Visiting Pamukkale, one of Turkey's most popular and photographed tourist attractions! We set off to find out whether it is actually worth you visiting in 2021, if you are coming to Turkey.
There are two parts to the Pamukkale complex, the thermal pools (that you have seen all over Instagram) and the ancient city of Hierapolis. The entire place is actually a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

I went there over 20 years ago and it was like the Instagram photos . The years as taken its toll. It was amazing and everywhere was full of hot water. It looks not as nice now . Thank you for the video it was lovely to see it again
Oh wow ! Just gorgeous

Yeah 😊 like a conveyor belt system here 😀
06:15 i freaking loved the transformation holyshit that was creative!
Thank you sooo much 🤗❤️
Really appreciate it!
Wowwww that's reallyyy amazing place and must must visit place in Turkey 😍😍
For sure, definitely worth all the hype 😊❤️
I was there 32 years ago and it was breathtakingly beautiful. But there was a hotel on top of it which used up all the water when more and more tourists stayed there so lots of the pools turned brown because they need the constant water flow. I went there again in 2018 and it was still fascinating, but not nearly as beautiful.
Pamukalle
Looks stunning nice city
It is so beautiful, definitely worth a visit ☺️
Thank you for visiting my country If you come to Antalya I'd recommend you to visit Altınbeşik mağarası enjoy the ride 😅
Thank you very much Dermin, really appreciate it! 😀
Very informative Video, Would like to know did u guys do both the sights on 1 day? what time did u reach the first sight? Also is the ticket valid just for a day? or 2?
Would appreciate this info.
hello guys, just wanted to say that I like your videos and enjoy watching it. I can have a couple of offers to you if you go back to Istanbul. You should try to see bebek, istinye and balat. You should try rakı with mediterranean mezes. Some parts of the city are popular however there is much more beautiful places that tourist dont know actually. Kadıköy is also a sort of hipster area. Try to visit them if you have time :)
Thank you so much for all the advice Sule! 😊 Really appreciate it, we will be sure to visit when we are back in Istanbul! 🙃💓
@@MattandJulia we can even meet if you guys would like to contact me. Here is my gmail address: sulesarpkaya06@gmail.com just in case, keep in mind if you need something :)

Haha, that's alright then 😉 thanks guys, really glad your enjoying our stuff! ❤️
Hello can you use a Drone in Turkey ? Great video. I will be there next month.
Thanks for the video. I am planning to visit there next month .. Do they have buggy or shuttle service there because there are elder people travelling with me.
6:36 Perfect pronounciation ! 😂
7:09 Is Pamukkale not the most alien-looking landscape you’ve ever seen? ahh instagram 🤦♂️😂
8:31 White carbonate thermal pools definitely worth, i mean everything is worth because Turkey holidays are cheaper than ever at the moment
9:16 Some HES code problems
In overall, that's a good video, i like it, the drone shots were my favorite in the video ☺
Thank you so much Burak! Really appreciate it! ☺️🙌🏼
There is no hes code need anymore
I am enjoying your travels through Turkey 🇹🇷. I am visiting Istanbul in October and wondered about bringing my drone as I have read a couple of posts saying not to bring them to Turkey. What model drone do you have and have you had any trouble with authorities when coming into the country/flying it? Keep up the great work 😘
Hi mate 😊
Sooo basically, we had no problem at all with customs or anything. But, when we were in Istanbul we were told "do not fly it anywhere in the city", so we didn't, I know for sure others have but we didn't feel comfortable going against official advice. On that note, actually watched another guys vlog from Istanbul that had his drone seized by the military and nearly confiscated. We have more or less stuck to a rule of no flying in the big cities but letting it loose when out in nature.
Always check the local restrictions before you fly it (we use an app called Airmap.io, as well as, DJI's own). If you are anywhere near a military installations or something like a sports stadium you won't be able to fly it.
Hope this helps, anything else hmu 🙏😊
@@MattandJulia "do not fly it anywhere in the city" is a sentence only a stupid man says. and im Turkish. Dont worry with drones.
Nice video
Thank you Skopu ☺️ really appreciate it! ☺️
Did they usher you out at 5pm or after 5pm they just don't let anyone in? Wondering for my trip if I could watch the sunset from the slat flats. Thanks so much and love your videos, very helpful!!
That's the last time they let anyone in so you could stay there beyond sunset if you wanted 😊 Thank you so much ❤️
You were simply at the wrong time of the year there. Otherwise it wouldn’t be so cold for your feet and you could even swim in an ancient swimming pool full with artifacts where Cleopatra supposedly used to swim, as well.
Yeah, we need to return in August to compare 😊
Which month did u guys visit? Is June a good month?
Lots of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 ❤
Thanks Majid, and to you! ❤
Hey - what’s the thing you said we need to have downloaded? Thanks
9:33 hahahaha what was that ? 😂
🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
I’m in Istanbul and wanna visit this place. After doing some research, I decided to fly to Denizli. I need to know how far is Pamukkale Cotton castle from Denezil? Thank you
Thank you for thé information! 🎉🎉 you are thé best! I have a question, how did you return to Denizli? With thé same bus?
Yes the same bus back, from Pamukkale village 🙂
i dont know how they travel on pandemi i am from denizli turkey but i live in australia normally every 5 minutes they have minibuses run from denizli to pamukkale n from there to back to denizli n travelling on minibuses so cheap i dont know now in 2018 it was less then a dollar minibus fare by the way pamukkale is 20 klm away from denizli
Super !!!👍👍👍😅😅😅😁😁😁🤣🤣🤣
Thanks!
Havent you seven Roman bath in Pamukkale ?(Thermal hot mineral water pool with old roman colums)
Unfortunately it was closed while we there 👎
Anaa benim memleketim Denizli 😂 haberim olsa gezdirirdim 😄
Which month did you visit Pamukalle
What kind of Drone are you flying over there. Did you need license or any kind of permission? IF you do how do you get it? We are going Turkey in June and I bought DJI mini2.
The Mavic Mini 2 will be absolutely fine in Turkey, because it is less than 500g, no license needed. Just check the DJI Fly App before you fly to check if it is a safe area :)
Hello matt and julia, i have a query on the ticket to get into Cotton castle and Hierpolis. Is it multiple entry or each time i try to enter inside, i have to pay 80 lira ?
Hey Parthib! 👋🏻 so the ticket gives you access to both the Cotton Castle and Hierapolis. But for example if you were to leave the complex and come back the next day you would need to buy another ticket. Hope this helps! ☺️
@@MattandJulia thank you for rapid response..what if I leave the complex at morning and again re-enter after lunch ? On same day 😊
I am not sure unfortunately, I would think you would have to buy another ticket but can't tell you for sure 😊
Dora ... Dora ... the salt pool explorer. Swiper don't swipe me...
the water is hot but you go to their in winter so the water is cold
GUYS TRY TO GO GELIBOLU CANAKKALE
Thank you Tilki Altili, we hope to, it's all depending on time and money 😊
@@MattandJulia I RESPECT THAT
Is it worth visiting? Its in Unesco World Heritage list. Ive visited there twice.
It is an incredible place! 😃
Did you guys use a drone for the footage?
Hi mate, yes we did indeed
@@MattandJulia no problems with using the drone? I read about people having some issues using drones, and I myself am going to turkey in a month and was wondering what the situation was. May I ask what drone you guys use?
We didn't use it at all in Istanbul or Izmir, the only city we flew it in is Antalya. Out in the countryside it is no problem at all. The main thing to bear in mind is are you near sensitive infrastructure such as military compounds or sports stadiums. If you are then don't fly. Otherwise it is reasonably okay. We always check the recommendations on the DJI Fly App and an app called Airmap.io (both really good!). We have a Mavic Air 2. Hope this helps! :)
@@MattandJulia thank you so much for the detailed response! Well wishes on your travels
I think Europeans love this place so much, because they have never seen anything like it before. But as an American, I wasn't too impressed by it, as we have more spectacular travertine terraces. The ruins are definitely the most impressive attraction there, and the Cleopatra Pool, with its sunken columns, is also something unique. So it's definitely still worth visiting, because it really has something for everyone.
Maybe from Izmir it's difficult to get to, but it's pretty easy from Antalya, as there is an express bus that will get you there in 3 hours. Only downside it, the schedule sucks, so you don't have a whole lot of time, so you really need to stay the night if you wanna explore everything properly.

how they aloud u to travel in pandemic restrictions ????
If by 'they' you are talking about us, in the third person, easy, take a test and go, the rules have been the same for Turkey for at least 9 months 👍
@@MattandJulia i live in Australia there were restrictions to travel all over the world not just in Turkey if Turkish people cant travel whiten in Turkey how can the tourists can?
Turkish people could travel within Turkey all they needed was something called a HES code. Also, we didn’t make up the rules 😅
Can we take a bath there?
Yeah 😊
GALLIPOLI
GALLIPOLU means nothing in Turkish!!! Gallipoli is the Italian form of the Greek name "Καλλίπολις"(Kalipolis) meaning "Beautiful City", the original name of the modern town of Gelibolu. In antiquity, the peninsula was known as the (Greek: Θρακικὴ Χερσόνησος, ; (WIKIPEDIA) GREEK LAND!!!
@@jeandalmatos610 i dont know about that mate iam turkish not greek so for as gelibolu canakkale
What is Haskell?
No idea, not sure we ever said Haskell 😅
@@MattandJulia you were being asked for something frequently: Passport ?
No I was disappointed
Ah sorry to hear that Lavander!
While they are wearing a mask around nobody around them they lost me. Good luck
