You both have skills that are valuable , falling trees, bucking them , building as you go .. I enjoy your drone work too neat photography , that's one tool i do not have yet ..Big projects but one at a time you are getting there .. Very well done ... I would consider that kind of life myself but i'm now 76 and my terrier is 13.5 years old so we will continue to explore the Olympic Peninsula where i live ..

I just found you guys yesterday, watched 8 episodes so far and subscribed to your channel! You two are made for each other. What fun to watch your off grid lifestyle and progress in the great Canadian outdoors along with the two cats and two dogs. My wife of 50 years passed away 2 years ago so my daughter and family along with grandpa (me) left the city and moved to 10 wooded acres in the Pacific North West 25 miles from the ocean in Washington state where we get 85 inches of rain each year. You gotta love it. We are off
grid with the exception of electricity but you two have inspired us already to look into a solar system like yours. Our 8 dogs, 6 cats, 5 parrots and pet mink love it here too as we all get back to the basics as nature intended it to be. Please keep the videos coming. This old man loves them. Peace!

When i was living in Maine friends had a wood fired Sauna on a deck to they're cabin house and then the ice cold rinse spring fed shower afterwards. Never felt cleaner than those sauna's up there in Greenbush Maine. Tim and Mary were teachers and raft guides in Maine and grew wild rabbits and had extensive gardens was very cool.

Also lemon balm, lemon grass, catnip, basil. They all deter mosquitoes. I keep potted mint, basil, lemongrass, and citronella close to me on my patio. I mist that at night when I'm out there to make them even more effective. Then I run my hands through them and then run my hands over my face, arms, feet. doTERRA sells many oils that you could be wearing such as peppermint. Mosquitoes and no see ums do stay away from me when I wear them. I also continue to propagate all these plants that I have and keep small pots of them around doorways . Also make sure you're not wearing any sweet scented soaps, shampoos as that attracts them. One last thing that works and I don't know why is Moroccan Oil. www.moroccanoil.com/us_en/hair-care-moroccanoil-treatment-original-us I put some on my hair and then rub my hands over face arms feet. Discovered that by accident! Expensive but you use very little.

Nice tub! I've been using a Tarter horse trough...er... HOT TUB out in the wilderness for several years and finally got it set up a few months ago in the Michigan wilderness where I live. I will say, if yours is a "hippie" tub, then mine is a full-on "trash tub." I just set it on cinder blocks and make a fire under it. It isn't ideal because of the smoke but this time I have a propane burner nearby to heat extra water to pour in to heat it back up. The advantage of your tub is, well, nearly everything. Except that mine can be thrown in the back of a truck, moved and set up in another location in just a few minutes.
You've done a great job! It is always fun to see how different people tackle the same general project.
In this situation, your have definitely won.
In case people are interested in how to set up a tub in the woods for almost no money, I put up a video of setting my tub up recently:

I'm so stoked for you guys! I'm gradually watching more around my wife to get her imagination going. I would move out into the woods tomorrow. Exorbitant living costs to live further from nature is making less sense each passing day. I also saw a youtube video of Charles Bello living off the grid with his family in the NorCal Redwoods. I highly recommend you guys watch that if you haven't already. Charles is in his 80s and just to hear him speak about his life and see what he created is so inspiring. You guys make me think of Charles if RUclips existed 50 years ago! You guys are at the very beginning of an extraordinary journey creating a life in harmony with nature. Like Charles you learn to care for the forest and it will care for you too!

To make an eco-friendly mop, I would get a stick and sand it down so it's smooth, and then get an old t-shirt or an old towel and cut it into strips. Then you tie the fabric strips onto the stick with rope.
