I adore this piece, which I've never heard of!! Its angelic feel is like a balm for the soul, especially HERE in your post, where people can enjoy a marvellous recorded sound (reproduced through state-of-the-art equipement)!! Thank you so much for this rare jewel, that shows me how beautifully it's still possible to compose a concerto using a completely tonal language(with some modal moments that look back at the early orchestral works of Debussy)! Greetings from Genova! Sergio
Oh my! I've been waiting for someone to upload this version of Lyra Angelica. As far as I can see, your upload is the only one of the Lyrita recording (and what a wonderful LP it is too). My grateful thanks :)
Hi Bob, These Lyrita recordings really are special aren't they? I am slowly purchasing the CD's and in doing so learning more about British music. Have you seen any of the Proms yet? John Wilson and the Sinfonia of London played Bax and Tintagel, magical.. This is available now on CD as SRCD230.
I don't suppose it's of any more interest to William Alwyn's admirers that his great-grandson is Taylor Swift's boyfriend than it is to Taylor Swift's admirers that her boyfriend's great-grandfather was William Alwyn!
Amazing Composition Thanks Again Friend 👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
Wow lovely transfer. Dave Hurwitz brought me here!
Thanks for your comment! I enjoy Dave's videos - though I don't always agree with him😂
This piece, and the Gliere, are my fav harp concertos 🎶 🎶 🎶
do you know the Radames Gnattali Harp Concerto? Very beautiful
@@MrDjango1953 No I have not; I will definitely give it a listen. Thank you.

A wonderful LP indeed (like all Lyritas really 😀)
@@ClassicsAndVinyl Would you be of a mind to upload the Autumn Legend from this LP at some time (he asks, somewhat cheekily!)?
@@tonyobadinage6647 I can add this to my to-do list 😀
@@ClassicsAndVinyl Which must be quite lengthy by now! Thank you :)

Hi Nigel. Lyritas are always worth seeking out! Great repertoire in super sound! I've caught a few Proms but missed Tintagel sadly.
