Absolutely agree w the unltraview. I also ordered the cbe micro v3, used it for a few weeks and sold it to a fiend. I have big hands and had a hard time dialing the bow. I made the switch to the hha tetra 3 and I absolutely love it. Only way it can get better is if it had stacked pins. If you’ve never played w a hha you really should.
I would highly recommend getting a dark owl scope. It will work on the uv slider. I run it on a lanslyde but am considering getting a uv for the ergonomics.
I 100% agree. So much to like but with the light I just can’t see the pins with my aging eyes. I have an HHA on my backup bow and just don’t have those issues.
I got rid of mine for the same reason and went with the HHA Tetra Max Ryz 2 pin. The ergonomics are very good, and being able to change the sight tape wheels for different arrows is nice also.
Great video. I swapped out to the two pin virtical and removed third pin marker on sight tape. The new pin cartridge it comes with sucked. Used it this year and it worked amazing with the two pin so much brighter. The adjustability was easy and will last a long time. I have yet to use the light since the swap. I use glow in the dark paint to cover tape and it dramatically improved the low light sight adjustment. Not perfect but it works a heck of a lot better. I also have my trek set up with a two pin UV and it shoots lights out as well, but just not as easy for quick micro adjustments like the UV slider. Good thing is the innovation is kicking up quality set ups for us archery enthusiasts. Bad news is it’s $$$$. I wouldn’t give upon the UV slider just take some time and set it up for you. (Sucks that the pins it comes with are trash for the price) Good luck!
I've been bow hunting for 19 years. I spent the first 12 years going from one sight to the other trying to find the one. The HHA King Pin was the last sight I ever bought and that was 7 years ago and still using it to this day with zero plans to give it up. If you want to see what real quality looks & feels like hold an HHA Optimzer Lite King Pin in one hand and that UV Slider in the other. Not even close.
@@farhanlabib9228 I would say the HHA Kingpin is great for indoor or outdoor. You can control the pin brightness by simply adjusting the scope housing to how much fiber optic is exposed. It gathers light extremely well in low light and you can tone it down when in brighter conditions. I can't say enough about how solid the construction is. And the Kingpin comes with a built in magnifier over the yardage wheel.
The slider has a feature where you can lock down your windage with an allen key after you have it perfectly dialed. Its a small set screw somewer on top of the dowl rod that connects your scope to the main body of the sight
I also have a dual trac, which I also love, but having that third pin is nice. I will say for the cost of the micro 3V I do believe it is hard to beat and for me has now put down an antelope buck (65yds) and a bull (10yds). I do have the same quarrels with it as you, but the pros seem to outweigh the cons for hunting purposes.
I just sold my UV Slider for the same reason. I will say that the vertical 3 and 2 pin cartridges from UV are much brighter than the 4 pin that comes with it. I switched to the Spot Hogg Boonie Triple Stack. I believe the Boonie is the best hunting sight on the market and I've tried them all.
I totally agree... The pins are ridiculous. Thought it was going to be my last one as well. I hung it up, I made the switch to the new CBE, half the cost and I can see what I'm aiming at.
Hey great video. If you like the 3 pin vertical, check out the Spot Hogg triple stack. While not as ergonomic as the UV, it is still fairly user friendly. Large wheel to dial the range. A little on the heavy side, but it’s very durable. I am running the spot Hogg fast Eddie xl 2 pin, (want to get my hands on a boonie). Pins are very bright, hardly ever use a light. I cut a piece of PVC pipe to snugly fit over the pin housing to dull down the pins.
I have the FE XL Triple Stack and Boonie Triple Stack. The Boonie is a definite upgrade and noticeably lighter. Boonie is the best hunting sight I've used and I've tried them all.
Thanks for sharing this video. I had the original UV Hinge. It totally failed on me coming to full draw. Something broke in the hook/moon area and the string released and parts flew everywhere and damaged my riser. I have shot a hinge for years, so not likely I failed on my end. I tossed it all in the garbage, didn't even want to go through the warranty process and get a new one and sell it to another person - I don't like to sell stuff I won't use to others. Every large market has room for all price points, many that are into archery or getting into archery have a ton of disposable income and will continue to buy these ultra high end products. I think the owners of UV are 1) either setting up to be purchased by Mathews or 2) are the exit plan for the Mathews owner (sole proprietor) and they will be buying Mathews at some point.
I found the same thing with the UV Slider - loved so much about it, but the pins are just too dark without a light. I had purchased the same CBE when it first came out, and also went back to that when I took the UV Slider off and put the CBE back on. I really like the CBE and feel very confident with it. There are small things, but overall a very good sight. Thanks for the video.
I love the CBE Micro Pro 3V. What I wish it had is an indicator for the 2nd pin and that the 2nd pin was micro-adjust. The overall indicator pins are frustrating - too much play! But, overall it's light, easy to adjust, etc. I'm a western hunter, elk, mules, etc. Overall, the sight is great .... I hope the CBE will make some adjustments to the mentioned items and it would be the best sight on the market!
I was an Ultra View fan boy until two 400$ hinges failed with sloppy moon sear's. My thumb button felt rough and chopper pressing the button. I stopped there. Now I shoot nothing but Axcel and Truball. Lots of money wasted figuring that out. But I will say, Ultra View did send me 2 new Thumb Buttons for the hinge issues. So good on them. Sold both of them.

How did you do this? I have the same issue and would really like to put an Axcel Accustat II scope on the UV, but when I called Axcel to see if there was a different barrel I could swap out or an adapter I could use, they told me it wasn't compatible.
It’s a fantastic sight for 3D outdoor shoots. It is far from a hunting sight. The sight tapes are absolutely tiny. The scope housing blocks any ambient light from the inside sight tape, especially if you are in a pop up blind. The fiber optics are absolutely horrible even in broad daylight. For those reasons, I’ve gone back to spot hogg with their latest sight. I’m extremely happy I did as I just got back from a mule deer hunt where I was able to put a heart shot on a great buck at 65 yards. Couldn’t be happier with the new Spot Hogg.
Does the spot hog boonie come in a 3 pin vertical, with micro drive adjustable pins? So you arent setup for whatever your speed and setup allows as far as setting up the pins to what yardage you want. I like the CBE has metal tapes and very good price point but seems to have some issue and little bit cheaply made
Lol I was just going to comment that even target guys hate the scopes cause there not bright enough. The only place I think this scope works good is indoor if you like a pin/drilled lens.
I been wanting to buy the v3 since it dropped but heard people say if you lock down one of the knobs too tight for vertical or horizontal it actually moves point of impact if its too tight…hoping they fixed that or it is no longer the case because for what you get its a very competitively priced sight
Want a good easy to use horizontal 3 pin- find a CBE TL 3 pin slider. I’ve had one for several years on my hunter setup. Removable rheostat light and is bright enough in a blind. Check in used sight sales as they stopped making them.
I'm running the same cbe that you have now and I have the same gripes about it that you do lol. Ergonomics aren't the best and the pins are not as bright as HHA but I like what it has to offer. test the evolution hyde broadhead or the evolution whitetail head against the beast.
Kinda funny I’ve had the exact opposite experience with both of those sights. I have a uv3xl scope on my fast Eddie I’m using and I’ve shot down to end of legal light just fine without having to turn the light on. But the CBE in broad daylight was harder than crap to see the pins, could basically just see the post
Why i don't like about the UV is that you have to buy the 3 pin horizontal first and then you can buy the vertical 2 pin l. I like vertical not horizontal
Well I’ve never used one of those sliders but just looking at your video those pins are waaay too small for hunting. I’ve seen lots of those sights online and can’t you change the pins?
For the money it seems that lackluster sight pins is ridiculous. The very reason you have a sight! Like everything else the packaging is a wow factor. Ultra view in my opinion is overrated and way overpriced. As my mom used to say, “To each it’s own”
Funny because I hate the pins and contacted uv and asked them why I had to upgrade my fibers in my cartridges to nanoptics fibers that were substantially brighter, they claimed that those are the fibers they use in their cartridges. I call bullshit. I can’t stand ultra view as a company at all. Their warranty is bullshit as well.
Me too! Total garbage! Day 2 of elk hunt and the scope assembly would free fall from 20 to 55 yards once the brake was released. Went to my backup HHA that I NEVER should have gone away from and killed a great 7x6 3 days later. Extremely disappointed in the build quality!
Fix it, super easy. I bought 40" pieces of nano, took tube out and plastic out where tube was, leaving the holes the tube went through. Putting new pin wire in is super simple, I ran it the same with tube from pin mount to outside then no tube. Got 3 wraps on each then trimmed the nano on an angle. It's tight, no extra noise and I do not need to turn my light on at all to target practice. It made a great bow sight even better.
It's funny that you went to that cbe sight, i have one and the pins are really dim to me. I was shooting on a sunny day and the top limb would shade the sight and i couldn't see the pins. Hunting in timber would never be able to see them. The light helped a little but can't use that here for hunting. I made things s little better by removing that slider thing and i took the fibers out of the tube they are in and made a bigger coil with them and removed that black tape stuff that was covering half the fibers. They should wrap the fibers around the front of sight. Otherwise i think that is a nice sight.
I had the same problem with the pins being to dim without the light and I shouldn’t need the light on when shooting in the middle of the day. I went back to my beloved HHA
You might be able to put a different scope on the slider. I think spot hogg can and I think you can mount the cbe with a attachment bracket not 100% tho

im really not sure why these caught on really. i mean honestly my bow will hit within an inch from like 15 to 40 yards. nott really sure why anyone would need more than a 3 pin fixed lol
People want a 3 pin sight for if you’re hunting and range an animal. You can go to use your middle pin to aim with and let’s say the deer/elk or whatever walks further back instead of letting down and readjusting you can use the bottom pin to aim with or if they walk closer you can use your top pin
