It warms my heart to see three Black female doctors educating all women about understanding breast cancer diagnosis. It definitely can be overwhelming when you hear the word "CANCER". Each of you are Awesome!! Thanks for a very informative video and continue to help breast cancer patients along their journey 🥰😍

Thank you ladies for providing such valuable information. I started my radiation treatments yesterday, and Dr. Karen Winkfield I asked my radiation oncologist what we were going to do to protect my heart being that my treatments are on the left breast as you suggested in a different video and he looked a little caught off guard by the question. I also asked if I should do deep breathing and he told me to just breath normal. I decided to do the inspirational deep breathing. However, after my treatment he did show me my scan of the breast and how only a very small portion of my heart would be exposed to the radiation. Thank you for all you do for breast cancer patients, especially for Black women.🥰 I'm glad I discovered this channel before I had my breast conserving surgery and began my radiation treatments.

I’m 5 radiation treatments in and have had increasing heat and now pain since the first treatment. I am ready to quit. Everyone is very kind but says they’ve never heard of this other than a very slight increase in temperature right after treatment. It actually is worse 8 hours after treatment and is intense. Superficial temp(because I thought I was going crazy) was over 10 -15 degrees higher. When it started hurting , they mentioned possible infection, but therapist literally recoiled when they touched my breast. They spent xtra time and I think some parameters were adjusted, but now the heat and pain are in my ribs below my breast! I know can happens after all radiation is done. I have had a problem with large hematoma and bruising, so breast is changing and it did delay my starting.
I’m tired of feeling crazy. I’m tired of hurting this much, knowing it will be worse in 5 weeks(yes I am making it worse with catastrophic thinking). I usually am not a nut, but I feel like I ‘shouldn’t’ be having these symptoms…But I am.

What should I know about expanders while undergoing radiation therapy? Will they be filled during or after? I am 69 yrs old and have a 3cm ILC ER+ HER2- and a 9cm LC in Situ. Biopsy shows no lymph node involvement. Plan is for a mastectomy. I also need info on abdominal tissue transfer instead of silicone implants. Does a tissue transfer suffer necrosis during radiation or is it done after radiation therapy?

I had the biopsy test done on my breast and under my arm. They found that the cancer was in my nymph under the right arm and breast and was told that I has in stage 3. The Pet scan did not show any cancer cell reach any part of my body. The Dr. had recommend I should receive 20 weeks of chemo and 8 week of radiation. I feel that's excessive can I suggest less chemo? Am worry that it will damage my heart and liver at end. I also read that you can also get leukemia after receiving chemo within 5-8 years. What do recommend if you can?

I also had a similar diagnosis, I had a 2nd recommendation by a radiation oncologist and he stated I didnt need radiation based on my stats (tumor size, age, receptors) seek a 2nd opinion! He wants to reserve radiation just in case there is a recurrence. His ultimate goal was to avoid over treatment.
