Hey Miles. Love your work and this project is awesome. Made something similar with a secret drawer and released the video today. Have subscribed and will be checking out your other builds. Regards James One Handed Maker
This is incredible. So sorry that this hasn't blown up yet - it should have! Hopefully your modern maker challenge entry will bring you some more hits (I came here from the recommendation from the last podcast - congrats!)
Miles!!! This is amazing! What a great accomplishment for your first piece of large furniture! You have such an eye for beauty and design, I love watching you take an idea and develop it from sketches into a beautiful creation. Busy summer for you...remember to kick your feet up and enjoy a lemonade every now and then ;)
There's not much too it really, the TV just pushes it up and back. I added a little curved piece of metal on the back of the TV to make it slide smoother but that would really depend based on what TV you have!
Wery nice work Miles, I have grandson Miles I hope he be creative as you are he is still young 7 years old, do you want to let me know website wher I can buy this mecanizam to pick up and dawn tv ,thanks Brenda 👍👍👍👍
Your videos are great quality but above and beyond that, the projects you choose are really awesome! Keep up regular uploads likes these and I’d be surprised if you don’t hit 100k subs within a year
You're truly gifted. I really can't wait to see where your journey takes you. I can see pieces branded "Made by Miles" being top shelf products to get at somepoint. This Cabinet I'd get without hesitation.
ay man this is a really cool thing and i have an ideal if u wanna use so some ppl put things on the table so i would say that the upper wood of the table go up with the tv so if theres any thing on the table it goes up so u dont have to remove it to watch the tv
Hi Miles, can you say more about how to make the angled front blocks at 11:23? You mentioned you're cutting at a 25 degree angle. What are the dimensions of that board? How far away from the board are you setting the saw blade? I'm having difficulty getting two equal sides.
Hey James, it was really just trial and error for me to get the right sized blocks. In terms of the size that I ripped the initial wood to, I didn't use a specific measurement, but rather cut off all the side to get rid of the rounded corners and left the fence at the same position for all the cuts. I just rotated the piece 90 degrees and cut every side making sure to remove only enough material to get rid of the rounded edge. Once you do a few tests and get it the way you like it, I recommend just leaving the fence in the position and do all the rest of your cuts! Good luck ;)
Asking the real questions here. If anyone reading this comment is considering building a similar design (because this is gorgeous) please consider repositioning the soundbar to right below the TV as sound bars need all the help they can get to sound decent and that is the designed placement. Moving it out of an enclosure all together would generally also be a good change, but would probably spoil the design of this piece quite a bit.
You could slightly modify the project by putting a 4:3 screen and add a Raspberry pi 4 inside to make it a retro console. Some people would pay you an arm and a leg for one of those. ^__-
Another innovative project- I'm really enjoying your designs and builds. I hope that you keep on designing, making, building and sharing with us on RUclips!
Love it Miles! Thanks for making this! You have really been doing a lot of work with repetitive patterns in your projects and I can't wait to see how you continue to explore with more of them.
You keep taking it to a new level. Ann said as she watched, " Look he builds on the driveway just like you!" Yes honey, great minds think alike. But from you Miles I have learned about CA glue and yea I should have purchased some self centering drill bits when I first used one more than forty years ago. You have added a drone to your video production kit too, I think. Great video!
Thank you so much for your comment and for taking time to watching my video ;) These are all tricks I've been fortunate enough to learn from other people in this community and by watching other videos of people building things. Thank you!
Do you build and sell these? I was recently looking for a lift cabinet for a larger tv. Maybe 75-80 inch if possible. I lived watching you work on this! Great design!
So the piece is stinning. It has a very retro modern look to it like it would dit into a depiction of the future made in 1948 and would certainly integrate well into certain artistic living rooms. However i don't think having a TV hidden in your TV CABINET counts as a secret feature.
How have I just found this channel? Nice work. A shoulder plane would clean those table saw rabbits lovely. But I have a problem with using any excuse to own another plane.
Dude you're a young legend! Question, does the opening just open by force of the tv rising and close by gravity? or is there an additional mechanism that closes it because it looks like a smooth soft closing
dude everything about the design and construction of this cabinet was just absolutely stunning. the gaps in the front facia did bother me but from far away with the contrast no one would notice and its absolutely beautiful
This is beautiful. I am just getting into woodworking and would love to be able to do something like this. Thanks for sharing your talent and being an inspiration.
Hey there I am new to your channel. Does this mean it is also possible to make this into a dining table? I have been wanted to combine my dining table and workstation into one single furniture.
I think this is my favorite piece of yours. Looks super elegant. Where do you buy your wood/plywood? I'm in the Portland area as well and am always looking for suppliers.
Thanks Andrew! Probably my favorite as well. I get walnut plywood at Mr. Plywood up in Montavilla. Also sometimes just getting the maple style 3/4" plywood at Lowe's. I was super surprised because a half inch sheet of hardwood plywood was cheaper than the construction grade at Lowe's. Lumber prices are just so weird haha
Pretty amazing. I’m just getting into woodcraft. I’m a Pipefitter welder. And I’m really enjoying it. I’m going to try this build on a hidden shelf. Thanks.
Awesome build Miles! How did you get the lid to fully open when you pop up the tv and did you put a mechanism in place for the the to close on its own when the TV is retracted?
You did a great job! I think it would look so much better if you put some shelves in the front cabinet to show some cool things for others to see! Don't get me wrong, the shape of the cabinet still looks great it just has the vibe of the 80's TV cabinet! I hope you don't take my words as a discouragement to do great things!
Thanks for watching everyone! If you want to support what I do, sharing this video is a great way to help out the channel.
Your support is very much appreciated!

Miles! Nice piece. Can you please share your blueprint with us?
I don’t get how this channel is not getting at least 1M views for each video. So satisfying!!!
This is literally one of the coolest things I’ve seen In a very long time! That secret button was an amazing idea too!
Thank you so much Corbett! I really appreciate it. I'm glad the hidden button ended up working ;)
This is incredible. So sorry that this hasn't blown up yet - it should have! Hopefully your modern maker challenge entry will bring you some more hits (I came here from the recommendation from the last podcast - congrats!)
Oh thank you so much! I am going to be posting my guitar build video soon as part of the challenge. Thanks for watching ;)
Love the retro 50's mid-century modern vibe you got going on. And so excellently done. Not everyone gets the details right like you have.👍👍
Thanks Tom! I'm really enjoying that era of design, and just experimenting with different ideas in that style.
so true creative and brilliant
Miles!!! This is amazing! What a great accomplishment for your first piece of large furniture! You have such an eye for beauty and design, I love watching you take an idea and develop it from sketches into a beautiful creation. p.s. the video production, sound, editing and all were fabulous!
Thank you so much!
Miles, you are extraordinary at what you do. Congratulations. It is really a lot of craftsmanship and a lot of talent for such a work of art.
I don't see any mention of how the cover opens and closes so perfectly. Would love to know more about that.
There's not much too it really, the TV just pushes it up and back. I added a little curved piece of metal on the back of the TV to make it slide smoother but that would really depend based on what TV you have!
I was dying to see how you made the front of this cabinet - genius! Love the edge banding too. Beautiful piece!
Nice. Continuing to step up the quality and complexity of your work.
Thank you so much Scott! I definitely feel like I'm gaining new skills quickly with my last few projects. Thanks for watching.
My Anxiety level went high while TV was going down and Lid was closing, for a second I thought it's gonna hit the top of the TV 😂
Nice work. Only thing I would change would be to move the sound bar to the top.
Wery nice work Miles, I have grandson Miles I hope he be creative as you are he is still young 7 years old, do you want to let me know website wher I can buy this mecanizam to pick up and dawn tv ,thanks Brenda 👍👍👍👍
You are so crazy talented man. Not only with the woodworking but the videos you do... So slick.
Your videos are great quality but above and beyond that, the projects you choose are really awesome! Keep up regular uploads likes these and I’d be surprised if you don’t hit 100k subs within a year
Haha thank you so much! I have no plans of stopping making videos, it's really my favorite thing I do. Thank you for your long term support ;)

Way too fucking Underrated bro..
very Nice Miles! you've inspired a 42 year old male to build on of these for his bedroom

My guy I love it, you have inspired this old man. But why for the love of all things holy did you put the sound bar at the bottom?

Miles! I just came across your channel and DANG!!! you make some awesome content keep it up man!
You could slightly modify the project by putting a 4:3 screen and add a Raspberry pi 4 inside to make it a retro console. Some people would pay you an arm and a leg for one of those. ^__-
Haha that is a great idea, I actually think I have a Rasberry pi that I haven't dove into yet ;)
Another innovative project- I'm really enjoying your designs and builds. I hope that you keep on designing, making, building and sharing with us on RUclips!

You really have good feeling for woodworking. All your items are build very nice and precise.
I like that!
Absolutely incredible!! Super stoked to follow you along your journey! You've got a very bright future man!
Thank you so much Spenser! Looking forward to sharing my next builds ;)
How does the lid move out of the way? Is it part of the lift kit?
It is just pushed backwards when the tv hits it!
Awesome work man! Love the texture in the front and the weight of the case.
Thank you so much Nick! It means a lot coming from you. Also nice to know there a fellow maker in Milwaukie ;)
@@MakeWithMiles yeah that’s super cool. Come on by the shop sometime if you’re looking to kill a few minutes.

Haha thanks John! I've been trying to add a twist to my current woodworking projects so I'm glad that's what you think ;)
Beautiful work young man! Your efforts and craftsmanship have earned you another subscriber! Much success, love health and happiness to you!

Wow this was amazing. Outstanding work and attention to detail. I would love to make/have something like this 😍😩👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Dude I'd love to learn how to do this 💯💯👌🏽👌🏽 is awesome!! Good job and presentation 👏🏽
Incredible buddy. Nice job! You earned a new sub.
Do you build and sell these? I was recently looking for a lift cabinet for a larger tv. Maybe 75-80 inch if possible. I lived watching you work on this! Great design!
want one for my tv. Creative-genius ideal....I would buy you can earn $$ for your passion,,,,,talent is a honorable trait,,,,,,
Beautiful piece. Love seeing what
You create!
Thank you so much!
Yo dude...
That's easily a $1k furniture piece.
You should make these once a week and put it on Amazon, eBay or Etsy.
Absolutely incredible! I'm so glad I came across your channel! 10 Hun had me running! 🖤🤘
Amazing video, just wondering how did you ensure lid is opening seamlessly when TV goes our or in. Didnt show on the video. Thank you!
I would have put some white LEDs behind the TV in the box come on each and every single time the box opens, and turn off when the box is closed.
Excellent build, really inspiring. Gonna build something similar, just need to go and buy myself all the expensive tools. 😅
So the piece is stinning. It has a very retro modern look to it like it would dit into a depiction of the future made in 1948 and would certainly integrate well into certain artistic living rooms.

Super slick. I've been thinking about TV cabinets for a little while and really like your design.
How have I just found this channel? Nice work.
A shoulder plane would clean those table saw rabbits lovely. But I have a problem with using any excuse to own another plane.
Badass man. Youre building heirlooms while your peers are playing Fortnite. 🙂
if you have speakers and/or a subwoofer you should make coordinating housing units for them and complete the set...
Miles, can't wait for you to make enough to buy the house next door... for a new shop. It's gonna happen!!!
Man, that is seriously cool. Great detail. Kind of looks like an old school radio.
I would like to make a lift cabinet for my rv. The thing is, I’d like to have a fireplace in front. Do you think that’s doable?
Great job! Love the creativity! Looks stunning! A new subscriber here ❤
So cool! Can't wait to see what else you come up with in the future!
Thank you so much! Looking forward to my next projects ;)
New subscriber here man, love the channel dude! Excited to binge watch these. Love watching your ideas come to life in front of you!
What kind of Plywood is that ? I am wondering about the surface ...
What size TV did you use? I really love this build and I may try to replicate it. New subscriber.
Dude you're a young legend! Question, does the opening just open by force of the tv rising and close by gravity? or is there an additional mechanism that closes it because it looks like a smooth soft closing

Miles this is amazing! Do you build custom projects?
Commenting for the algorithm. Amazing work as always!
Another great video, the work ethic is unreal!
Much appreciated!
Amazing job. Is the lift quiet, or does it make a whine in activation?
im a new youtube creator but you young man have a talent keep up the work and i just subscribed
hi Miles, whats an incredible cabinet!!! is it possible for you to make me exactly the same and send it to me in france please??
Stunning. I'm also definitely stealing that pattern! thanks 🙂
What were the overall dimensions of your cabinet please?
This looks really good. I also really like the style of your videos. I can tell you put a lot into them.

Miles this is amazing! such a cool idea with the patterned front helping conceal the hidden switch!
Can you explain how the hinge and tv top cover goes with the tv lift?
Just head to 15:20 for the workings.....Your welcome
This kid is going places. You deserve my like and subscribe dude.
Beautiful cabinet did you have to do anything for the hinged lid to close upon lowering tv
Very cool!!! A great idea and a great performance, I really like it! 👏👍
Miles did you have to do anything for the hinged lid to close upon lowering the TV?
Awesome! How about side panels for some playstation :)
Hi Miles, I was wondering how the lid opens and closes with the TV being raised and lowered?
Hi can you make blueprints and sell them please or I can buy from you
Screws in the end grain of plywood makes me nervous
Great project but it needs a remote to lift tv because I’m lazy.
best to ditch the common fascination with TV being the shrine of everyonrs front room.
Very nice!! Hey...Do you think I can borrow your friend Alex's domino??😂
Loud music when you show it work, you didn't want people to know how noisy it is?
Felicitaciones. Realmente hermoso el mueble.
Great job Miles! Love the pattern. 💪🏼
Thanks a ton Drew! Keep on making ;)
I love this project wish you could make me one.
Pretty amazing. I’m just getting into woodcraft. I’m a Pipefitter welder. And I’m really enjoying it. I’m going to try this build on a hidden shelf. Thanks.
Gotta love the Mark Rober music, I love it!
So cool. I love how complex your builds look and then to see you break them down into much more manageable pieces. Very inspiring
This is cool but I think it needs another name. Theres no cabinets lol.
What brand of lift mechanism you use?
This is so cool Miles, I really like the outcome!
Thanks Jolien! Appreciate it ;)
Awesome build Miles! How did you get the lid to fully open when you pop up the tv and did you put a mechanism in place for the the to close on its own when the TV is retracted?
