I hope this video continues to bring everyone in the Death community together for years to come. I know if the band saw this, they'd appreciate the love and I'm so glad we could all share in this moment in one way or another! 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Edit: 10k views on a video from some obscure channel like mine! Chuck's and Paul's influences are still thriving all these years later and the interaction this random video has seen is proof of that. You folks all kick ass. 2nd edit: (11/19/2023) nearly 36k for these legends. I'm looking forward to a potential 30-year celebration tour of Symbolic in 2025. How about you?
Even first Cynic album released in 1993 is a masterpiece of guitar work, so technical, rhytmical and beautiful riffs! At that times it was like nothing else.
he plays it great but look how stiff he is. he really has to work for it to make it happen. compare that to sean's take where he was 18.it looks so fluent and like he can go all day. makes me respect him as a player even more than i already do
@@vacant26 yeah dude! not crapping on gene, he's a beast and plays this almost perfectly. i just rarely seem him working hard like this. usually he seems like he's thinking about what groceries to buy while murdering his kit with no effort
Can't stop coming back to this. Love all these guys obviously but especially Paul. Such a great human no pun intended. Also in incredible shape physically too look at his arms
I went to the show in Austin, this past Tuesday and man did I tear up seeing this live because I waited 17 years for this. I was only 17 years old in high school when I was exposed to Death. To this day, I’m still impressed when I listen to Death

Wow...I have a lump in my throat watching this. The sheer quality of the performance (Paul nailing that solo?!) and the joy it brings these men to show honour to Chuck and his legacy, what a privelege to have this recorded!
I got chills watching this. And sad tears as well. Because Chuck and Sean are no longer with us. That entire album was so ahead of its time and still makes my jaw drop everytime I hear the songs.
Best album from Death. Human was like no other album back then. It spawned the other following ones and many many bands who worshipped the land Death walked on to this day. Human s da Game changer.
I will never get tired of this video. Shoutout to all of them obviously they all deserve lots of love and respect, but especially Paul right now. His band has been through a lot the lasts few years so I'm glad to see him having fun still doing what he loves

Such a great video, and the quality is spectacular. This is beautiful to watch, the joy in Paul’s face, even during the solo says it all. Thank you for capturing this and uploading it. P.S. Flattening, to me is the most aggressive Death song, every riff is more aggressive than the last, perfect opener for a perfect album.
Miss the Saune's . The supper drummer was among the finest of the elite . He said i always made him laugh . My Space could do that haha . Met Paul in Melbourne when they were the undercard for EdGuy . No im not making that up . They played the entire Traced In Air for an adoring crowd who duly left after the undercard was done . One of the most amazing performances I ever saw and ive seen em all . The Ancient Metal Guy reminiscence's from gigs can be gold .
Yep, it really was. There's a Drumtalk special which was made when Sean Reinert passed away, & Gene Hoglan said on it that Sean's parts needed to be treated like Neil Peart's in Rush - you play them exactly as they played them because they were perfect. Can't argue with that.
Do you know if there's someone I can speak to on behalf of chucks estate? I saw someone upload the einhoven performance and they're asked people including myself to donate to a paypal that they allege will be given to cancer charities. But it is dubious at best. If anyone sees this please let me know if you know. Cause chucks mom aint answering the email and eric greif has died.
So the legend says... something to do with someone (Tony Choy?) messing up with Chuck's girlfriend and Paul going "Eh, it's all karma dude", which made Chuck rather furious...

Him and Jason Gobel inspired a looooooot of progressive death metal and don't get nearly as much credit as they probably should
His shred work on Master's On the Seventh Day... album is his craziest in my humble opinion.

No idea. Didn't notice until you pointed them out. Maybe something to do with his Buddhism? Shot in the dark lol.
It's just a ring linked to his Buddhism beliefs. He has been into it before even recording Human, hence "The Philosopher".
When you look at Masvidal's guitar play, I would bet he was influenced by Allan Holdsworth.
