I, being old also, love these cars. I especially like the sound of the black 61 ripping through the gears. You know what they say about real race cars and three pedals. Thanks for sharing!
I would much, much rather have any one of these cars than a modern bracket racer. An early '60's super stock that can do nine or ten second passes would be quite welcome in my garage.
Love max wedge cars the only body style of mopar I never owened I tryed but could never find the owners ther was two 64 polara S I tryed to find the owner wanted one so bad but we can’t always get what we want good tribute to your dad
I literally hyperventilate at racetracks like this. When I'm on the same road and I can hear the cars in the distance, it makes my heart race. I get lightheaded when I actually pull onto the parking grounds, and my eyes leak uncontrollably as I approach the track. I can't even talk at first. I look like a total pussy. Like some emotional wreck that just heard the best news of his life and is crying with joy. Something about it. I can't even explain it. It's like coming home.
Thers only one car and that is a max wedge my favorite car of all time dodge or Plymouth they never made a better looking car the 63 to 65 are beatiful
I owned but did not race a 66 Dodge Dart with 273 V8 4BL 391 posi I think it was rated 235 HP. I’ve always wondered what a 1/4 time would have been for it? What do you think?
+lw216316 I had a 1966 Ply. Vall. 273 2 bll. a 450 lift cam 500 cfm. 2 Bll. 4:30 gears 26 x 9 MH slicks JR headers and ran 14.6 all day . But stock it ran 16's .
lw216316....I had the same set up in my 66 Sport Fury...my 273 had an intake that was as wide as a Hemi's intake, it was the biggest I've ever seen on a small block....lots of torque though....
JrGoonior He said these cars have bigger engines than originally, and I don't think they require narrow slicks here anyway. That white Pontiac looked fine with wide slicks!
I0 .2at a 131 for the barracuda to a 10.5 at 123 so you sir are blind it’s the angle you see it at the end wen the barracuda let off the ford had to make it look good he needed that extra space to make his self look fast so you are wrong barracuda took him and I have seen other mopars beat all the thunderbolts mopars rule these drags usualy a max wedge will beat that thunderbolt
Ricky Edwards good call I went back and looked at it 5 times to se the number the barracuda won it looks like he’s ahead the thunderbolt because the angle also the barracuda let off wen he had it right at the line as the thunderbolt stayed in it after the line he looked like he was ahead but I got the times below
LiberalsAreWorthless that never ate no hemi for lunch and I’ve not seen it in any of these drags a max wedge will eat it for lunch to so you better go back and look at the times on the boards and it’s sure not the way you call it lol
What is the name, and website, of the series? I compete in the 422 Allstars N/SS series (422allstars.com). It would be great to get a race between the two. We race at tracks in the North East. Maybe a track in Ohio would be a good place to have it. Just a thought.
The Fords are whooping up on the Mopars. Some things remain the same for over 50 years! No wonder there weren't many Fords, it wouldn't have been fair for the competition! Lol Seriously though, nice cars all.
Use to race a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury 383CID. MID 14s. Loved every day at the track.
Awesome that cool what you did with the ashes he can watch every mopar go down the track Rest In Peace

I have to say my favorite was the thunderbolt even though I really liked the Mopar's at that time also.

195
AMERICAN IRON ripping up the 1/4 mile, the sounds the smells, the excitement, every time I go to the drags I'm 16 again, yep
Love max wedge cars the only body style of mopar I never owened I tryed but could never find the owners ther was two 64 polara S I tryed to find the owner wanted one so bad but we can’t always get what we want good tribute to your dad
You bet Broadway is smiling.

hot cam and axle and slicks
but kept the 2bL ?
+lw216316 SS/QA is a class for 2bl. I ran faster than some with a 4bl.

Those are some awfully big wheel tubs to be considered something nostalgic.
If they "really" wanted to go nostalgic, they would be running the original style skinny street slicks they ran at the time.;)
JrGoonior

If they wanted nostalgia there wouldn't be a "two step" at 2:39 either.
That Ford Thunderbolt @3:00 smoked that Barracuda somethin fierce....gotta love them 427 Sideoilers eatin Hemi's for lunch....lol
Bullshit
LiberalsAreWorthless it’s 10.2 for the barracuda to a 10 .5 so I don’t think the thunderbolt smoked the barracuda maybe the angle

HighlanderNorth1....that's a beautiful sight, isn't it? Watchin Fords chew up Hemi's is awesome....lol
The 64 Fairlane was the only one I saw...Or was one a Comet ?
if ronnie sox was behind the wheel of his car all them fords would be going home
@@coyoteduster8919 I saw just 1 Ford, a Fairlane. There were 2 Pontiacs, and A LOT of Plymouth/Dodge cars!
Nostalgia super cheats
2 minutes of drivel..then racing.
Mopars are still damned ugly.
You better watch it, 2/3 of the racers at G.L.D. drive mopar including myself
