    They actually sent the animators to cooking school while making this movie, so they could really get a grasp on how things worked and the movements of cutting and prepping and all of that. And Linguini is actually voiced by a Pixar background artist, Lou Romano. :D It was really, really neat to see them address the heckin' POWER a smell or especially a taste can have sparking childhood memories - once you've experienced it yourself, you know there's nothing else like it. I love how you can instantly see more color in Ego's face immediately after that memory and - something that was just pointed out to me yesterday - he seems to have gained a little bit of weight by the epilogue. Indicating that he's actually *enjoying* being a foodie now and it's not so stringent as "if I don't love it, I don't swallow."

      I think rats are just as cute as mice and I find mice super cute. And I've heard from people that rats actually make great pets and are smart.

    It's still hard to believe that Patton Oswalt of all people got to voice Remy. One of the best comedians of all time. I loved him as Agent Koenig in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

    I detest rats as much as the next person, considering my last few encounters with them, but Remy is an exception. And yes, it is natural to get hungry watching a movie that revolves around food. I do enjoy this film though, one of Pixar’s finest in my opinion.

    Also yeah, there's apparently a photo in the old woman's house if you look around - I think during the swinging chandelier part - that indicates she was indeed in some war or resistance when she was younger. So she's prepared for this rat invasion. XDD

      @GracemarieJohnson2763 3 года назад

      I think you're right about her being in a war or resistance. This film takes places in the 50s or 60s. So she must've been in the French Resistance during World War II. Makes sense, doesn't it?

    This movie is one of Pixar’s greatest. It’s so unique and interesting. And yea, like some people have said, the health inspector shut them down so no reason to lie, but there’s one other reason I believe Pixar chose to let him tell the truth.
    By them showing Ego that Remi, a rat, cooked his meal, I think it was there that he finally understood what "Anyone Can Cook" really meant.

    The total premise of this movie is just plain insane. But... it works! And it works well! You love the characters, rat and human both. This may be the first animated movie that makes you want to eat the animated food! The premise may be just plain insane, but movie is just plain... fun.

    The Rat Killer shop actually exsist in Paris and it inspired Brad Bird and the Pixar team to include it in the movie to show the point of rats can't co-exsist with humans cuz humans will exterminate rats where they aren't suppoused to be (like in the kitchen of a resturant, especially gourmet resturants like Gustaues). They even do display rats in traps in the window just like in the film.

    I love how natural and honest your reactions are - I like you had a little criticism at the end, even though like others pointed out, the restaurant would still be closed because of the health inspector and skinner - so there was no chance and so it's most important for the message as a whole that they show ego the true cook - so that we can have this wonderful review at the end of him ^^ and of course you still loved it but it's great to see that your reaction can go in any direction and that makes so powerful reactions like the one to cars 3 even better

    I took my two nieces, then in grade school, to see this. Marina, the elder sister, was so taken with this movie that as soon as we left the theater, she said she wanted to cook something. Back then I did a bit of cooking beyond heating up frozen meals. Regrettably, I wasn't able to oblige her because my sister-in-law's kitchen was such a disorganized mess.
