- I’ve found a minimalistic solution to watching the news/consuming media that works quite well for me. Definitely not for everyone but I think there's something to take from less distractions and focusing more time on the things that matter. Thats always free.
I think there’s valuable information out there that we need to be informed about - but its gets loss in the chaos of mainstream media. Not all news stations or news articles are bad. But my goal has recently been to find less distractions and optimize my digital life for more intention. hopefully some can take value from it.

Are we consuming news to stay informed, or to be entertained? What are we exposed to in this process? What if we can minimize distractions and focus our time and energy in better places...
Thanks for watching.

I stopped reading news year ago, I know if there was something important I will be aware of it one way or another. My mental health can only handle so much.
You're so right! And if its not important enough to reach you, it's one less thing to be distracted about!
Before someone asks.. No - not sponsored! I was not paid to say what I said :) Honesty is worth more, than making money...
Thanks for watching!
I am with you here. I rarely if ever watch the news and when I look up news articles I actually look for foreign bases websites, BBC for example, so that I can get somewhat of an unbiased opinion on what is actually going on
Thank you for your videos. I get really inspired as I watch minimalism videos. News is really important, because it is everywhere; we better have a critical point of view and just not being overwhelmed by these. Greetings from Switzerland ! 😋
I have not watched the news in any form for years. Amazing when there is a school shooting or some major and I don't find out for a day or more. Many times I just get news from friends or coworkers and family. I like not stressing out from it. I can think back when I had a Twitter or FB account and I would stress out from seeing my feeds. It is so freeing being OFF social media. No need for it. I'm not going back. Thanks Jesus. 🙏
This was the video I’ve been looking for
Been here since skate videos lol we used to skate at the park together we were never really friends but I always saw you around glad to see you doing good😅
Love this and I love the new paper! I haven't watched a single minute of news since Coronavirus began. I've been considering making a video about that. It's not unusual for me - I stay informed other ways (including new paper) so I don't feel like I'm slacking on that "adult responsibility" but it's not distracting and mentally exhausting or negative. We need to be talking about this more 👏
You hit the nail on the head! I definitely consider myself to be still easily informed without being super distracted by the mainstream media. You would make a killer video on a topic like this! would love to see it :) Cheers.
Reuters and Al Jazeera are the only daily sources of news I trust.
Heck yeah! Glad you found a good option!
Very nice video specially in this time when news is all about negativity (though it's reality) still it jamming our heads. We should not consume too much news. If a news is important it will automatically come to us.
I agree, it would be hard to not know about major events happening in the world... thank you!
Awesome video! I really never watch the news. It can be depressing or scary at times to watch but also interesting, positive, and informative. With the good always comes with the bad & vice versa I guess. haha😀
TheSkimm is a free email subscription I read on a daily basis to be informed. They do tend to bias towards the liberal side, however if you read knowing this, you’ll be able to get through opinions and gain an understanding on what’s going on in the world on that day.
Awesome, I checked it out, and added a link to my description! Thank you.
I would like to see more videos
i dig your content! awesome work, even if it'S against the minimalistic approach but: More of it pls
Is a shikibuton better than a regular bed?
It’s way too agenda-driven. I try to avoid it all.
I agree! awesome!
Wikipedia (news section) should be a rather neutral source of essential news, I think.
The New Paper sounds like a great alternative to traditional news media outlets. I’m not sure though if it’s a good alternative for me, since I live in The Netherlands. Btw I enjoy watching your videos!
Thank you thats awesome! The beauty of the internet! I hope the Netherlands is nice. Cheers.
Cade Prior The Netherlands is nice! Have you ever visited us?
@@KevinvanDun unfortunately not yet, but will someday!
Will we see any more Karen freak outs at skateparks?
If I come across more Karen’s of course :)
I always get my news from my parents when they tell me stuff, like big stuff. I’m 23 and stopped watching/reading the news years ago
Where did you get your rug that’s underneath your futon?
Its a tatami mat check out his video sleeping with a Japanese futon
Also check out the Epoch Times. Not only are they non-partisan, they have some deep, long-term investigations that are really eye-opening. And it's a real newspaper!! So less digital time. Very minimalistic.
I would be highly skeptical of the claim that they are unbiased. They have very strong and clear biases.
i now do news once a week.
How are you brother
I'm good! how are you!
Wait, no.. come back!! I know you're a minimalist, but I don't think a minimalist approach to youtube is the answer.
Blissfull ignorace?
Do u still know the 14 year old dude??
