- Palace were forced to settle for a point against arch-rivals Brighton & Hove Albion, with Jordan Ayew’s first-half header cancelled out by Danny Welbeck’s for Brighton - a fifth successive 1-1 draw between the teams at Selhurst Park.

We seemed to lose our way in the second half. Our defence needs to be sharper, as we gave up some huge chances. But in the end it was a hard earned point. 😀🦅🦅🦅

I think out of all games this isn’t the one where we can complain about conceding in the final 10 minutes. Great goal to be honest could have hardly been prevented. The boys played well
We threw the game away. Negative tactics cost us. 1-0 up, in control and sat back second half against a Brighton side which were underwhelming to say the least. 1 home win all season, 1 win in 11. Chelsea next; when will it change?

@@trevorsaunders580 yes. I also watched the game. Palace were in control first half, Brighton didn’t threaten. Second half, palace sit back and let them have the ball. They struggle to create chances but took one. If you sit off teams like that, you’re always going to concede. Brighton were poor by all accounts. Palace threw away the game and gave them way too much respect.
@@MegaCod66 So Palace couldn't beat a poor Brighton team, but the stats read, that although in your opinion Brighton were poor, then Palace must have been terrible.
@@trevorsaunders580 yeah first half palace were comfortably on top, second half they sat back and let them play. Not sure why stats really matter when you can just watch the game like most normal people do.
Definitely time for a change of management at Palace, poor old Roy has lost his touch now, he brought Franca on at Man City and played well but last night left him on the bench, Eze and Olise must be regretting signing new deals, time to say goodbye Roy now.

Henderson didn't look flat-footed in the Welbeck header, yet, the direction the ball was going meant even a taller VanDerSar was never going to get there. It was just so high up, lol.

Haven't been to Croydon in 25 years. Has it changed much ? I hear there's a tram system.
First half was great. Players did well. Second half we played like pathetic scared chickens.
Sometimes you need to sit back on a lead and defend but that was utterly ludicrous. We were in our defensive third for 50mins.
Hederson should become 1st goal keeper palace played well 1st half but we need to get the ball in the area or we are never gonna score goals.
Terrible second half for us brighton goal was unstoppable the 18 year old should get more game time.

It was ONCE AGAIN a halfway decent effort. We sat in a deep block as expected, defended well (possession 36/64 -- classic Palace) up until the odds favored an unstoppable Wellbeck goal. Sure, there were some defensive gaffs, some really scary goalkeeping moments, but overall defensively pretty solid. But dammit, despite our best efforts WE COULD NOT FINISH. OMFG this is the story of this year. Some really amazing attacking awareness, great passing, great counter-attacking drive... but WE CAN'T FINISH ffs. Get that damned ball into the damned back of the damned net.
I think the main problem is sitting back after being comfortably 1-0 up. Negative tactics are costing us again.
If it wasn't for Henderson we might have lost that 3 or 4-1, I'd have taken a draw before KO the way we're playing this season 🔵🔴🦅
