I was a carpenter on construction sites for many years, all the other carpenters used to come to me to sharpen their chisels as none of them were any good at it. The way you incorporated that sponsorship was literally perfect... Doing a sketch while showing some progress of your work in the meanwhile as well as making comparisons to woodworking made it feel like it's an actual part of the project - very organic! :)
This is not what I expected at all. Great story telling. What impressed me the most was your ability to "recover" from the little bumps and blips along the way and end up with a very refined finished product. That's true MAKER spirit.
You are impressive! As an over 60 carpenter/ contracter I recently retired to my one man shop and am also doing audio furniture and speakers. You’re probably 40 years younger than me and I learned from you today. Both your design and craftsman ship are top-notch even without the best tools and shop set up. Cheers to you!

I'm new to this channel for about a week now and you're amazing. The wood working is beautiful and the videos are very clean and you can tell a lot of care went into both! Awesome Job keep it up!
I admire you building that masterpiece outdoors in harsh weather conditions, and never giving up, and sticking with it all the way through! Your video is se very inspiring to all!! That is more that a cabinet you made, it's a testament to your enduring enthusiasm to create a work of true art!
I love the entire piece, but I LOVE those doors sooooo much! I have been trying to learn how to build some things for my recording studio myself and it literally takes me 5X longer than I think it will to build one thing. You're not alone in underestimating the time it takes.
That is the dopest record cabinet I have ever seen. And this video, including all the bussing home on your weekends, is inspiring me to get to the hobbies ive always wanted to do but pushed off cause im "too busy". Keep it up mate! Subscribed
Fantastic job on the cabinet! To answer your question, I scrape clue with a cut straw while it is still wet. It pulls the glue away from the wood rather than spreading it around like wiping does.
As a 20 year old student who is in the process of getting her second woodworking diploma, i could only utter the words "Holy Shit i want that!". I'm a huge vinyl record fan and i love every bit of old school stuff.. Kudos man, keep it up.
Great build Miles! I'm the same way, I want to finish projects quickly and often found myself setting goals each day like "I just wanna finish flush trimming the legs" or "If I can just get it all glued and clamped I can call it a day" but I found that my stuff started to look a lot better and frankly, I felt a lot better, when I started just letting stuff take as long as it takes and not trying to get it all done on a short timeline, especially when there wasn't one.
This is the first video I've seen from you, thanks to the RUclips algorithm. Instantly subbed, amazing work and content. Also loved the Laura Kampf banner.
Excellent work Miles. I love the design and the execution of the work. I just turned 72 this past October, I closed my wood shop in 2001 after 28 years. I have had another career since and now I think it’s time to make saw dust once again just for fun. Thanks for the inspiration.
Not many people can achieve this kind of work with the limited space and tooling you have, it is really impressive. And glueing up outside on a tarp in the cold is a skill in itself. 💪🤙
This is a gangster piece of art. I was hooked the whole time for the little details in your video Honestly one of the best videos on you tube right now
I don’t even do woodworking, but this was so informative and entertaining that I watched the whole video! The artistry and teaching element come so naturally to you, that you somehow make such a complex project look simple. Now I feel like I could do this too! 😂
Dude. I feel all of the struggles moving in and out of the garage, dealing with the cold and rain under a pop up, moving the piece in the living room for the glue to dry, etc….I can’t imagine trying to film it all, too. Hats off to you.
Dude, I've watched you grow. Literally, figuratively & as a craftsman. It's weird but It's like watching a little brother grow & succeed. It feels strange but great being "proud" of what you are doing, how far you've come & how far you will go. Like I said, like watching a little brother grow right before you :) BTW, that parametric design is amazing AND no cnc needed 👌🏻! You're amazing & inspiring. Keep them videos coming my dude. Gotta say this was hands down one of the best youtube videos that i've ever watched. And just the joy, that i felt seeing that awesome cabinet get finished was like i would've done it myself. 5/5 overall with everything. God bless.
Miles. You remind me so much of my younger self. Trust me. All the “struggles” you are dealing with now, will make you infinitely more knowledgeable, given you keep on with this. We learn so much more in our failures and frustrations, in our deepest darkest hours, than we do when things go flawlessly. ( where we learn nothing!) keep on carrying sheets of ply solo, keep on working outside under a dripping wind blown tent, keep on pushing yourself. And most importantly, keep on failing sometimes, then soak up all that knowledge and trudge forward with newfound wisdom that can only be learned the hard way ! Keep up the great work and you will be in blissful awe years from now, when one day you wake up and your suddenly the “new “ Maloof! SJ
as an old man who has used lathes, scroll saws and other tools for a lot of small wood projects. Im super jealous of this, its so clean and the final project looks so good man. Be proud thats a piece youll keep your whole life. Good job

I struggle to watch full RUclips videos these days but I watched EVERY second of this at regular speed. Awesome job dude you're an inspiration and your work points to the fact that God is way creative and he gives that creativity to us. Thanks for using your wood working, film, and editing skills to bless us youtubers.
This is the first of I’m sure many builds I’ll see from you. You did an awesome job going through the build process and your editing skills really made the project flow and keep the viewer engaged. The real showcase here though is that INCREDIBLE stereo cabinet! Absolutely stunning. Subscribed.
A "record player" is a cheap, all-in-one unit that has a speaker and the cheapest-ever mechanism for playing a record. What you have is a "turntable", which audiophiles will reverently refer to as a 'table. Brilliant build. That's exactly what I want to build. Not sure I'd put the booshelf speakers inside the cabinet though. Try experimenting with them farther inside and closer to the front. Also, get yourself a discwasher setup.
Blocking the speakers with solid doors seems a little counter-intuitive. Was thinking maybe the contour panels would let you see into the cabinet therefore letting some sound out, but in the end it still does look beautiful.
You were put through the ringer on this one. I feel like it is under appreciated how much effort young people like you put in to living! Full time school, full time hobbies, sleep and eating makes for busy days. Beautiful production as always!

absolutely incredible! this piece of work in so beautiful! and can i just say your filming skills are quite nice too, i loved the end shots. i love your work!
Absolutely in spectacular! The design is fanominal. Execution came from your heart. Perseverance through weather and the unexpected speaks volumes. Some of the finest of woodworking shops could not execute what you did under a tent in the winter. The production editing and content kept me from scrolling. I really appreciate you sharing this experience. All the best.
I had no idea till the very end how amazing that contouring on the doors is. And also the holes in the doors for the speakers and the light turning on and off. Man you are an artist!!
Brilliant. This is what I like about weekend woodworkeres vs. pros, you don't try to make it look easy, your setup is far from fancy, but your result is amazing.
what an insanely beautiful build and with relatively normal and affordable power tools also. amazing story telling and gorgeous shots throughout also. inspiring to say the least!
Gotta be honest, a Festool track saw and Domino are both pretty price and not affordable to the normal wood worker. I'm assuming he's using his dad's tools which there's nothing wrong with, but most everything he's using is fairly high end.
great video! I can't imagine how good furniture you would make if you had a larger workshop and in a closed place without the inclement weather, and you still got the job done. You have my respect!

You chase after your projects like no one I've ever known before. What a beautiful record player cabinet! I love your masterly storytelling, humor, and, editing (terrific music selections). Keep on your path doing what you love. And don't forget to take a break, breathe, and stare up at the blue sky, at the twinkling stars.
unreal work ethic and attention to detail! respect the amount of time that went into making, recording, and editing it all! great vid
Thank you so much!
Well done man! Truly an amazing project on its own, even more insane when you think about the the bad weather, student stuff and traveling back and forth so much. You really don't need to feel like an imposter, you're a true woodworker. Cheers from South Africa, keep up the incredible work!
The way you incorporated that sponsorship was literally perfect... Doing a sketch while showing some progress of your work in the meanwhile as well as making comparisons to woodworking made it feel like it's an actual part of the project - very organic! :)
Yes, I usually skip that part - they should pay him more!
It’s a great way to keep people watching all the way through (so they don’t miss any part of the video!)
So brilliant
I noticed that too! The only other RUclipsr I've seen do this is Ten Hundred! I wonder if he learned it from him. 🤔
It's absolutely disgusting. RUclips has been garbage for years because of this sponsorship stuff.
Miles your design drawing alone shows such talent but the finished piece is mind blowingly amazing as such a timeless piece of furniture made so well. I love that such a beautiful stylish piece of furniture complements the record play as enhances is retro side in such a classy way - would love that in my home .
Your video edit is fab too - you really do rock !
What are you studying at college, Industrial Design? Your drawing skills are out of this world for that pre-vis of the record cabinet; love it!
I’m studying product design (basically the same as industrial) definitely is helping me hone my sketching and design skills! Thank you.
@@MakeWithMiles That's so rad! I'll be an industrial/product design student in Fall, and I'm so stoked. Cool to see you're studying it, too. Seems like a perfect match for everything you do - I envy your craftsmanship and design abilities!
Wow! So impressive. If this is what you do on your off time, I can't imagine what you would accomplish doing this full time! Bravo! And, love that your parents help you out to support your efforts. That's not to be taken for granted. You have a new subscriber 🙂
Man, I really felt the struggle in this video. Sometimes nothing goes your way and then you're feeling weight of a deadline aswell. Inspiring man.
Amazing craftsmanship! Keep it up!
I have been an Antique restore for over 30 years, you have just made an amazing piece of furniture great work.
It might have been your most difficult project yet but it is also the best IMO. It is very nice seeing you improve both in woodworking and video production. Keep at it.
You are an inspiration miles! Not many kids your age have their head on their shoulders like you, I know I sure wish I did at your age 🤣 cant wait to see what you are building in a few more years, no doubt will it be incredibly epic!
I've probably watched this video 3 or 4 times all the way through and I still love it and the beautiful piece you created. I just wanted to say a big thank you Miles! You're one of the creators on YT who has really inspired me to start sharing my woodworking journey on here. Keep doing what you're doing, you have more impact than you know 🙌
Incredible work, all those hours really paid off for this beautiful design. The aesthetics fit so well. Great work dude
Dude, I love your content, not only are they sweet-looking projects but the way you edit your videos is fun to watch. I hope school goes well for you.
Such a satisfying project. I love your attention to detail, and refusal to cut any corners! Phenomenal piece of craftsmanship 😍🔥
I don’t have an ounce of interest in woodworking… and yet I was so captivated that I stayed til the end. That is a beautiful piece my friend.
Literally never expressed an interest in cabinet making before but I sat through this entire video. The end result is amazing. Kudos dude.
This was more than just an entertaining build: it was a beautiful vision of perseverance and joy in the little things
Excellent work Miles. I love the design and the execution of the work. I just turned 72 this past October, I closed my wood shop in 2001 after 28 years. I have had another career since and now I think it’s time to make saw dust once again just for fun. Thanks for the inspiration.
This kid is crazy talented, I bet he will get super far in life.
I've never been more excited than when I see a new video from Miles. Love the creative story telling.
That means a lot! More to come 🙏
this video was so refreshing, a lot of things on youtube feel so plasticy when you watch them but there's something extremely real about this video
Easily my favourite building channel. You just have your personal jovial style without pretending to be anything else. I really like it.
That means a lot to me. Thank you.
Not many people can achieve this kind of work with the limited space and tooling you have, it is really impressive. And glueing up outside on a tarp in the cold is a skill in itself. 💪🤙
Incredibly skillful young man! It´s great to see young people doing stuff like this instead of sitting infront of a computer all day long! BRAVO!
This is a gangster piece of art. I was hooked the whole time for the little details in your video
Honestly one of the best videos on you tube right now
I don’t even do woodworking, but this was so informative and entertaining that I watched the whole video!
Like I said, like watching a little brother grow right before you :)
BTW, that parametric design is amazing AND no cnc needed 👌🏻!
You're amazing & inspiring. Keep them videos coming my dude.
Let's goooo!!
Honestly a work of art..timeless.
Dude once your videography skills go up over time you’re going to blow up if you keep making shit like that! Crazy cool 🖤🖤🤙🏼
SJ
Beautiful work. And that is an impressive selection of tools you got there. Not saying, it makes it easy but it sure helps.
as an old man who has used lathes, scroll saws and other tools for a lot of small wood projects. Im super jealous of this, its so clean and the final project looks so good man. Be proud thats a piece youll keep your whole life. Good job
this is so insanely beautiful !! the amount of skill and planning and attention to details is just astounding, you did such a great job. thank you for the inspiration, i'm not gonna builld anything like this soon but just your dedication is making me feel a spark to create :)
Subscribed.
This was so insanely beautiful and satisfying to watch. Well done Miles!!!
love it man. so well done. you can sincerely feel the passion you've put into this piece. cheers to happiness and continued success!
I appreciate that! I think we both can relate to trying to balance our projects with school. Glad to be able to call you a friend!
I just discovered your channel through this video. I am blown away 😍You should be so proud. I am very impressed by both your build skills and your fun editing style. You are a great story teller. I look forward to watching more. New sub 🙂
Wow! This piece is absolutely amazing. I truly enjoyed the entire video, showing the ups and downs of a project with the mood and motivation swings. It gives an extra personal character to an already exceptional build
absolutely incredible! this piece of work in so beautiful! and can i just say your filming skills are quite nice too, i loved the end shots. i love your work!
Miles! this one is just ✨sexy✨ I admire your hard work and all of your BEAUUUUTIFUL art pieces!! keep up great work (and good luck at college🙋♀️)
Thank you so much 😀 having fun at college!
Turned out so great!! It's beautiful!
the most down to earth and realistic vid about building a furniture i have ever seen.
quality !
That last shot with the exposed light moving across the front was my favorite. Great job man.
Rare to find guy as young as he is with this beautiful craftsmanship !! bro you made my day with all of it.
what an insanely beautiful build and with relatively normal and affordable power tools also. amazing story telling and gorgeous shots throughout also. inspiring to say the least!
Gotta be honest, a Festool track saw and Domino are both pretty price and not affordable to the normal wood worker. I'm assuming he's using his dad's tools which there's nothing wrong with, but most everything he's using is fairly high end.
I could only dream of doing this over my college breaks, living the dream mate!
So nice to see young creative people like you.
This was amazing on so many levels. Thanks for sharing and I wish you all the best!
It has so much personality. Very well done, Miles. 🙏
Amazing work Miles as a French Polisher myself time and patience is the key keep up the amazing work well done mate.
great video! I can't imagine how good furniture you would make if you had a larger workshop and in a closed place without the inclement weather, and you still got the job done. You have my respect!
