I was watching, and as soon as the scene came up with her in it, I couldn't finish the movie. It's like it completely took me out of the magic because I knew the person? the character faded and it was just the actor. I reckon it's like this for a lot of actors who don't watch their own movies.

Also, it makes sense that Milla Jovovich wasn't included since her character barely spoke throughout the entire movie. I love how in character Wiley (Mitch) is.

Dazed and confused came out in 93 and halloween 4 came out in 88 so that doesn’t add up. He just never got offered big time roles, mainly regulated to side characters in shows/movies
i dont know if he is wooderson now, but he definitely was wooderson when they hired him for the role. the way he got the role was completely random. he was in a bar in austin and chatted up someone who worked on the film- either the director or casting director. either way, his whole demeanor being himself was what got him the role.

John Hughes & Richard Linklater are unparalleled as filmmakers in connecting to the YA experience. They have both worked outside of this genre very successfully but inside it they have no equals.
Poor Slaterson, really taking his role seriously. LOL This has been my favorite movie since I watched it for the first time at the age of 8. This started my classic rock love.

I grew up in Cleburne Texas and watched this film just a few years after it was released. It is as authentic and true for the 90s as it was for the 70s. Cheers to a wonderful portrait of adolescence in a corner of the world that is still magic.
Everybody Wants Some is great but I can’t speak on the authenticity since I wasn’t alive yet!! I can say that Dazed & Confused was COMPLETELY authentic for my high school experience
Parker Posey was the best part of Scream 3. Joey Lauren Adams hasn't aged a day. She's gorgeous and so is Adrianne Palicki as the teacher & Pickford's mom. I loved her in the movie Legion.

And Michelle Burke (Jodi) has always been beautiful af to me. Loved how Darla’s character has the same energy too when she does the air raid. Wish Ben woulda been here. Seriously I can’t shout out everyone but they did great and this was brilliant to do this

I was a freshman is 1976, and even though I grew up in the Santa Clara Bay Area of CA and not Texas, I can really relate to this film and those times. Everything about this film is so great, includng even lighter touches like the authentic props; from the concert t-shirts, the bicentennial Kiss poster, and characters ending most sentences with "man". Dazed and Confused is such a modern day classic.

The story of Matt playing L.A. woman trying to pull on to Sunset reminds me of me and my friends blasting sweet emotion as we pulled into the last day of junior year and again on the last day of senior year in the 90’s. Lol. We lived this movie

This movie made me nostalgic for my childhood growing up in Tennessee in the Seventies, now I'm nostalgic for the movie, made in the Nineties. I once met McCoughnahey in 1998 and we discussed the film. Here's my insider tidbit: I was semi-acquainted with one of the bit-part actors in the film in Nashville back in the 80's (we were both in the music scene). So if you've ever wondered why Wooderson says, "Nashville! Party at the Moon Tower!"--he is addressing that actor who is in that scene (but doesn't speak)l. I mentioned that to Matthew when I met him, and he said, "Oh yeah! Wild Bill from Nashville!" Anyway, like the rest of you, love this film, had fun watching this, some of the old actors were better than others, but Matthew, Parker, Wiley, Joey and Adam were great.
As someone who graduated in 2020 i can confirm 4:50... i watched the movie in march while in quarantine, i mean its one of my favorite movies but kind of heartbreaking to watch in quarantine when i know were not even getting a graduation party...

I'm just gonna say it: this was simultaneously enjoyable and the most awkward, constantly tense thing ive ever seen.
Watching Matthew McConaughey do this table read has convinced me, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that he actually IS Wooderson.
i dont know if he is wooderson now, but he definitely was wooderson when they hired him for the role. the way he got the role was completely random. he was in a bar in austin and chatted up someone who worked on the film- either the director or casting director. either way, his whole demeanor being himself was what got him the role.
He said in an interview that he was mimicking his older brother who he modeled Wooderson after.
The "real life" wooderson was so embarrassed by the film that he sued Linklater and the movie studio. The judge ruled against him.

As someone who graduated in 2020 i can confirm 4:50... i watched the movie in march while in quarantine, i mean its one of my favorite movies but kind of heartbreaking to watch in quarantine when i know were not even getting a graduation party...
