I nearly got scooter-jacked in Denver by a guy on a rental e-bike. My first thought was finding it sorta weird he was wearing a mask (bandana) and no helmet on a 98F day. He had been going the opposite way along the bike-path crossroads, then I saw him 180 in my mirror and speed up behind me. He got to about 10 ft away when I was cruising in mode 1 (max 25MPH) and started to reach out his hand (without saying a word) as if to shove me off when I clicked up to mode 3 and dropped the hammer (max 42MPH). He lowered his arm back to the handlebars, slowed and turned back around, defeated. It's a good thing I got suspicious enough to track his movements in my side mirrors and react accordingly. Just a reminder to maintain situational awareness. It also helps to have a plan (or two), as well as some form of protection. You never know what sort of crazy stuff you'll encounter on _ordinary_ rides. Stay safe out there!

As a ebiker I've been harassed by cars myself. They seemed to be bothered by my mere presence on the bike lane.
A lot of drivers doesn't tolerate anything but cars on the street.
