  • We are living in an age of anger: from American 'shooters' and ISIS to Trump, from a rise in vengeful nationalism across the world to racism and misogyny on social media. Renowned author and essayist Pankaj Mishra visits the RSA to discuss how and why we got to this point.

Even a 50 year old introductory text to political economy will indicate the diversity of values across different groups. There is nothing noteworthy about it, that elevates it as a conclusion to a talk; it is a premise. This talk and all I have read so far (and I have read a lot) are devoid of (intelligent, workable, non-coercive...) solutions to the clash of such values. Any suggestions welcome.

I suggest publicly funded integrative talk-therapy (i.e. transpersonal, humanistic, & psychodynamic) on offer for any humans reaching for such in their 20's, 30's, 40's & 50's😐.

@@marchagar465 Tnx, indeed publicly funded talk-therapy seems like a good starting point

I'm not going to generalise my positive experience of globalisation to everybody (30.07) but I will generalise my blissful ignorance at age 9 to everybody across time (33.06). Double standard consistency?

Interpreting 9/11 as a backlash to modernity is a pretty narrow(minded:-)

That's not what he said, he means it as modernity "exported" via U.S. and Western hegemony and imperialism on people from all over the world

hahaha ... anger rhymes so closely with twitter in the opening lines here ... hahaha ... after two minutes ... feel it is going to be garbage ... the word 'renowned' here sounds jarring ... hahaha ... i'm outta here ... hahaha
