play again.
I stopped playing due to slow progression and bad hit reg as there are no servers in my country, but I did have high hopes for it
Yep takes for ever to level up guns for attachments so players that have them swipe out new players! They really let the game die
If xdefiant was made by any other publisher other then Ubisoft,EA or activision it would be a great game
No it wouldn’t 😂 it would be even worse because it wouldn’t have a budget
There is literally still no progression. The script they sent you to read was inaccurate in that part.
ubisoft sponser 😭😭😭ch0pper 😞
Mannnn I was about to try thisss!! I can't even go download it... sad
Should have released on steam ubisoft loves to commit sudoku with their games lol
Wow 😂 Not really surprising though.
So are they gonna say why? They’re faq doesn’t say why it was shut down?
Probably because they can’t keep players a while back they said they couldn’t even keep 20k
I think any benefits the game would get from being free to play was mitigated by the lack of sbmm, pushing new players away
What do we do now?
R.I.P To everyone Who thought this would kill cod
6:14 me watching the video in 144p like: yeah sure whatever you say
Hey guys, dont forget to buy your Black Cell Pass and get an XP Boost
How long is it going to take to get titanium prisma on my m4a1? Currently level 115
Wait you mean this isn't sarcasm, folks really honestly didn't see this game shutting down?
Right?
its funny watching the SBMM driders taking this as a W and how they are right
Cuz they kinda are, u can be mad about it all u want but facts are facts 🤷
@@fenrirsfolly92sure thing bot
SBMM only works for the bottom 10% of players. It doesn't increase player retention for those who know how it works. The moment I get my super fun or high score match, I'll play a different game or do something else entirely because I know it hasn't been since CoD WW2 where lobbies didn't disband and you could actually make friends and have some sort of fun socializing and not just playing.
@@LunaPPK facts don’t care about your feelings
@@fenrirsfolly92 yet tthe bot is still dulu sure kid
They should have put it on steam
Whats funny is that concord actually lasted longer than xdefiant in terms of development time
I really wanted to like this game and gave it a pretty good shot during season1, maybe 50 hours or so.
The only first person shooter I have liked since the MCC came out. I think I am officially done with arena FPS for good.
Back to singleplayer games exclusively now. I absolutely refuse to ever engange with these BS SBMM algorithms ever again. They don’t deserve a penny from my wallet or a second of my playtime.
Never played it, knew it would flop just like any other “cod killer”
The game is dog shit anyway it a joke of a game where the fuck is the splinter cell game they promised years ago
this is the funniest thing I've heard all day
I never liked the game, and no im not a ubisoft hater
Won’t miss it
bros pushing a pvp game to pve fanbase, aint no one cares
Yes let's go 😂😂. I hated this game with a passion. This game was full of sweats and elitist. The git good crowd obliterated me and talking about i started from the bottom so do you. Guess where this game is going back to u guessed right the scrapyard. It feels bittersweet knowing the cod killer couldn't dethrone the goat cod 😂😅. Also the lack of sbmm couldn't keep players so now what?
Ubisoft is such a shit company.
Big oof ... Glad I didn't invest any time / money into this and only played it during the first week it lunched.
Nah I'm glad I did sbmm needs to go away permanently
@@therealjuice38that’s not how the overall gaming community sees it
If only they released it on Steam
Thats litteraly not the reason and it doesnt matter if its on steam or notits free and the ubisoft app is just like any other client to play games and its free plus it got good marketing but still its not a COD killer because COD has to many players and its just not the same
Play it somewhere else, and u really believe that’s the reason? 😂
The only real competition left for COD multi-player is Battlefield and Halo.
Halo really needs a Playstation release. If Sony can put MLB on Xbox, Microsoft can put Halo on PS5.
Nope
No chance.
The people that wanted Xdefiant to beat CoD are same people playing Bo6 right now. Hold that L gamers. CoD is unstoppable, you couldnt stop yourself from playing CoD if you tried.
A real one would want any other game to defeat cod so they CAN ACTUALLY MAKE A GOOD call of duty GAME…
Okay but that's not a healthy mindset to have regardless of the many flaws of XDEFIANT it needed to stay in the sphere so cod would actually have a reason to innovate and try to do better that's what competition does with capitalisim.
Its definitely not that healthy to say that but cod innovation never works I've never seen a time cod innovated past bo2 that anyone liked
I stopped playing cod… it’s the same shit every year. People shouldn’t just give them money if they aren’t making any good games.
Make sure to zip up activisions pants when your done.
I blame tictok kids attention span is gone is why fortnite does seasons monthly almost instead of 3months 6months
The cod killer
The game sucked in my opinion straight off the back

This game was not that good
I'm so glad this garbage game is gone
