The family member didnt disclose details of the case but told us of how the case was going for those involved. The poor girl, she had a whole life ahead of her after escaping her country. RiP Aya

Precisely why I left the UK for the US in 2016. Obviously, there are areas here that are far far worse than the UK, but this country is so huge it's easy to be hundreds of miles from any of it. Where I live, I can leave my car running when we go into the store without fear of it being stolen. I also rarely ever lock my car or house doors. Despite its small size, our town has a fully manned police department. But, in case of any trouble, we do take full advantage of our 2nd Amendment 😅.

Where we are in central Virginia is rural and not that affluent. Everyone knows everyone, black or white, we all get along. I'm sure it will be just a matter of time before they dump a load of migrants here like they are doing in other parts of the US. That's when we'll sell up and move on.

Sad case and for me what makes it worse is how lenient the courts had been before, wasn't much of a deterrent. Three and a half years for a hit-and-run where a pedestrian was killed, then a slap on the wrist for assault with a weapon and false imprisonment. Maybe if he had been given longer sentences, he either wouldn't have been on the streets to commit further crimes, or he may have put more thought in to his actions that lead up to the death of that young lass.

Where I live, I can leave my car running when we go into the store without fear of it being stolen. I also rarely ever lock my car or house doors. Despite its small size, our town has a fully manned police department. But, in case of any trouble, we do take full advantage of our 2nd Amendment 😅.
