Of course, a MiG-23 is a third generation jet, MiG-29 and Tomcat, are forth gen.

Do this in DCS and get a nice thump out of an engine flaming out,, followed by warning beeps because of inducing a compressor stall in one of the engines. At least with the F-14A that is.
The F-14 can also do a Kvochurs bell, just pull back on the stick for about a half a second and then rudder kick. Its honestly more useful than a cobra.

The B model has significantly more thrust and such has better power to weight ratio. The plane actually has a greater than 1 thrust to weight when clean loaded and low-ish fuel state (50 percent or less) which is pretty nuts considering the F14 is the heaviest naval fighter the US navy has ever flown. The F4 may have shown that with enough thrust, even a brick can fly, but the F14B shows that with enough thrust, you can make a brick break Mach 1 straight up.

The extra power would be modeled even if compressor stalls aren't. That *would* be a significant difference in game.

The plane still maneuvered the same just with a 1 second cut off 360 full turn time. The issue with the tomcats was not the engines it was the clunky large airframe that bled speed like an early hurricane. Without the stalling there will be basically no difference between the models. The only way you'll see it is if you're not loaded in which case whats the point in flying it in the first place.

This was possible in the Tomcat due to the lack of a Flight computer, so if u pulled too hard it would enter a stall. But not recover
