That's under tunic fits you like a glove! You really have the most fantastic figure. Thank you for sharing all your historical knowledge and love for all things vintage!
My favorite video of yours is where you showed off the antique poison ring And I have been wanting one ever since I saw and recently I went to Portland and found 2 of them each for only nine bucks and I got them I’m so happy I knew what they were and it’s now my favorite accessory I love all the things that you show us thank you!!
I remember my Design History professor talking about how those white dresses from the regency era were inspired by the idea of what Ancient Romans wore back in their time. And how that came back later on (I think it was the 1910s or 1920s? Idk).
You should know the costuming from Bridgerton isn't super historically accurate - I mean they invented a summer muff to hide a wrist cast this season hehehe. It's "regency-esque" ❤
@cheekyb71 are you talking to me? You think I don't know that? Costume and historical fashion is my thing. It's one of the reasons Bridgerton drives me insane
Medieval women werent covered for modesty They were covered for 3 main reasons (none of which being modesty) 1) warmth 2) sun protection 3) to stay clean
Indeed, any hobbyst historian will agree that the human ideal of modesty was only that, an ideal. We are after all, just slightly more evolved animals.
@@thatladfromthe40s82 plus it changed definition *alll the timmeee* Just think of how much the definition of modesty has changed in the past half century!
Things sure were fancy back then , I’m pretty sure it’s because they didn’t have cell phones! I really appreciate your videos sharing your knowledge of history. You certainly look elegant and beautiful! Thank you
These are all good choices but my pick would always be the same. The Mark IV Hazardous Environment Suit (HEV). The perfect blend of fashion, defense, onboard medical systems and comfortability.
People covered their hair first, and the modesty tenets grew around that. It was for sun protection in days before sunscreen and also kept hair clean, free of dirt, and protected.
the 1700s dress is actually called a “robe a la francaise” and was popular in the especially in the 1790s. also fun fact during the turn of the century at the beginning of the regency period, the super wide panniers on skirts were still used in a lot of court dress, but the high waisted look was also fashionable so it created some very interesting looking dresses 😂
One critique! As an ancient history your Greek figure should also have been veiling. You didn't specify which polis you were drawing from, but if it was Athenian then the period you were doing is one of extremely heavy veiling similar to that of a modern day naqiib. I highly recommend giving 'Aphrodite's Tortoise: The Veiled Woman of Ancient Greece' by Lloyd Llewellyn-Jones a read. It has some lovely diagrams and takes you through a lot of different styles and periods of Greek veiling.
I would totally wear this bc it's so pretty but it would just be way to uncomfortable and unreasonable. How did they do anything in all these dresses 😭
Fun fact about the regency era, the dress you wore would have been for evening parties only. During the day they would have long sleeves attached to the dresses as well as a white or light sheer crop top looking thing under the dress (I forget what it’s called) to cover their chest for modesty. I was in pride and prejudice and we did a whole bunch of research for a couple of months to make sure we got the costumes historically accurate
The middle ages were the 10th century - the 15th century. The rennesaunce (i definitely spelt that wrong) was in the 16th century. The edwardian era started upon Queen Victoria's death in January 1901. The UK eras are, mostly, named for the reigning monarch or monarch line (example: the tudor period).
Loved the medieval costume and the 1900s 😍 I would say in the 1700s the "hoop skirt" (forgot what the right term in English is) would be more on the hips and not as round, more like a "box shape" (Sorry my vocabulary is limited in English, but i hope you still can understand what I'm trying to say)
if we are speaking historically, some of the dresses you would want to wear are ones that only the upper crust nobility would wear. if you were a commoner you would wear something that was easily affordable and not overly fancy. please keep that in mind
STOP NO YOU DIDNT. THE DRESS FOR 1770 IS A HUMAN MRS POTTS COSTUME AND I HAD TO WEAR IT FOR THEATER 😭😭😭 THAT THING HOLDS SO MANY MEMORIES.
😭😭😭 no way
UNLUCKY. my mrs potts had a basic little gown but that one is super pretty
😂 I am sincerely so sorry
I've seen it used for Madame De La Grande Bouche (the Wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast)!!!!!!
I own that dress too. I brought it after watching season one of Bridgerton because Queen Charlotte is life 😍😅
My and my 5head would have rocked the middle ages
I love your back handed compliment, but some of these foreheads were up to the middle of the scalp. Either that or you have massive fingers 😭
@1n_th3_f10w3rs sadly, there is a middle ground to both, and it's ready to attack anytime I pull my bangs back 🤣
😂 same girl
SAMEEE
the shine off my natural fucking forehead could guide boats to shore during a monsoon. the middle ages would not know what hit them
Damn the sack back really be sacking 💀
frfr💀
Damn- 💀💀
NAAAAAAAAH BRO-😭😭😭😭😭

versatile tunic worn by **both** genders

So cool!!
Absolutely gorgeous 🤍🤍
The drastic clothing style differences between early 1900s and the 90s is WILD to me.
World War One impoverished W. Europe and designs changed to decrease the amount of fabric.
You have alta vendita to blame for that.
The ancient Greece vibe is really cute!

Love the 1800s it’s giving bridgerton💜
This is really cool, I would love to see someone doing this for fashions around the world in different centuries
The 1900s dress really looks like that one outfit from Mary Poppins and it really suits you!
Can you do a Bridgerton inspired outfit video?
She did. What do you think Regency is?

1810s and first one are by far my favs
This is a whole history lesson, love it!
I love the greek one
Grace is ageless despite the wrapping, and you lady just proved it efortlessly
Absolutely love the Regency gown and the colour oh my 💜💜
I would wear that very first 400BCE outfit. That’s gorgeous & timeless ❤
The chiton is such a classic look.
When I saw Greece I screamed: "SO I'LL BECOME THE MONSTER!" and everyone at my family gathering looked at me.
The second dress looked exactly like the one Merida was wearing in Brave during the selection of her husband.
The 1810 actually reminded me of Bridgerton! Am I the only one?
That's because it's set at 1820's England
The second one is giving Merida and I love it!
These are all good choices but my pick would always be the same.
The Mark IV Hazardous Environment Suit (HEV). The perfect blend of fashion, defense, onboard medical systems and comfortability.
1810s are forever my favourite era in fashion.
You look fabulous in any century's clothing.
Yeah I can wear the greece one everyday I love it
The 11th/12th is like what Meredith wore in Brave
In love with the regency era dresses, they look the most comfortable 😂
Love the tutorial. Thank you!❤
1810s is by far my favorite like i would fr wear that today 😭
Educational & informative. Thank you.
You have 1000yrs worth of beauty.
Girl, you HAVE to go to a renfaire this summer!
So pretty!!!
Se turned into Lady Dimitrescu on the last one
The 1810s one defintly reminded me of rose from the titanic❤❤
I really like the 1800's and early 1900's fashions for ladies. It was cute. I like your hair in the purple dress thingy..
The 1810s purple dress looks so much like Eliza in Hamilton 😱😱
Amazing person, great channel and perfect figure.
Ok damn I really have to start making videos with my collection lol. Also why is your aesthetic so Saturn-aligned
The 1810s dress is very cute i want to wear something like that to senior prom
The hijabi outfit was my favorite 😊
Wow sh3 looks cute with that hijab scarf 😂❤
Excellent job!!
Regency gave me hyacinth bridgerton vibes

the 1810s look is so cutee
I really like the middle ages and Renaissance outfits. Simple and elegant.
Renaissance was far from simple
@@calcifiedweatherfrog4945 Fussy in it's details, but simple in it's design, I think. Let me watch it one more time...

Historically accurate houppelandes are HEAVY. When my friends got married in them, his was 7 yards of fabric, hers was 15 yards.
my goofy theatre kid self only knows 1700’s and 1800’s bc of hamilton

The 1810s dress is lowkey giving Bridgerton
Bridgerton is set in the 1810’s.
All I can think is that she can time travel to any time and no one would notice
Regency era is my fav!
As a man I would wear a torn up white shirt and brown shorts for like... 2500 years
ooouughhh i need the 1810’s one
Please do more regency/Bridgerton styles!!
Cuuuuute! All of them!
Thanks!!
All of them are beautiful but the rennaissance dress is so special. Why can't we have fashion like that nowadays?
Because it's as uncomfortable as fuck to wear all the time-
@@Frog_SuiT the renaissance one seems pretty comfy 🤔 i don't think it has a corset
Can you do an outfit for children mainly in 1870? Love your videos by the way!!❤❤❤
