I like how they give Skinner a specific design for when he’s stressed (five o clock shadow, suit is off, tie undone). They also used it in the episode when he got fired.
Idk about that. Unless they're on a Greyhound I don't think the bus is equipped with a toilet. And I've never ridden a Greyhound but I'm pretty sure that the driver stepping on the clutch causes the toilet to flush. I could be wrong though.

The song for this was taken from a seventeenth century Viennese tune called O du lieber Augustin. Augustin was a bagpipist during the Black Plague years who was so drunk one night that he passed out in the street and was mistaken for dead. He was chucked into a pit heaped with bodies outside the city limits. However, he was so saturated with alcohol, the booze oozing from his pores, that the disease-carrying fleas left him alone. Trapped under the corpses dumped on top of him, sure he was going to die, he played his bagpipes for the last time, The people heard him and rescued him! The melody has been used for a few different things, but it is now probably best known as Hail to the Bus Driver. History is such a hoot!

Respect and admiration for Otto. Skinner was relieved that he didn't have to drive the bus anymore because now he understands that it isn't as easy of a job as he once suspected.
It's really telling how Seymour starts off singing the song with the kids despite it being a bit insulting, but then after a while of not being let in, he *rages* at a line that isn't even that bad.
my hs volleyball team always sang a song on the way home from an away game, that went “thank you mr bus driver, bus driver, bus driver. thank you mr bus driver, thanks for the ride!” i wondered where it came from, and of course its a simpsons episode
