شعر: بيژن ترقی
اين سرود به وسیله ژان باتيست لومر فرانسوی که برای تربیت یک گروه موسیقی نظامی به ایران آمده بود نوشته شده است.
این سرود به وسیله سیاوش بیضایی با افزودن يك مقدمه، بخش میان و بخش پایانی تکمیل شده است كه از لومر نیست و به این قطعه صلابت بیشتری به عنوان یک سرود ملی می‌بخشد. شعر زیبای این قطعه از ترانه‌سرای مشهور بیژن ترقی است که برای این تنظیم جدید سروده شده است.
اين نخستين اجرای كامل اين سرود به وسيله يك خواننده زن است.

Composition: Siavash Beizai (on a anthem by Jean Baptiste Lemaire)
The first National Anthem of Iran was composed by J. B. Lemaire in the time of Ghajar Sultan (Naser-ed-din Shah). It is originally composed for Piano solo and played only once during the jurney or Sultan to France on the piano. This Hymn is rearranged and composed by Siavah Beizai. The Introduction, the mildle part and the end part of this piece dos´nt belong to Lemair but composed by Siavash Beizai, which serve as a formal and musical strenthening of a real National Anthem. The lyric is from Bizhan Taraghi, written for this particlular arrangement. This is the first complete performance of this Anthem by a woman.

What does the word "مهر/mehr" mean? As I know, this word means "love and seal". But in this poem you showed the meaning of this word as a "sun". Can you explain me, please. İ know there's a discordance in translation of this poem if we use the words which were given by me. As I guess you're the native speaker of persian, and of course, know more than me

Sun, coming from Mithra (a goddess worshipped in ancient Iran/Persia, before Zoroastrianism, in Zoroastrianism become a divine entity, a kind of angel, however that cult of Mithra itself evolved into a separate religion/cult called Mithraism), Mithra was usually affiliated with Sun as the brightest and largest heavenly object. 2. Mehr is also 7th months in Zoroastrian and modern Persian/Iranian calendar. coming from Mithra 3. Friendship and love, this also may have root in Mithraism, another form is Mehrabani = Kindness, friendship etc. 4. Also 16th day of each Zoroastrian month; the day Mehr (16th) of the month Mehr (7th) is called Mehregan, one of the Zoroastrian and Persian holy-days (but not an official holiday in modern time). The Arabic word of Mehrejan (meaning festival) comes from that. Mehr may have some other meanings too, but these are the most common ones. The seal/stamp/sigil is the translation of Mohr (written in the same way using Perso-Arabic alphabet)
