    Have you sailed on MSC Seascape? What are your thoughts?

      I've sailed on Divina 2016+2017 , Seashore 2022 and Seascape 2023 each time gets worse than the last. I consider MSC the "You get what you get and you don't get upset" cruise line

      I have cruised on it twice in the last year and had no complaints. The food and the service were good. The ship is beautiful, and unless you are expecting to be treated like royalty, it is great. I can't understand negative reviews because we have a great time and my 12 year old grandson was happy. Takes alot to please a 12 year old. I think people must be expecting the staff to kiss their rumps and that's not even realistic.

      Went on the seascape in July . It was overall a great cruise. Did the 7 day Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Bahamas.., had the balcony room me and my wife and my eight-year-old daughter. Also 32 others of my aunts uncles and cousins are on the cruise trip also.! The ship was clean nice size ship plenty of things to do. The buffet was actually pretty darn good. Lots of different options each day.. great shows . Had lots of fun . The only part I didn’t like was the Port of Miami . Just a traffic jam when loading and unloading….

    Thank you for the review. We are booked on Seascape for 28 days over the next few months. I have a few comments. I have siled over 15 times on MSC over the past few years. Divinia and Meraviglia. As to the Muster drill. I found NO PROBLEMS. To me the process was very easy. The istructions were simple. Watch the video in your room when the announcements are made. At the end of the video it says call 881. After you do that it says wait in your room until they call your floor over the loudspeaker. That cuts down the mass confusion as they stagger the guests so it is not so crowded. But some do not wait and do not follow the simple instructions. Sorta like they assign various staggered check in times at embarkation. But when 5,000 guests all try to check in at the same time, and the terminal holds 1,000. That means many guests who follow instruction will be forced to stand outside in the HOT SUN, because those with 3PM check in times are pushing their way in at 11AM.
    Yes the buffet is busy n embarkation day. The only place to eat. But the buffet is HUGE. And if you walk around to the back area it is very empty with lots and lots of tables where you can sit with only two if you want.
    As to dining hours hours. The website says your choice for dining. But when 5,000 all want early seating and there are only 2,000 seats. Everyone cannot get everything they demand. As adults we teach our children to share. And we as adults have to share too. Like in the theater, there are only so many seats. So they have three shows to allow all who want, a seat to see the show.
    Caberat Rouge has multiple entertainers. Not just two. Different entertainers at different times.
    The Robotron has three different speeds. You can ask for slow, medium or very, very fast. The signs there say so.
    As to Ocean Cay. Some sail on RCCL. Some sail on Carnival ... etc. There are cruise lines for everyone and NOT all cruise lines are the same thing. Like Disney is not the same island or experience like Celebrity or the same as Carnival or the same as MSC. That is one thing cruisers like. Like One line has American food like Guy's Burgers. MSC is a Italian ship with Eurpoean food. Variety is the spice of life.
    I live in Central Florida. Some come to Florida for Disney. Some come to Florida to hang out on the beach. Some like to go coast to coast on a plane and some like the laid back of traveling by train. Not one person likes everthing the same.
    I like you will be doing a review on Seaside soon. We are booked on a b2b on Seaside in a couple months. Glad you enjoy sailing. Just remember every cruise line is not like all the others. MSC DOES NOT have go karts, flo rider and there are cruise lines that do not have what MSC offers. I have been sailing for over 50 years now. Well over 125 sailings so far. 6 more sailings booked in 2023. Thinking of adding a seventh or eight sailing around the Christmas holidays. Sailed on many cruise ships. My first was the MSC France. Then it became the SS Norway. In the 70's. No water slides, no go jarts. We had shuffle board and we had skeet shooting off the aft. I got trophies for my skeet shooting. And we used REAL Shotguns and clay pigeons
    Keep sailing. Enjoy life. And i look forward to your review on the Seaside

    • @thecruiseworld
      @thecruiseworld  Год назад +2

      I miss shuffleboard! Yeah, the muster fiasco was our fault…. We were so used to way other lines have done it since the restart we just wanted to get it out of the way…. Had we read better, we would have been aware. As far as the buffet, it was great and not too crowded other than at embarkation…. We had to lap the entire thing twice before finding a seat…. And I assure you my friend, these were the only two performers at Le Cabaret Rouge all week. I don’t think that’s typical. Hope to see you on the high seas at some point Hangman! Thanks for watching.

  • @Pantherjonvideos
    @Pantherjonvideos Год назад +9

    Yeah, MSC has a 'different' Muster Drill which NEEDS to be communicated to guests prior to boarding! So, read and learn the following prior to boarding your next MSC cruise(especially if it's your first cruise with MSC):
    1) Explore the ship and find your muster point as soon as you get on board.
    2) Wait/listen for the announcement of when the Drill is taking place, they will tell you when you need to be in your cabins to watch the safety video on your TV. After watching the video you call 881(it may differ from ship to ship, that was the number to dial when we were on the Seaside), its an automated message that will confirm your call.
    3) Proceed to your muster point, by way of the STAIRS if your muster point is on a deck different from your cabin, Get your card scanned and your done! :)
    Fairly easy to do..SO DO IT!! Don't be one of 'those people' who they have to call out on the P.A. to get it done!!

    • @thecruiseworld
      @thecruiseworld  Год назад +1

      Exactly Jon! We just sailed on Seaside and they handed us a paper explaining the process, which as you know is simple if you know it ahead of time! I wish we had that paper on Seascape. Even so, there were STILL people who didn’t get it done in time…. Thanks for watching and I hope your cruising again soon.

    The flip side to the Muster Drill issue..... These crowds, lack of elevators, everything shut down, etc. is what it would be like in REAL emergency. So this is a more realistic drill..... (Still not fun but understandable.)

    We are booked on the Seascape for Christmas. We have sailed MSC twice before (Meraviglia and Divina). That said we understand the muster process, which I agree is silly. Also, the cc kiosk machines are an unnecessary encumbrance. We have sailed different lines and do agree their customer service is lacking and doesn’t compare to Royal or Princess. We booked our cruise based on itinerary as well as price and ship/room. We are going into it with an open mind and hoping for the best.

    First cruise ever was MSC Divina and my second was with RC. I loved the muster drill with MSC vs RC. Sitting in my cabin watching a quick video and making a 5 second phone call is better than walking around looking for a specific station to stand in the heat. Also, the drink package on MSC is alot cheaper and were great for us. No customer service issues for us either. MSC Island Ocean Cay could use some work as there's not much to do but still beautiful. I'm planning another with MSC for my birthday in March 2024. Hope its another great experience 🤞🏽..To each their own

    Great post!
    Lots of good info and tips.
    Yeah we agree, don't like the card issue either.
    As for the whistle, my first thought is a nearby cabin has the the balcony door open which creates the whistling.
    We haven't done MSC yet but everytime we look into it we find out things that keeps turning us away and seems to us the bad will outweigh the good.
    We looked into the drink pkg but the basic didn't include what we like to drink.
    Also, I think overall we would keep comparing everything to Carnival, with Carnival in the lead.
    Might be our imagination, but it seems the decor throughout the ship is very dark.
    Thanks for the post!

    • @thecruiseworld
      @thecruiseworld  Год назад +1

      The ships are beautiful, in our opinion…. Definitely a different vibe from Carnival. And yeah, we thought that’s what the whistle was at first too, but it NEVER stopped. We even went back later in the cruise…. Still an issue, but not our issue 😀

    I will Sail Seascape this August hoping a good trip, I Enjoyed Seashore last year but yeah some issue were present like those smart elevator they take a long time to arrive in peak times better use the stairs, Also in Seashore didnt have long lines they have a preferred Ganway for Yatch Club guest, Specialty Dining the only is worth is Butchers Cut, The Aurea Thermal Spa is worth it.
    Msc been improving Slowly they will take a lot of time to get on top of competition

    Hey Mark and Stephanie, I am a longtime Carnival cruiser (20), NCL (5), and RRCL (1 Oasis Class). Considering getting on the MSC SEASHORE in November 2023. However, I have seen lots of "Negative" comments about MSC. Primary concern are the long lines and considerable wait times to re-board after the different Ports-of-Call .... a video I just saw said people waited more than an hour in line in 100 degree temperatures ... with 1 Security Person working the gangway!! ALSO, THAT LACK OF ADEQUATE PERSONNEL THROUGHOUT THE SHIP, i.e., Main Dinning Rooms, Buffet, Bars, Customer Service, etc., resulted in long waits and lines. Your video is the 1st one with positive comments outweighing the negative ones! DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD TAKE THE PLUNGE WITH MSC?? Thanks in advance. 😎⛹️‍♀️🤸‍♂️🚴‍♂️

      Thanks for watching! Yeah, not sure what happened but we were unaware of that muster process which, as I stated, once we knew was easy. We just got off the Seaside yesterday and when we boarded her they gave us a paper explaining the muster. Wish we would have had that on Seascape, lol. We haven’t had any issues lately with CS, but that is a complaint of MANY people we speak with…. It’s what scares them about MSC and we try to convey they we have enjoyed cruising MSC and will continue to do so…. We did have issues during the COVID shutdown and getting the proper amounts credit from two cancelled sailings and it took a lot of explaining, discussing and time spent on the phone to eventually work it out. We also had cancelled sailings during that time on Carnival and RCCL and they handled the issues much better. If you enjoyed Seashore then you will like Seascape as well-they are twins! I hope you have a great cruise.

      @@thecruiseworld Thanks. Yes, I am excited to be on the twin. Really enjoyed relaxing on the Seashore. That's the sole purpose of this cruise. I'm taking a military veteran so they can take a break to relax. So, it will be a low key cruise. I chose the Seascape for that purpose. It's less going on than like a Royal Oasis class ship or the newer NCL ships. After the Seascape, then next up will be checking out the new Celebrity Ascent which is the twin for the Beyond. I don't really mind twin ships. Allows more people to enjoy a specific class of a cruise line. Works for me. Safe and fun travels to you all.

      Hey Tshepi, thanks for watching! Yes, our cruise fare includes the Easy Plus beverage package so we could have unlimited drinks up to $10. Most lines do offer a discount to beverage packages and other things like dining and excursions if you purchase prior to sailing. They also often run sales so if your booked, keep an eye out .

    So you don’t need to pre book going to shows?? How many dining restaurants are included?

    • @thecruiseworld
      @thecruiseworld  Год назад

      You do need to reserve the shows but you can only do it one day in advance once your onboard. You can reserve your spot either through the app or through smart screens throughout the ship. The buffet and the Main Dining Room are the only included dining venues on this ship…. That is one of our negative takeaways as many other ships have multiple options that are included.

    Hello! Thanks for all the tips about the seascape, we will be going to Cozumel in may 18th. I emailed our representative with a couple of questions but didn’t hear back. Maybe you guys can help me, I would like to know if the cabin has a blow dryer, iron and how is the water situation for drinking, another thing is how did you manage tips, they where asking for $500.00 for room in advance (optional) . Thanks for your help

      If you did t prepay the gratuity it will be charged to your onboard account. There should be a hair dryer in the room, but no irons. Tap water is provided free of charge, however bottled water is also available for a charge but is also included in many of the drink packages. Have a great cruise.

    Just got off Divina...The bad was the food. If you dont care about food and love pizza and burgers then you wont care. We only had pne type of chicken on the last day. They only had 1 dessert for the last day. If this is your first cruise or you just want to bring kids that eat only those foods, you wont care. The black crab was also not good. Only 2 restaurants you can pay for. Boring island but it was pretty and they had parts with nets so you cld swim with peace of mind. The island bartenders were rude and no communication and they seemed mad to serve us. The boat staff were AMAZING AND NICE. The balcony room was very nice and the boat is super clean. You run out of things to do because its a small boat. The theatre acrobats was top notch. Amazing show . I am not a fan of the singing because I dont like that type of entertainment. But if you do then you will like it I guess. They had nice voices. They make ypu dig in bins at the end for all your pictures! Crazy and unorganized. Just thousands of pictures with no information on the bins. 😅. They had a pool deck party and clised all the pools and jacuzzi for the night! Wow. We couldnt get in jacuzzi the entire trip due to limited space and kids taking over!😢 the singers that were outside of the theatre room were excellent. The so called parties were wack and the 3d rollercpaster experience has a foggy left eye that literally ruins the experience and they even said they were aware of it but still charging. I was blown away by the fact that yhe boat didnt have much to besides sitting in pretty rooms. But hey some people may be just fine
    The bahamas also sucks unless you gwt pn the ferry and gwt away from the port (from what im told) we didnt have time...They had the best espresso I ever tasted. The food was horrific if you have tastebuds and not focused on feeding small children.

      Thanks for the review… MSC is definitely working on attracting the US market and has some newer ships here as well like Seashore, Seascape and Seaside. Being newer, those will have more options for food and entertainment. Ocean Cay is closing for 6 weeks for renovations here in a couple months and I hope they add some sort of beach pool area. Hope you’re cruising again soon and have a great experience!

    I’m a 14 year old kid who had his first cruise experience back in March of this year and the entire thing was a complete booze cruise, I didn’t get a single second of sleep the first night because drunks were running back and forth down the hallways and knocking on the cabin doors. I don’t give the best advice but please save yourself the trouble of this and pick a different cruise not to mention the L O N G announcements in any language you can think of every time the had something to say over the loudspeaker l

Most of those experiences I’ve had were actually the teens, but I’m sorry this happened to you. Was it a shorter cruise? 3-4 days? Sometimes when they are on the weekend, they attract a lot of party goers and especially around Spring Break which it seems this may have been. The announcements on MSC can be drawn out because they have a lot of foreign guests…. I hope your next cruise experience is a better one, and thanks for watching.

    Just a quick observation. The MSC ships are very large. You will inevitably have long lines, limited dining tables, slow responses, sticky dance floors, and terrible service. Ratio of staff to customers is low. But the prices are low too, so don't expect a really classy cruisers. Remember that low prices mean low expectations. Abattoirs are free but the experience is dismal.

    • @thecruiseworld
      @thecruiseworld  Год назад

      Hey Patrick, yes this is a big ship, but there are a lot of bigger ships and we have never experienced these kind of lines when getting back on the ship. Onboard, we never felt overcrowded other than the first meal onboard and it makes sense because EVERYONE was at the buffet eating and rooms weren’t ready. Most other ships, including MSC Seaside that we just sailed on, have other venues open for lunch as well to help alleviate the congestion. I think something special about MSC is that they do offer value fares and very expensive fares all on the same cruise…. Other than the yacht club, ALL passengers were waiting in that line. They definitely need to figure that issue out, but I thought the overall staffing levels were adequate sans a couple of instances and who knows what those causes were…. Overall, we chalked this up as another great cruise and we look forward to sailing MSC again soon! Thanks for watching.
