I've noticed this sort of "dominance competition" to be a feature (not to mention a red flag) in "bro-groups" of macho (and often times misogynistic as well) guys when they get together/interact with one another. Toxically masculine guys like this will get into this sort of competitive mode intentionally or unintentionally whenever two or more of them get together, or even sometimes in any interaction they have with any sort of guy, even if the other guy is just vibing and not trying to compete like this. As you can imagine, it's exhausting to both witness and especially experience, and I would imagine it is exhausting for the guys themselves to strive to perform this aspect of gender constantly.
the hypocrisy of them saying gender doesn’t have an impact on identity and ten minutes later saying they can’t be friends with women because they’re too different…
It is so crazy to think of excluding an entire half of the world from your life experiences and social circles because you have one (1) woman you get to sleep with in your life. Imagine cutting off all but one (1) woman (outside of family) out of your life because you see them and their importance in the world to be so miniscule and basically non-existant outside of the individual need of maternal and sexual affection. Absolutely batshit lol. 💀
Anytime someone says "iT's JuSt A jOkE" after an offensive joke towards women, is a just a sign of trying to normalize misogyny, you can not convince me otherwise
Facts. Anytime anyone uses “it’s just a joke” after anything racist, sexist, misogynistic, etc. it’s absolutely an attempt to normalize. Especially since that kind of behavior has become increasingly inappropriate for more & more people as the generations with whom that behavior was accepted become less & less relevant & fade into a minority belief system
I like the whole men and women can't be friends thing because as a bisexual it means I can't have any friends. I mean, I don't. But that's cause of my shitty personality.
same here. i only date other women so the dynamic is a little different, but if my girlfriend were to ditch all her friends as soon as we started dating and only wanted to be around me, i'd be wicked concerned about what kind of person i'd just entered a relationship with. either that or i'd be worried about what kind of vibes i'm accidentally putting out there that made her think i'd be upset about her having friends.
yeah i don't like it either if ever get a man i pray he doesn't lose his friends like no go out bruhh i don't like too much attachment go have fun just be responsible tho ..u miss me call me...
You also have to remember if he just cuts off all the platonic relationships he has with women like that he’d most likely expect you to no longer have male friends because of this weird idea all men are after one thing
The most frustrating part for me about dudes like this is how they aggressively project their own misogyny and sexual frustration onto all men. Just because you personally are incapable of being a normal fuckin person around women, doesn’t mean I am.
As a bisexual man this video taught me the much needed lesson that I am fully incapable of having friends. My bad y’all I didn’t know I needed to have sex with everyone I see
This video is quite the conundrum. It's literally a video about a guy reacting to a video, of some guys reacting to a video of that same original guy reacting to a video of the guys that the original guy reacted to... Quite a mindbender
A fully trained dog, despite cannot speak a human language, can fully understand “no” “stop” “don’t”. So if a dog can understand that, then it means they can too. But they don’t care, and that’s a huge problem. Men that act like this would commit violence because they believe they have the power to control the people that they believe is weaker than them.
As someone who grew up in that type of Christian environment. You are taught basically that to not be friends with the opposite sex. As men, basically your urges are so overwhelming that you have to hold off until marriage (basically) So in a way I get that. However it doesn’t excuse that the way he views that is backwards
my dad doesnt have friends that are women but he still found a way to cheat on my mom for three years so I think platonic relationships don't mean you're gonna cheat.

Which is ironic, because assuming that to relate to men, you have to be misogynistic, is inherently misandristic. The whole point is, that if you yourself, who is not apart of said community, say something about that community, and a majority of people from that community say it’s offensive, it probably is. Just because there’s a spoonful of women who make they’re whole personalities “Not GettIng offEnDed” doesn’t mean that what you said isn’t offensive. The way they described the difference between "platonic" and "romantic" made me lose brain cells within seconds. It's so damn confusing on how they described it
You can visibly see the moment that they realize this isn’t just some roast video and go “oh shit, he’s actually about to drag us through mud without breaking a sweat”
No because you know they’re not friends when they can’t disagree with each other. Other podcasts have tons of arguments and debates cos the hosts are actual mates and are comfortable with disagreements lmao
You can see the tension. Like, you don't fear saying the wrong thing around friends. You don't have those like making jokes and feeling immensely awkward and just letting people ignore you, you don't have to fight to speak up, there's a natural flow when you have genuine friendship. I rarely have ever felt like genuinely unheard when around friends, and if I do, I speak to them about that, presumable in this scenario, off camera. If a joke falls flat, people ask questions or give pity laughs, they aren't fucking weird enough to just ignore you. Friendship comes with trust and a level of comfort in one's presence. They just don't seem entirely relaxed in each other's presence. Not to say they aren't friends, but they don't seem like close enough friends to be making a whole goddamn podcast with. :?
@Miriam Svenson Exactly. Making jokes that go too far will get called out but friends know it's not malicious but just a misstep, a clueless or ignorant remark, etc., they know better than to shame a person they care about because they messed up. Plus friends can have civil debates that crop up without warning that don't lead to discomfort or discourse. If it heads that direction, friends know to shut down the argument to preserve the friendship, hence you'll agree to disagree if you're tired of the debate/argument and/or start to feel more emotionally compelled or that things are getting tense. Not to mention how friends can have different views and just not even need to debate it. I'm non-religious, I consider myself an agnostic apathiest. I don't think it's my place to decide whether a religion is right or wrong and I don't think I have the capability to know for sure, and honestly, even if a higher being came before me and told me they existed, I don't think I'd suddenly change how I live my life. I do my best to be morally good, and if a higher being doesn't agree with my morals of good and bad, then why would I want to end up in their eternal playground anyways? I'll take the risk of eternal damnation over the risk of there being no afterlife and having wasted my life on things that could potentially be meaningless. I've had plenty of very religious friends, and the reason we get along is we are both able to recognize that us having differing views on the world doesn't mean that one of us has to be right or wrong, nor does it mean that we have to disagree with each other constantly. I don't know if there's a god, but when I speak on the matter I refer more hypothetically, because again, I don't know. That's not me being disrespectful intentionally, and most of my friends recognize that. And I like to show genuine curiosity to their particular way of thinking in the bounds of their religious belief. It's a generally educational conversation we can have, where we recognize we may have different opinions, but we don't have to be at each others' throats but rather learn and grow from one another and enjoy a pleasant conversation on religiosity. To me, that's a sign of at least a good friend, not even per se a best friend, because I feel comfortable enough around them to discuss subjects where we have very opposing views without any discourse or even debate, but rather sharing our sides in a friendly non-combative way, and we can enjoy our differences as humans. Of course that requires a level of maturity I doubt these men have. :T

Yeah! I find it absolutely mind-boggling how pressed some people get about proving someone's feelings wrong. Your feelings can't be wrong! You could have the nicest of intentions, but if someone gets hurt, they got hurt - that's it, nothing more to it. It doesn't matter what you meant by it, just apologize and move on - you're not losing the fight or whatever by admitting you went too far. And obviously everyone's feelings are different - some easier to get to than others and it's only human to be mindful of those borders, no matter whether crossed by accident or not!

Toxically masculine guys like this will get into this sort of competitive mode intentionally or unintentionally whenever two or more of them get together, or even sometimes in any interaction they have with any sort of guy, even if the other guy is just vibing and not trying to compete like this.

Girl ate them right on up in the calmest way
No because you know they’re not friends when they can’t disagree with each other. Other podcasts have tons of arguments and debates cos the hosts are actual mates and are comfortable with disagreements lmao
They do disagree with each other tho

21:00 I am so sick of everyone thinking that women don't have testosterone and men don't have estrogen. It's on different levels, sure, but we both still have both hormones. And as someone who took T I can assure you that having heightened testerone, while it does increase sex drive, does not affect your ability to interact with others respectfully.

I could never have kids with a man that doesn’t believe in platonic relationships with women because clearly they don’t view our humanity in its fullness. Same type of men to treat their daughter as their property. I also love how they just leave out the possibility of *gasp* befriending a woman you’re not attracted to 😮. Their only motive to even attempt to connect with women is sexual, which feels inherently predatory.
